Foot Care Products for Pedi Perfect Feet

One of my favourite films from my childhood is What A Girl Wants as I always remember watching it while I was singing in America and really missing my Daddy back home.  I'll always remember one particular quote from the film, 'if you can walk on a beach and you have a steady hand with nail polish, there's no reason to ever pay for a pedicure'.  Well that's not strictly true now is it?!  I live in a coastal city but hardly ever find time to go to the beach.  With busy lives, although we may long for the exfoliation of the sand on our skin, it really isn't a realistic weekly occurrence in all of our lives.  That's where the at home pedicure comes in.  Over the course of this week I'm first going to review some of my favourite pedicure products, then I'm going to show you how to achieve the perfect at home pedicure and I'm also going to share with you some of my favourite pedicure nail polish shades.

Today, I thought I'd start with a review of some foot accessories from Dirty Works which are all available to buy in store and online from Sainsbury's.  If you're a regular reader, you'll know I'm a fan of Dirty Works products.  I think they're a great budget buy that really rival the top brands products.  You can check out their full range of products here.

Dirty Works Sole Sister Foot Scrub, Toenail Clipper and Smoothing Foot File

Dirty Works
Sole Sister Foot Scrub

Dirty Works Sole Sister Foot Scrub, £2.99 for 100ml from Sainsbury's
So we've established that we can't all spend our days strolling along the beach, gently exfoliating our feet in the sand.  So that's where the Sole Sister Foot Scrub from Dirty Works comes in.  It's a mint scented foot scrub packed tightly with lots of quite finely ground pumice.  It provides a quick and simple yet effective way to exfoliate your feet and relieve them of hard skin, requiring minimal effort.  Whether you enjoy this as a weekly foot spa treat or as a part of your bath time routine, Sole Sister Foot Scrub is the easiest way to keep your feet in flip flop ready condition.  It's also a great way to prepare for tanning too.  Many people struggle to get their fake tan to sit right on their feet and loads of girls experience the dreaded orange feet when they tan where the fake tan has clung to the hard skin on their feet.  Our feet are one of the areas of our body with the most dry and hard skin.  Exfoliating and moisturising regularly can make applying false tan so much easier as the skin around the feet will much more supple and soft and will result in a more even tan.

The Dirty Works Sole Sister Foot Scrub is pretty abrasive and can be used with as much or as little pressure as you like.  After the first use, my skin felt much smoother on my feet and also on my hands as obviously I'd used them to apply the product.  I keep Sole Sister in my bathroom and use it whenever I'm in the bath just before I get out after my soak, I run the majority of the water out of the bath, then massage a dollop of the foot scrub into my feet focusing on my rough areas like the balls of my feet and heels.  I also use it when I do my fortnightly pedicure which I'll show you later in the week.   After repeated use of the foot scrub my feet feel smooth and soft without feeling greasy or having an oily coating on them.  Of course if the skin on your feet is particularly hard, dry or cracked, like mine tend to get, then using this alone won't work wonders overnight.  Instead, I'd recommend using it in conjunction with a foot file.  I've being trying out this fantastic one from Dirty Works.

Dirty Works
Smoothing Foot File

Dirty Works Smoothing Foot File, £5.99 from Sainsbury's
Hand on heart, this is the best foot file I've ever used.  I suffer really badly from dry, hard and often cracked skin on my feet and if I don't keep on top of it then my feet can end up in a right state.  Particularly in the summer when I'm constantly wearing flip flops and especially when on holiday when the ground is very dry.  This foot file effortlessly files away the dry, hard skin on my feet and buffs them up to feel smooth.

The Smoothing Foot File from Dirty Works has two sides, one rough side for getting right of very hard, suborn skin and a smoother side for buffing up the skin and giving it a smoother finish.  I find both sides work in harmony with each other, particularly if you have dry cracked, flaky heels.  I use the rough side to take the bulk of the hard skin off my feet then use the smoother side to smooth over the cracks so that the flaky skin doesn't catch on other clothing, socks and carpet.

You can use the foot file as directed, after your feet have been soaked in warm water however I find it to be most effective on very dry or hard skin when the feet are dry.  When used on dry skin, you can literally see the hard skin be filed away and I find this provides a smoother finish.  It works really quickly this way too.  I haven't got the time to spend hours on my feet so I like quick fix products that work and last and this is one of those accessories that really does what it claims to do.  I'm really so impressed with this foot file it has worked wonders for my feet.  if you have dry, cracked or hard skin on your feet then you need this foot file!

Dirty Works
Toenail Clippers

Dirty Works Toenail Clippers, £2.49 from Sainsbury's
The Dirty Works Toenail Clippers are a precise, quick way to neatly shape toenails  and tidy them up ready for polish.  They're easy to hold, strong, durable and sharp enough to cut even the thickest and hardest of toenails.  They can be used when your nails are dry or after soaking them to soften them.  When clipping your toenails it's best to cut them straight across as cutting down into the corners to round them off can lead to ingrown toenails.  After clipping you can leave your toenails as they are or smooth them off with a nail file.

I'll show you how I use all of these products in my pedicure routine in a post very soon!

WhatLauraWore: Floral Drop Back Dress

On Saturday I attended a wedding reception and I just couldn't wait to show you all my outfit.  I got this dress from AX Paris at the beginning of the month and I've been dying to wear it.  I'd seen a few girls wear the same dress from the regular line so I was so pleased to see that it's available in the Curve collection too.  I've been a big fan of drop back dresses this summer, they're the perfect way to get your legs out whilst still wearing something sophisticated and glam.  This floral dress is available in white and black.  Of course, I chose the white as when I take this on holiday it will be the perfect dress to wear to show off my tan.  I love the cross over detailing on the bust and the sweet heart neckline, very feminine and flattering.  I'd say this dress runs true to size, if a little generous fitting due to the elasticated panel at the back.  The chiffon material glides over curves and looks floaty and feminine which is ideal for summer occasions. It is very comfortable to wear, has a great shape to it and looks extremely pretty.  If you're looking for a dress to wear to a wedding or christening this summer, then this is it.

WhatLauraDid: Week 31

*Fun at the Pencil Museum this Sunday* My favourite tea room in Keswick* Gorgeous body and bath oil I've been trying out* Mudd face masks have kept my skin lovely this week* The iPad* Pampering treats*

This week has been great filled with lots of exercise, shopping, parcels and good times with friends.  My iPad got delivered on Friday although I must admit I haven't set it up yet, that's going to be my job for tomorrow evening after aquafit.  I'm hoping to be able to blog on the go and in my lunch break at work which will hopefully free up my evenings a bit more.  After spending all day on a computer at work, I hate coming home and being on the computer all night, I'm sure many of you know the feeling!  I received lots of goodies to try out in the post this week too so expect lots of reviews coming up in the next few weeks.

I've been shopping quite a few times this week too.  I had intended to buy my summer holiday clothes next month when the sales are usually in full swing and when there's still usually lots of summer clothes on the shelves.  Not this year.  I popped to the shops one night this week and couldn't believe my eyes- dark clothes, thick heavy materials and woollen hats and scarves.  Britain has officially given up on summer and I'm gutted.  The sales had very little to offer too.  New Look had about 4 different summer sale items and Simply Be's summer sale items were all in sizes which would have fit me last year but are now too big.  I honestly felt like I couldn't win this week.  The lack of clothes meant that I had to shop around more and really take my time to find a few pieces that I liked from different shops rather than being restricted (due to my size) to a couple of shops and buying whatever I could find that would fit.  In the end, I managed to find some items that I really like, albeit not in the sale but they were still a good deal.  I picked up a couple of dresses in Simply Be, a dress and some bandeaus in New Look, a few dresses in Sainsbury's and a dress in Peacocks.  It was great being able to buy clothes from the smaller sections and made me feel really proud of myself.  I'm thinking of doing either a clothing haul or perhaps a holiday wardrobe style post, let me know what you think.

This week on WhatLauraLoves, I finally got around to posting the outfit that I wore to Plus North and I'm so pleased you love the lemon dress as much as I do!  I also posted another more casual outfit featuring the aztec owl top I bought as my first Primark purchase a couple of months ago.

It wouldn't be a proper week on WhatLauraLoves without talking about my latest skincare must have.  This week I blogged about the Banish the Bags eye cream and the Lift and Firm Super Skin Serum from Dirty Works which I'd really recommend if you're on a budget but still want to enjoy a full skincare routine.  I'm not far off finishing mine so I'm going to keep the rest and save them to take on holiday with me.  My aim for my holiday toiletries is to take just enough to be able to fully use up and leave the empty containers over there... of course I'll take some snaps for an empties post though!  Speaking of empties, this week I blogged about my fourth lot of empties; Lush BIG shampoo which I wouldn't use again even if I was forced, the LUSH lip scrub, Hyaluronic supplements from Holland and Barrett, the Trilogy face scrub and the Ted Baker Body Souffle which is the most amazing complex scent for a drug store product.  Check them out!

Hope you've all had a great week.

Stay beautiful <3

WhatLauraWore: Aztec Owl

Evening All

Friday is FINALLY here and I'm really looking forward to just relaxing this weekend.  I'd fully intended to post these outfit pictures ages ago but I got so caught up with product reviews I just haven't had the chance!  It's a casual one and the leggings are so ill fitting but I can't find any in a smaller size now.  I'll definitely be picking up a similar colour when the autumn comes though.  I love this simple t-shirt that I picked up in Primark for £3.  It's great being that little bit smaller that I can fit into shops like Primark as I never had the option to before and I'm loving it.  I've got a summer holiday fashion haul coming up and that has a dress I picked up in Peacocks and other items from shops I've previously been sized out of.

WhatLauraWore:
Aztec Owl print t-shirt from Primark
Cardigan from Dorothy Perkins
Leggings from Inspire at New Look
Navy Flossys

Dirty Works Banish The Bags Eye Cream and Lift and Firm Super Skin Serum

If you're looking for affordable skincare then look no further than Dirty Works, available exclusively at Sainsbury's.  I've already raved about their Blemish Buster 2 in 1 scrub and mask that I have seen such great results with very quickly and I can confirm that it is still working just as well for me over a month after I first started using it and I've already repurchased it for when my current one runs out... it's love!

Two new products I've been trying from Dirty Works are the Banish the Bags Eye Cream and the Lift and Firm Super Skin Serum.  Although this isn't a skincare routine post per se, while I review these two products I'm also going to talk a little bit about the other products I'm using alongside these products as part of my skincare routine and how they're working with them.

Banish The Bags Eye Cream

Dirty Works Banish The Bags Eye Cream £4.99 for 15ml from Sainsbury's
The Banish The Bags Eye Cream is one of my favourite products from Dirty Works.  It's smooth and gentle in formula and applies effortlessly using my ring finger so as not to apply too much pressure to the thin skin around my eyes.  It's fragrance free too which is great as I'm not sure I'd take too fondly to a scented product around my eye area.  I've been using this both during the day and at night as its thick enough to be a hydrating night time eye cream too.  For the price, this eye cream is incredibly indulgent.  It feels just as luxurious as my higher end eye creams.  Perhaps that's due to the ingredients of Shea Butter to deeply moisturise and vitamin E.

This eye cream is super brightening, to the point of it reminding me of my favourite day time eye cream, Origins GinZing.  Although it isn't salmon coloured like the Origins GinZing, it has very similar brightening properties and really reflects the light.  This makes it great on under eye circles, particularly if they're pretty dark.  It's cooling on bags and puffiness too.  I used the Banish The Bags Eye Cream the whole time I was away partying in Amsterdam recently and it really perked my eyes up which was quite an achievement considering I'd had four hours sleep each night for days straight!

Lift and Firm Super Skin Serum

Dirty Works Lift and Firm Super Skin Serum £7.99 for 30ml from Sainsbury's

I love using a skin serum before my moisturiser and I've reviewed many on WhatLauraLoves.  This is a great product to add to my portfolio of skincare reviews as it is a budget option that doesn't let you down.  The consistency is thin and light and carries a very light pretty scent.  It is very hydrating and keeps my skin feeling soft all day.  It leaves a dewy finish without making my skin look greasy so I've been loving using this during the day lately as I've got a bit of a tan and have been going make up free to work.

It can be used morning and night after cleansing and toning but before moisturising.  I personally like to use this as my daytime skin serum, after I've used my No7 Hot Cloth Cleanser, as it sinks into my skin quickly without leaving a film on the surface of my skin.  It works particularly well with my daytime moisturiser, the Clarins Ultra Matte Rebalancing Lotion for oily skin, and together they provide a great base for my make up.  At night, I prefer to use something a little more heavy duty on my skin, namely the Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Serum, and so far I'm finding the combination of these products together is really working wonders for my skin.  This serum has fitted in well with my other products and has helped to maintain the youthful and bright appearance of my skin.

The Lift and Firm Super Skin Serum contains a powerful beauty boosting complex of Calendula to reduce inflammation and calm the skin, Glycerine to increase the water content in the skin to reduce dehydration, Panthenol to smooth and soften dry skin, Ruscus Acuteatus to increase microcirculation, reduce puffiness and increase firmness, Yeast Extract to stimulate cell renewal to aid skin regeneration and last but by no means least, Centella Asiatica Extract to strengthen capillaries and nourish dry skin.  Wow what a lot of key ingredients!  They're obviously well chosen as they work great together and one thing that I've noticed about both the serum and the eye cream is that I really feel as though they're working and doing some good for my skin when I apply them.  They get a thumbs up from me!

I'd like to give a quick nod to the Dirty Works packaging too.  Yes its attractive but it's actually really informative too by telling you exactly what the product will do, what it has in it and how the key ingredients benefit you. I really like that and it's great for those who are perhaps just starting out with their skincare or looking to expand their current routine from the standard cleanse, tone and moisturise.

Do let me know if you try any of the Dirty Works products from Sainsbury's.  You can also view the full collection on their website here.

Empties #04

Ted Baker Origami Body Souffle
OMG this smells amazing.  It is fragranced with rose, sandalwood, raspberry and vanilla; what a combination!  The body souffle is a thick, rich cream that becomes light and easy to work with when rubbed into the skin.  It leaves my skin super soft and smelling delicious all day.  My best friend got me this in a gift set at Christmas and I'll definitely be buying it again for myself solely for the scent, AMAZING!!

Triliogy Gentle Facial Exfoliant
For a full review of this product, check out my blog post on it and some other Trilogy skincare here.  It's a great little scrub but I doubt I'd ever repurchase it as there's simply some better ones out there like the Dirty Works Blemish Buster 2 in 1 Scrub and Mask.

LUSH Bubblegum Lip Scrub
Great intense little scrub for your lips.  To use this, I warm a face towel under some hot water and press it between my lips to soften them.  Then I take a pea sized amount and apply it to the bottom lip and rub it in circular motions, followed by the same process for exfoliating my top lip, then I rub my lips together (yes, I am aware that this sounds filthy) and wipe the rest of the scrub off with the face towel.  This is an edible sugar scrub that is bubblegum flavoured and whilst it does taste nice, I wouldn't lick it off my lips as I don't fancy digesting the dead skin from my lips too!  Whilst this is a nice treat and does a very good job at making my lips soft and free from flaking, I wont be repurchasing this any time soon.  At almost £5, I think the price is a little too steep for a product that is used up very quickly.  I'd rather invest in a higher end product that will last me ages and ages.

Holland and Barrett Hyaluronic Acid with Vitamin C
Hyaluronic Acid is a substance which is found naturally in the skin, so taking it in the form of a supplement is great to give your skin a boost, particularly if you have any known allergies or sensitivities.  Taking these as an added extra to a healthy diet and thorough skincare routine can really help to give you a supple, firm and youthful skintone.  They also contain vitamin C which helps to support the formation of collagen in your skin.  I've really been into skincare over the last 6 months and I've been taking supplements like these alongside my skincare routine and I have to say they're really working, my skin is looking great!

LUSH BIG Shampoo
I'd wanted to try this shampoo for so long but unfortunately it just wasn't for me.  I hated the raw sea salt that makes up the bulk of the shampoo and whilst it did create some volume and shine in my hair it was not enough to endure the tiring task of trying to wash the sea salt out of my hair.  I have quite thin hair so I'd hate to think about how long it would take someone with thick hair to wash it out!

WhatLauraWore: Lemon Dressing

Today I wanted to share with you my favourite dress in my wardrobe; the lemon dress from AX Paris.  As soon as I saw this dress on the AX Paris website, I knew I had to have it; it was love.  I wanted something a little different to wear to Plus North, a fashion event for plus sized girls held in Leeds, and I knew that this dress would be it.  After all, if you're in a room with other plus sized girls, you would want to wear something a little different to limit the risks of turning up in the same outfit as someone else!  I figured this eye-catching lemon number fit the bill.
The cut of this dress is fantastically flattering and a prime example of how AX Paris have made their Curve collection for a truly curvy figure.  The elasticated waist band fits to your true figure and the chiffon skirt floats over a bit of a tummy, like in my case, or bottom, flattering those areas rather than emphasising or hiding them.  The wrap over deep v neck is again flattering, sexy and is perfect for those with an ample bust.  I'm not particularly well endowed in the breast department so the dress fits a little largely on me here but because the elastic waistband draws the dress in at my thinnest part under my bust, it fits perfectly.

This dress has actually just gone on sale on the AX Paris website for only £14.99!  Click here to go to the AX Paris website to check it out and the other sale items from the regular and curve line.

I paired the dress with black accessories so as not to detract from the vibrant yellow in the lemons on the top of the dress.  I feel as though adding yellow accessories would cheapen the look of the dress and it would lose its unique design.  A dress like this doesn't deserve to fade into the background!

WhatLauraDid: Week 30

Here is a holiday snap from when we stayed at the Sensatori in Mexico... Photos like this make me count down the days to my next holiday, I love being abroad
The sun has finally reared its pretty hot head again and I've been loving it this week.  There's something about the summer sunshine that makes me take better care of myself.  The sun shines and suddenly I'm at the gym or swimming once, even twice daily, my skin care routine moves up a notch and I'm out in the sunshine catching the rays at every possible opportunity.  This is my favourite time of year and it's my time to shine.

One thing I love about summer is the pretty dress I get to wear on nights out. In the summer I like to dress feminine and pretty at almost every given opportunity but there's something fabulous about wearing a flattering short dress and getting those tanned pins out in the sunshine. Think sipping amber nectar in a wine bar on the sea front with the girls, bliss. When it comes to pretty dresses, you can't beat AX Paris in my eyes. I've posted twice about them this week; once to tell you all exactly why I'm such a fan and once to share an exclusive discount on their current sale, which I must admit, I have abused since payday. Let's face it, when there's savings to be had on dressed I was planning to buy at full price, I can't say no when fate intervenes.

I've been trying out lots of new products this week and using up quite a few as well. The Weleda Body Wash Minis have been a joy to use; they're strong smelling, luxurious and moisturise the body as well as clean it. I was planning on keeping them all for when I travel and stay overnight for events but I really can't resist using them all up in my regular shower. I'm simply going to have to repurchase the set, which will undoubtedly lead to a few more Weleda purchases. This weeks empties post featured some products I've had good experiences with and some bad but the good news is that I would consider repurchasing the majority of them, especially my beloved Snow Fairy shower gel and the Estée Lauder DayWear cream, the cucumber scent is so calming. But I'll not be touching the Dior Show mascara again, what a disappointment, definitely not worth the investment!  Hopefully one of these days I'll get to a point where I can have a one in one out philosophy on all products with perhaps only one other alternative to each type of product. One day....

Until that day comes though, I'm going to keep trying out new products. Like the two festival essentials I've been trialling this week. Dr Organic make some fantastic products, their lip balm has become a staple in my evening skin care routine as it keeps my lips hydrated all night long. I had a voucher to spend with the points I'd accumulated on my Holland and Barrett card which I spent this week in some more Dr Organic products. Me WLL has suffered really badly with breakouts this week and the Dr Organic tea tree rollerball cleared up his angry red spots so quickly. There was such a dramatic difference over night, I really think it is going to be one of those holy grail products.

What have you been up to this week? What are your top spot treatments?

My Love for AX Paris Curve

AX Paris launched their long awaited Curve collection in February this year after listening and responding to their customers feedback.  Out of all the high street fashion brands to launch a plus size range, I am most excited about the collection from AX Paris because they have succeeded to create fashion forward and affordable clothes where so many other brands have failed or not quite hit the mark.
Aqua Chain Print Skater Dress from a recent WhatLauraWore post
I've seen AX Paris sold in New Look and Republic and always loved the look of their designs; their style of clothes is something I've always dreamt of being able to wear, it is me down to a T but I've never been able to fit into their traditional range of size 8 to 14 clothes.  Now with the Curve collection available in sizes 16 to 26, I can now wear the outfits I've always wanted to.

I think the greatest achievement of AX Paris so far is that they have brought out clothes for curvy girls that truly are as stylish as those for girls who aren't plus size.  Often when a brand brings out a plus size range they either create boring, plain and shapeless clothes that hide the wearers figure or they take the same item from their straight sized range and add a few inches to the dimensions of the garment on the cutting table.  This is where the pieces from AX Paris are different; they're very similar to the clothes from their usual range and are often made of the same fabric and in the same style but they take into account the look and shape of a plus size figure and create something that will flatter the woman wearing it, celebrate her curves and make her feel confident in the knowledge that she too can wear the latest trends.
Chiffon Skirt Two In One Dress featured in a WhatLauraWore outfit post
AX Paris have acknowledged that plus size women want to show off their curves and aren't always afraid to wear something figure hugging. Their range literally has something for every shape and style, so whether you prefer long or short sleeves, straps or strapless, v or round neck, long or short they have something for everyone.

The clothes from AX Paris Curve are cut to fit the plus size figure, by giving more room in the bust and having a longer length which is great as I know as much as anyone that when you're larger, particularly in the bust and stomach area, that it pulls your clothes upwards and makes everything look shorter!  The Curve collection also takes into consideration the style of an item and looks at how it can keep the same design but utilised in a different way to flatter the majority of plus sized women.  Like with these tops, for example, they both feature the on trend leopard print cross and vintage USA flag design but the standard is in a vest top which is likely to flatter the majority of those who aren't plus sized whereas the Curve offering is a little short sleeved t shirt which would flatter many curvy girls and many would prefer this style since lots of plus sized women don't like to show too much of their arms.  Style or design hasn't been compromised for size here and both look great.  I really love the look of the leopard cross tshirt and also the over sized perfume bottle tshirts.

Top Row L to R: CURVE Leopard Cross T-Shirt, Leopard Cross Print Vest Top,  CURVE Vintage USA Flag T-Shirt £18, USA Flag Vest Top £12.99
Bottom Row L to R: CURVE Chiffon Layered Skirt V Fronted Dress, V Front Chiffon Dress, CURVE Aqua Chain Print Skater, Chain Printed Skater Dress

In the same respect, a lot of plus size girls have craved for the same dresses that are available to smaller women but in their size and AX Paris have also catered for this too, in the same or very similar style and colour.  Like the dresses above for example.  The ones on the left are a very similar style except in different colours, the solid black bottom of the Curve dress will be more flattering on a larger tummy but both dresses are feminine and summery.  The dresses on the right are exactly the same except the Curve has been cut for a plus size figure by making it 94cm in length compared to the standard dress on the right which is 82cm.

AX Paris as a brand in general are very affordably priced.  One thing that I have noticed is that the Curve clothes are more expensive than the original range which I did expect although I don't entirely agree with.  I'm sure the brand would argue that there is more material involved yada yada but, in my eyes, the same could be argued between a size 8 dress and a 14 but what do I know?!  All I know is that the clothes are stylish, very well made and still LOADS cheaper than the majority of their rivals who charge through the nose for a plain tent!  Plus you can order online and delivery is cheap too which is something I've found bumps the price up with other brands, but not AX Paris!  I placed an order very late at night on the 18th, I opted for the free delivery with Yodel and it arrived on the morning of the 20th.  Cant say fairer than that!

Coming up on Monday I have a WhatLauraWore outfit post wearing another  AX Paris dress that I wore to the Plus North event in Leeds recently.

Weleda Mini Body Wash Pack

For 2012, Weleda have created this fantastic limited edition set of five mini versions of their best selling pampering body washes.  These creamy body washes as multi-purpose products, making them great for travelling, as not only do they act as a body wash to cleanse your skin but they also act as an in shower body moisturiser too.  Not only are they great for travelling but they're also a great way to try out the product and it's different fragrances before committing to buying the full size body wash.  Each tube is 20ml full of product so there's more than enough for 3 showers each so plenty of time to make your mind up on which is your favourite!

All of the body washes are fairly thick and creamy in consistency.  Not only do they clean your skin thoroughly but they also moisturise the skin, leaving it feeling soft and clean, without tightening the skin and leaving it squeaky which I hate.  The fragrance of all of these products lingers on your skin afterwards as well as the softened feeling.  Each of the 5 body washes has a different scent and contains a different lead plant so they all have slightly different benefits but they're all packed full of a cleansing base made of sugar, coconut and rich anti-oxidant sesame oil to hydrate and cleanse the skin.

The pack contains a body wash in citrus, wild rose, pomegranate, sea buckthorn and lavender.  All of which have a powerful and natural scent.  Nothing smells artificial about them in the slightest.

Citrus Creamy Body Wash
I first tried one of the Weleda Creamy Body Washes when I tested out their Summer Travel Kit which contains all the essentials you'll need for a trip away at home or abroad, including a 20ml tube of the Citrus Creamy Body Wash.  I'm so happy that this pack contains another one of these as it smells amazing and really wakes you up if you use it in your morning shower.  The citrus fragrance gives you a right kick; it's invigorating and refreshing, particularly if you use it after a warm night when the air is too stuffy and hot.

Wild Rose Creamy Body Wash
This one is ideal for skin that is dry or stressed as it contains organic musk rose oil to nourish the skin and it is rich in essential fatty acids to deeply moisturise and care for drier skin types.  This one really softens the skin and makes it feel hydrated although it's not my favourite scent as I'm not a lover of rose fragrances.

Lavender Creamy Body Wash
This body wash is perfect to use at night time as it contains pure lavender essential oil which relaxes your body and makes you feel sleepy.  Many lavender products are targeted for use in the bath while you soak but this body wash relaxes you just the same if you're using it in the shower as it is so fragrant and fills the shower with the scent of lavender.  If you're using it in the bath, I recommend dampening your skin, smoothing this on and soaking for a few minutes before washing it off, for the ultimate body wash relaxing treat.

Sea Buckthorn Creamy Body Wash
I'll be the first to admit that I haven't a clue what sea buckthorn is but it certainly smells pretty, very much like orange and ever so slightly like a liquor.   This body wash contains the powerful regenerating pro-vitamin A and vitamin E to nourish and restore the skin.

Pomegranate Creamy Body Wash
I adore the smell of this pomegranate body wash and I love how it stays on my skin for hours after showering, especially if used alongside the pomegranate body oil.  It also contains the essential oils of sandalwood davana and neroli which make you feel balanced and relaxed.  This one is probably my favourite out of all of the body washes

The Weleda Mini Body Wash Pack is available online here for £9.95 and you can also check out the main Weleda website here where you can find the full size versions of these minis and the other great products that they do.  The Mini Body Wash Pack is not only great for travelling and for trying out the scents before you buy the full size but it would make a great gift for someone too.

Ted Baker Butterfly Wings Body Scrub, available from Boots
I received this in a huge gift set off my best friend for Christmas.  I've been using it for the last few months and it has left my skin feeling and looking great.  It is a very gritty and abrasive but it also contains lots of oils which stay on your skin after using it so it moisturises your skin really well too and keeps it soft and supple all day.  It smells great too, feminine and floral without smelling artificial.  The scent is a mix of bergamot, red fruit, tuberose and patchouli.  I tend to use this in the bath; I run the water, soak for a while then let the water out and use this to scrub my whole body (except my face!) before washing it off.  The only thing I don't like about it is that it leaves the bath dirty and oily and it is pretty hard to wash off.  I probably wouldn't repurchase this myself as I have so many other body scrubs to be using up but I've certainly enjoyed using it.

Lush Snow Fairy Shower Gel for hair and body
I love this product, mainly because it smells absolutely amazing and is pink with iridescent sparkles in it.  It is a sweet smell of candy floss and fruit that lingers on your body for hours after.  You can use it on your hair and body so I tend to buy lots of these at Christmas when they are launched as a limited edition product and then I take them with me when I go swimming so that I don't have to faff on with lots of different products.

Holland and Barrett Tan Tablets
I used these earlier this year when we had all of that hot weather and finally finished them off this week after having a few sunbed sessions.  I like to use the sunbed every now and again because it helps to keep my psoriasis at bay.  Holland and Barrett's Tan Tablets contain key nutrients that are needed to help develop and enhance a deeper, natural tan in a shorter amount of time in the sun; Copper, L-Tyrosine and PABA.  I've got a second tub of these to try out on holiday this year to see how they perform in guaranteed sunshine, so I'll be using them two weeks prior to going away so that my body will be prepared for tanning from the moment I get there but I did notice that in our relatively short burst of sunshine this time around, I did seem to catch the sun more quickly than I usually would.

Estee Lauder DayWear
I will definitely be purchasing the full size pot of this moisturiser, I love it.  It is perfect for use on a morning and at night although I've been mainly using it on a morning.  It has a light cucumber fragrance and a rich, fairly thick formula and it sinks into the skin quite quickly.  It is designed for normal to combination skin but I can't see it being a problem for dry skins either as it is very moisturising.

Dior Show Mascara
I was so disappointed by this product.  The brush is huge and when you first start using it, it does give you a false lash volumised effect however it is so short lived as the mascara gets dries out ridiculously quickly, very much like the Estee Lauder Sumptuous Extreme mascara which also dries out within a couple of weeks.  I'll definitely not be repurchasing.  If you're looking for a volumising mascara I'd recommend L'Oreal Volume Million Lashes in Extra Black or YSL Faux Cils.

Dr Organic Festival Survival Essentials

Summer is now in full swing and by that I mean it's July, not that its necessarily sunny and hot.  I know many of you will be off on camping trips and attending festivals this summer so I thought I would share with you a couple of essential items from Dr Organic to take with you that I've been trying out over the last few weeks.  Both of these products are unisex so they're great for if you're going away with your boyfriend then you can both use them.  I'm always looking for unisex products for me and Mr WLL as they save so much space than taking his and hers versions of everything!

Dr Organic Aloe Vera Wet Wipes

The Dr Organic Aloe Vera Wet Wipes are 100% organic and are designed to both soothe and refresh the skin.  They can be used on the body and on the face to cleanse and refresh the skin which will be a godsend if you've been in a muddy field watching a gig in the blazing heat all day.  Aloe Vera is also great for if you're sunburnt as it helps to take the redness and sting out of sunburnt skin.  You could also take these on holiday abroad and keep them in the fridge to use to freshen up after sunbathing.  They come in a handy plastic pouch that you can reseal so that they keep fresh.  The wipes themselves are soft and feel moisturising and they are lightly scented.

Dr Organic Tea Tree Lip Balm

The Dr Organic Tea Tree Lip Balm is a multi action antibacterial product that  is designed to leave your lips hydrated, soothed and protected.  This is an ultra moisturising lip balm that did a fantastic job of keeping my lips moisturised and hydrated for hours and hours.  I tend to use this once at night at the end of my skincare routine and once on a morning after my moisturiser and before applying my make up and it keeps my lips moisturised all day long.  I've used many lip balms in the past but none that have kept my lips as soft and moisturised as this one, perhaps that's due to the shea butter it contains.  I think this would become a holy grail product for those with very dry lips as regular use combined with a little gentle exfoliation would leave their lips in tip top condition.  It also contains SPF 15 which makes it perfect to use when you're out in the sunshine to protect your lips from burning and blistering.  This product is a must have this summer!

These Dr Organic products and the rest of the range are available from Holland and Barrett both online and in store.  I'm a big fan of their products, particularly their Manuka Honey line.  Check out my other reviews of their Manuka Honey Skin Lotion, Rose Otto Facial Serum, and their Hand and Nail Creams Gift Set.

After getting back from Amsterdam on Tuesday, I’ve done nothing but sleep and work for days.  I’ve been so exhausted and after such a wild long weekend, I really needed to detox and catch up on my sleep.  I think I’m almost there!  Last night we watched an awesome film called The Next Three Days and if you like films like Law Abiding Citizen and programmes like Prison Break then I’d highly recommend it.  It’s basically about a woman who is wrongly accused of murder, sent to prison and tries to commit suicide so her husband decides to break her out of jail... just watch it, it’s brilliant!

I also experienced one of the most embarrassing moments ever this week; coming out of a shop in my town wearing a black velour tracksuit, having just been to the gym, with my hair in a top knot

This week was really exciting for me as the first clothing line from Gemma Collins was launched online.  I’ve been looking forward to this collection for so long and I certainly wasn’t disappointed.  Check out my top five picks from the collection and let me know what your favourite piece is.

Speaking of favourites, I posted a guide to the perfectsummer wedges this week, featuring my favourite heels from Primark.  Yes, Primark, for £12... you read correctly!!

I've been trying out some skincare products from Avene over the last few months and this week I finally got around to blogging about them.  They're for a variety of skin types so check them out.

Hope you've all had a good week :)

A Guide to the Perfect Summer Wedges

In the summer I usually live in flip flops and flat sandals regardless of whether I'm going out during the day or on an evening.  Since I was involved in a car accident a few years ago, I've never worn heels as they always seem to aggravate my back problems.  Coupled with the fact that my feet would always hurt in stilettos anyway because I had so much weight resting on two little feet, wearing heels was never a comfortable option for me... until now.

I always remember buying a pair of wedges from River Island about 8 years ago and I wore them to death.  They were the most comfortable pair of shoes I've had and I've never been able to find any similar, since comfort wise since.     Back in May I bought a short coral dress to wear to the Simply Be store opening in Gateshead and decided to pop to Primark to find some shoes to go with it.  Since I'd lost a bit of weight at that point, I thought I would try some heels on to see if they would still hurt just as much after losing some weight and thought that if I bought them and they did really hurt me then at least I wouldn't have wasted too much money.  I came across these coral and cork wedges.

Coral and cork wide fit wedges
£12 from Primark

These were first featured in my WhatLauraWore outfit post with my coral dress that Gemma from TOWIE has and I have since worn them many more times with the same dress and others.  They wear really well and don't mark easily at all so they're brilliant quality.

The wedges have a sturdy cork base with a frilly cotton canvas style material surrounding the foot.  They hold their shape well and are fantastic quality for their £12 price tag.  I love the cute peeptoe as it allows me to match my nail polish with outfit and show off a good pedicure!

These are seriously the most comfortable wedges that I've ever worn. They have an added cushion part where the ball of your foot goes making then super comfortable and easy to dance in all evening. I don't know why but it seems as though it is only the wide fit wedges from Primark that have this added part. I don't have particularly wide feet and as such I find that they are a roomy fit without being sloppy so they are still very stable on my feet, my only criticism is that the strap that hooks around the back of my foot is a little bit big but it doesn't rub and cause blisters, etc so I can't complain. The strap is elasticated but my foot doesn't need the additional length that the elastication gives so I am conscious when I'm wearing them in case the strap slips down; I wore them out last night and only had to hitch the strap up a couple of times and they felt really secure to my foot all night. Despite not having wide feet, I chose these over some of the other wedges in Primark which were not only more expensive but hard as nails on the sole area.  These are so perfect I bought them in black too.  I just wish they had even more colours in this style!

Black and cork wide fit wedges
£12 from Primark

These were originally featured in my Primark summer haul and I've worn them loads since buying them.  That day, I initially went into Primark looking for pink wedges by since I couldn't find any in pink I opted for the black which in the long run is the best idea as they'll go with so many dresses.  These are now a staple in my wardrobe and I couldn't be without them!

When choosing your own summer wedges, I'd recommend opting for comfort first and foremost.  What's the point in finding shoes that look gorgeous on the shelf but that are so painful you can't walk in them?  Summer nights are about enjoying yourself, having drinks with the girls and going wild and you can't do that when your feet feel like they've been cut off.  Find a brand or style that you like and find the comfiest pair within the range and then buy it in all the colours that you'll need to go with the most items in your wardrobe.  That way, you'll have really comfortable shoes that you like the style of and will go with your whole wardrobe.  I could only find these shoes in coral and black which is great as they go with the majority of my summer wardrobe but I wish I could find them in white.

I absolutely ADORE these wedges, they're really easy to wear and perfect for summer.  If you've bought any really comfortable heels or wedges lately then do let me know as I'd love to check them out.
