Sunburst Tan Review

Girls, I've discovered a little gem...

Sunburst Self- Tanning Mousse

Sunburst Self- Tanning Mousse is a new product on the market designed to give you that just popped out in California sun tan.  I first found it when browsing the fake tan aisles of Amazon in search of one of my usual, more high end tans.  This one was brand new, much cheaper and had rave reviews so I thought I'd give it a go as I had nothing to lose.  I wasn't expecting to love using it as much as I have done and I'd really say that it rivals some of the higher end false tanners out there as it ticks all the boxes; streak free, natural looking deep colour and fragrance free.

I apply this tan at night time, just before bed wearing latex gloves and a tanning mitt and then I wash it off in the morning.  I make sure to exfoliate and moisturise the rough and dry areas of my skin first and then I find that this tan applies really smoothly and evenly onto my skin.  You can read all about how I achieve the perfect false tan at home in this post.

It has a medium golden brown guide colour so it is easy to see where the product has been applied.  My top tip for avoiding streaks is to apply liberally as even if the product doesn't look evenly spread on the skin, as long as the guide colour is covering all of the skin, the tan will be streak free when it is washed off.

One feature that I really love about this tan is that it is virtually fragrance free.  When I first apply it, it smells of nothing- no false tan biscuit smell, no artificial fruity smell and no washing up liquid scent like other false tans I've used, it smells of absolutely nothing.  The tan remains fragrance free throughout the night and I only realise a faint false tan scent when it comes to washing the guide colour off some 7-8 hours later.  The false tan scent doesn't remain after the guide colour has been washed off.

Another great thing about this tan is that it doesn't transfer onto my PJs and bed clothes easily.  Usually after I've tanned my bed sheets are stained until I wash them but with this tan, only the waist band of my PJs was marked and this came out really easily in the wash.

Wearing Sunburst Californian Suntan
Sunburst Californian Suntan leaves my skin looking a gorgeous golden sun kissed tanned colour that appears healthy and makes my skin look perfected.  I love the colour it gives after just one application however you can reapply it for a deeper and darker colour.  I'm wearing it in the above photos and this was also the tan I chose to wear to my press launch with Simply Be last week.  It is suitable for all skin types and it is unisex so everyone will be able to achieve a gorgeous bronzed look with this tan.

I find that the tan wears evenly, lasting for about 7 days before I have to exfoliate the remaining false tan off and reapply.

Sunburst is available for £9.99 from Amazon for a 200ml bottle.  I'll definitely be repurchasing it when it runs out.  So far, I've had 3 full body applications out of it and there's still plenty left in the bottle!

Do let me know if you try this tan, I'd love to hear what you think of it!

  1. This tan looks great, think I may give it a go. How do you manage to keep your tan looking good for 7 days? I use the st tropez dark and with that and other tans within 3 days I need to scrub it off and re apply because it's gone patchy, I don't know whether I'm doing something wrong or what :/ xx

  2. It sounds really good. I got the Xen Tan on your recommendation but there's a lot of me so it won't last long. This might be my next purchase! x x

  3. I must admit I'm too scared to try tanning... in case I end up all streaky! So i'm stuck with pale white legs for summer lol :) xx

  4. That dress is sooooooooooooooooooo gorgeous!!! Where did you get it ?
