WhatLauraWore: Free Spirit Outfit and Kinsey Bag Review

Today I'm going to share with you a cute, effortless outfit that is perfect for going to the cinema or out shopping with your friends.
The black skirt I'm wearing is the ASOS Curve Exclusive Skater Skirt in Jersey that is currently in the sale for £8 which is an absolute bargain.  It is a little longer than I would usually wear but it gives a fun and flirty look and it definitely adds something a little different to my wardrobe.  I found the skirt to be great quality and a really comfortable fit.  There is so much material and the waist band is stretchy so it actually comes up as a generous fit.  I've tucked this coral Free Spirit t shirt from Peacocks into it which I've never actually done before.  I didn't think I'd suit wearing a top tucked into a skirt or trousers but I actually really like the look, as inspired by my friend Zoe.

Yarra Shoulder Bag in Jaguar from Kinsey
The bag I'm carrying is the Yarra Shoulder Bag from Kinsey Bags.  This is a new bag in my collection and it fits in perfectly.  I didn't have a black smart-casual bag so I'm really pleased that I have this one.
The Yarra Shoulder Bag is a soft black leather bag with a contrast Jaguar print cow hair panel on the front.  The leather is so incredibly soft, it is amazing quality.  I love the smell of real leather too.  I have a feeling this will be a leather bag that will get even better with age.
The flap opens and closes with a magnetic fastening and inside the bag zips fully across with a really sturdy zip.  I love cross the body bags that have a zip as it makes me feel at ease knowing that my things are more secure inside.
When the bag is opened it reveals a pretty striped fabric interior.  The bag is fully lined.
Inside the bag there is a leather trimmed mobile phone pouch with the Kinsey logo on it that fits my iphone in nicely.  On the other side, there is a wide zipped pocket that is good for keeping receipts, chewing gum and alike in.
It has a fully adjustable shoulder strap so it can be worn either across the body or on the shoulder as I've shown in the photos above.  In all of the photos, I haven't even lengthened it to its full potential so it will definitely be able to be adjusted to the desired length on the vast majority of people.  I've also tried tucking the strap in to use it as a clutch bag.  I like using it as a cross the body bag the most as it is so light weight and comfortable to carry, it sits just right on this part of my body and doesn't rub at my neck at all.
On the reverse of the bag there is another wide zipped pocket as well as the Kinsey logo pressed into the leather.  This pocket is handy for keeping things that you need quickly in, like a travel card, as you can pop it in so that it is within easy reach but you can zip it up for security.
For an idea on the size of the bag, it measures 23cm x 17cm x 5cm.  For a small bag, it is deceptively spacious.  I can easily fit my keys, phone, Mulberry Daria French Purse (review here), lipstick and perfume inside ready for a day out and still have room inside.

It comes with a dust bag too to keep it looking great.  I try to keep all of my bags in dust bags so that they stay in the best condition possible.
The Yarra Shoulder Bag is available from Kinsey Bags for £65.

  2. Hiya

i love the skirt! but I cant seem to get the asos link to work to go to it, which one is it on their website as they have a few :) x

  3. Beautiful! The leather pouch is too stylish I must say. The color is appealing and attractive. I really like the design. Though I often carry my Kilkenny orla kiley bag, but sometimes I also like to fabricate such unique stuff at home. I love to do experiments with leather and fabrics. I will surely try to create the bag at my home.
