Today I've got some more products that I've used up recently to share with you before I pop them in the bin. I really feel as though I'm really getting on top of using up the products that I have at the moment and I'm rediscovering some old favourites along the way too.
Macadamia Natural Oil Control Fast Drying Working Spray (review here, buy 300ml here, buy 100ml here)
The first product that I'd like to talk about is one of my favourite hair sprays and that is Macadamia's Control hair spray. It keeps my hair in place regardless of what hair style I'm creating whether its big curls or straight with volume and what I like about it the most is that it doesn't make my hair dry and crispy, it simply holds the style in place and it brushes out smoothly thanks to the argan oil and macadamia oil that it contains. I have really oily hair and some hairsprays really weigh my hair down and make it greasy so I have to wash it after using it however with this one I can actually go a second or third day without washing my hair and my hair just feels normal when doing so- not overly dry and not too oily either. It also doesn't have an overpowering smell like some hairsprays do. I've had them in the past that have felt like they were choking me when I have sprayed them as they have caught in the back of my throat. This one doesn't do that at all. I cannot recommend it enough and think that for the quality, it is well worth the extra few pounds spent than buying a Superdrug cheapy.
Nioxin Scalp Revitaliser Conditioner- fine hair '4' Noticeably Thinning (buy individually here, buy set here)
The Nioxin Scalp Revitaliser Conditioner is actually a product that I bought in a set. I was planning on reviewing the set together but I used the conditioner up just before I finished the shampoo which is incredibly rare for me as I usually have tonnes of conditioner left and no shampoo! The Nioxin line of products is designed to help with fine, thinning hair and the sets come with a shampoo, conditioner and treatment. After using the set I couldn't believe how thick and strong my hair was. The conditioner helps to nourish the hair, balance moisture and it really makes the scalp feel refreshed. I'll review the full line soon but I cannot wait to repurchase these products. They are FABULOUS.
Meaningful Beauty Cindy Crawford Facial Masque (buy here)
Using the Facial Masque from the Meaningful Beauty by Cindy Crawford line felt like the most pointless 20 minutes of my life. It's designed to purify, rejuvenate and illuminate the skin by absorbing excess oil, lifting away impurities, refreshing the skin, calming and soothing it. Unfortunately the masque did absolutely nothing for my skin. After applying it, I found that it hardened slightly but it didn't become so dry that it was too tight and it didn't flake off. I didn't buy the masque myself, I got it in a goodie bag at an event and I'm so pleased as I'd have been gutted if I'd wasted my money on it. It might work for you but it didn't for me and I couldn't see any visible improvement in my skin, even after using the full tube up. Needless to say, I wouldn't purchase it myself and considering it is £26.95, I think there are much better masques out there that actually work for a fraction of the price.
Now onto a product that does work and that's the Manuka Doctor ApiNourish Restoring Night Cream that I have been using for years. It's always a sad day at WLL HQ when I run out of a pot of this as my skin loves it. As a blogger, I get to try out lots of different skincare items so it is rare that I will continually repurchase the same cream as I'm always wanting to try something new however that isn't the case with this night cream because as soon as I run out of one pot, I place an order for the next.
The Restoring Night Cream is a beautifully rich cream that I apply as the last step in my evening skincare routine. It has a super anti ageing formula, listing Purified Bee Venom, UMF 18+ Manuka Honey and Royal Jelly amongst its ingredients. After a night of using this cream, my skin feels super moisturised, plumped up and youthful- I can't get enough of it! I make sure I decant some of this into a smaller pot when I go on holiday as I find that the cream is intensely hydrating and it is therefore perfect for sun drenched skin. Also, it has a really soft, comforting scent that I now associate with bedtime so it always helps me to relax when I use it which is perfect, particularly when I'm away from home.
Victoria's Secret Love Spell Smoothing Body Scrub (buy here)
I love the Victoria's Secret Smoothing Body Scrubs and the Love Spell scent is no exception. Love Spell is a gorgeous fragrance that combines cherry blossom with peach. It is a sugar scrub that you apply to damp skin, rub it in to lather it up and then wash it off to reveal super smooth, soft skin. It is a very gritty scrub which I love so it is perfect for when your skin is feeling particularly dry. I just wish that these scrubs lasted for a little longer as I seem to use a lot of product in one go with them.
When it comes to budget skincare for young skin, I don't think you can get any better than Good Things. The Fresh Start Creamy Cleanser is a rich yet light weight cleanser that feels silky smooth to the touch. I apply this to my skin as the second step in my skincare routine, having used a micellar water on a cotton pad first and patting my face with warm water. I massage it in and then take either my Riosonicleanse or a muslin/face cloth under warm water and polish it off my skin. It removes the last scraps of dirt, excess oil and make up from my skin and leaves my face looking youthful and feeling soft and smooth. It has a lovely fruity scent and it doesn't irritate my skin whatsoever. I find that this is the perfect cleanser to use morning and/or night and I will most definitely repurchase it once I've used up the others that I have in my skincare stash.
So that's it for my empties. I'll have another post up soon with some of the empties that I used up on my holiday. I'm always using up small, travel sized products and even some full size products don't always make the cut into an empties post but I hope you liked the ones I shared with you here.
