OH EM GEEE a nail polish that takes 1 second to apply, 60 seconds to dry and stays chip free for a week- surely that cant be true?!
Introducing Purple Reign by Rimmel London...
If you regularly read my blog you'll know that I recently won a giveaway on Daisy's blog (Daisy Loves Lipgloss). I won a lot of make up and beauty products and this gorgeous nail polish was one of them. The great thing about winning Daisy's giveaway is that I wouldn't normally have bought this colour and without winning her giveaway, I wouldn't have found such a gorgeous colour or such a great nail polish.
This is the first nail polish i have used with an Xpress Brush which allows you to apply the polish in 1 second. Having a wide, flat brush would allow most people to paint their nails with just one stroke, mine took two as I have quite a big nail plate but it was still less than most nail polish brushes. Its dries really quickly too. The bottle says that it dries in 60 seconds but in all honesty, I think it dries in less time because I would literally paint one hand and by the time I had painted the other, the first hand was dry leaving a colour that is just out of this world.
As the name suggests, Purple Reign is a vibrant purple with shimmering reflects of a whole host of colours. The thing that I really love about this polish is that the colour is buildable. The pictures I have taken show the polish after two coats but it looks just as good with one coat, or three (the third coat I applied after taking this photo) and with each coat you apply, the colour changes, from a light shimmery purple, to a vibrant purple, to a deep purple shimmer.
Wow this polish has staying power- I finally took it off today to try Rimmel's Sky High, after a week of wear and it is still chip free. I simply cannot recommend this nail polish enough. It would be fantastic to wear to go on holiday on your nails and toes as it would stay there all week so no faffing on with nail varnish remover!
You can buy Purple Reign from Boots, they're usually £3.49 but they're on 3 for 2 at the moment- what a better way to stock up on the latest colours?
If you'd like to see the other items I won, then the blog post I wrote about winning the giveaway is here.
Can you recommend any other colours to try from this range?
