I hope you're all having a good evening. Its bitterly cold here at my cousins house in Yorkshire so I'm curled up on the sofa with my laptop and a furry throw. I thought id do a little post about a winter outfit I've recently worn. Ill admit, it was going to be an outfit of the evening for Bonfire Night but the fireworks display that we went to see was on Sunday 7th November and by that time the majority of places had already had their Bonfire Night Celebrations, so I've turned it into a more general winter outfit post.
Despite hating the rain and the cold winds, i love winter. Mainly for the cheerful spirit in the air and the warm cosy fashion. I always find that I can wear winter daytime fashion a lot better than summer daytime fashion. With being "plus size" I find that in the winter I can layer up and really take advantage of all the gorgeous clothes that are on offer but during the summer, I always feel like the clothes and trends that are available to me are a little inferior compared to those available for slimmer girls. Sometimes it just seems like summer days are for stripping off and wearing as little as possible and that doesn't always look great if you're over a certain size! Still, I always try to make the best of myself and wear things to suit me.
The night that we went to the firework display, it was freezing cold so I knew before I left the house that I would definitely need to wrap up. After the fireworks, I went to this gorgeous little shabby pub that's outta the way of the hustle and bustle of the other pubs and we found that they had a buskers night on. There was so much talent in this little pub, it was a real find. We cant wait to go back there. On the way home we also picked up a curry which was a very warm welcome after being out in the cold all night!
This is the outfit that I put together for the evening:
Faux Fur and Suedette Gilet- Evans
'Love' lace detail long jumper dress- Evans
Blue knitted leggings- Inspire at Newlook
Bailey Button Ugg boots- Daniel Footwear
Hand knitted pom pom hat- George at Asda
You may notice that I don't have a bag with me in the photos- it was in the car, but it was just a long grey/cream purse that I used as a clutch bag.
Pearl stud earrings- Primark
Pearl and gold 'Love' necklace- Primark
3 white gold and diamond rings (my engagement ring, 1 diamond band and 1 heart diamond ring)
I was a little worried about doing this post as I thought that the majority of readers wouldn't buy the clothes I wear with them being purchased from what a lot of people call "big" shops. I changed my mind though and decided to run with the idea of doing Winter Warmer outfit posts as whether you're slim or cuddly, most shops stock the latest fashions so no matter what your size you will be able to find something similar to what I have on here. Things like leggings and jumper dresses are universal these days!
My Love of Uggs
This winter, like any other, I am practically living in my Ugg boots. My Uggs of choice this winter are Bailey Button Uggs and were £160 from Daniel Footwear in Newcastle, but you can get them at most shops that sell Uggs. It seems like a lot of money for boots but they are never off my feet over the autumn/winter so they are one indulgence I don't feel guilty for indulging in! They're a gorgeous addition to my little collection of winter boots and I love the many different ways that you can wear them. On this occasion, I was just wearing them in the usual way, without turning any of the sides down but they're so versatile and you can create lots of different looks with them.
What style of Uggs are you wearing this winter?
Do you think that they are all they're cracked up to be?
What do you think of my Winter Warmer outfit?
