If you're looking for affordable skincare then look no further than Dirty Works, available exclusively at Sainsbury's. I've already raved about their Blemish Buster 2 in 1 scrub and mask that I have seen such great results with very quickly and I can confirm that it is still working just as well for me over a month after I first started using it and I've already repurchased it for when my current one runs out... it's love!
Two new products I've been trying from Dirty Works are the Banish the Bags Eye Cream and the Lift and Firm Super Skin Serum. Although this isn't a skincare routine post per se, while I review these two products I'm also going to talk a little bit about the other products I'm using alongside these products as part of my skincare routine and how they're working with them.
Banish The Bags Eye Cream

This eye cream is super brightening, to the point of it reminding me of my favourite day time eye cream, Origins GinZing. Although it isn't salmon coloured like the Origins GinZing, it has very similar brightening properties and really reflects the light. This makes it great on under eye circles, particularly if they're pretty dark. It's cooling on bags and puffiness too. I used the Banish The Bags Eye Cream the whole time I was away partying in Amsterdam recently and it really perked my eyes up which was quite an achievement considering I'd had four hours sleep each night for days straight!
Lift and Firm Super Skin Serum
I love using a skin serum before my moisturiser and I've reviewed many on WhatLauraLoves. This is a great product to add to my portfolio of skincare reviews as it is a budget option that doesn't let you down. The consistency is thin and light and carries a very light pretty scent. It is very hydrating and keeps my skin feeling soft all day. It leaves a dewy finish without making my skin look greasy so I've been loving using this during the day lately as I've got a bit of a tan and have been going make up free to work.
It can be used morning and night after cleansing and toning but before moisturising. I personally like to use this as my daytime skin serum, after I've used my No7 Hot Cloth Cleanser, as it sinks into my skin quickly without leaving a film on the surface of my skin. It works particularly well with my daytime moisturiser, the Clarins Ultra Matte Rebalancing Lotion for oily skin, and together they provide a great base for my make up. At night, I prefer to use something a little more heavy duty on my skin, namely the Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Serum, and so far I'm finding the combination of these products together is really working wonders for my skin. This serum has fitted in well with my other products and has helped to maintain the youthful and bright appearance of my skin.
The Lift and Firm Super Skin Serum contains a powerful beauty boosting complex of Calendula to reduce inflammation and calm the skin, Glycerine to increase the water content in the skin to reduce dehydration, Panthenol to smooth and soften dry skin, Ruscus Acuteatus to increase microcirculation, reduce puffiness and increase firmness, Yeast Extract to stimulate cell renewal to aid skin regeneration and last but by no means least, Centella Asiatica Extract to strengthen capillaries and nourish dry skin. Wow what a lot of key ingredients! They're obviously well chosen as they work great together and one thing that I've noticed about both the serum and the eye cream is that I really feel as though they're working and doing some good for my skin when I apply them. They get a thumbs up from me!
I'd like to give a quick nod to the Dirty Works packaging too. Yes its attractive but it's actually really informative too by telling you exactly what the product will do, what it has in it and how the key ingredients benefit you. I really like that and it's great for those who are perhaps just starting out with their skincare or looking to expand their current routine from the standard cleanse, tone and moisturise.
Do let me know if you try any of the Dirty Works products from Sainsbury's. You can also view the full collection on their website here.
