How to Wear the Floral Trend This Summer

Every spring and summer the floral trend returns and it just keeps getting better and better.  Today I am going to show you three different casual ways that I like to style the floral trend this summer using some of my favourite floral accessories and dresses from New Look.

The first look centres around the Inspire White Floral Belted Maxi Dress which is a creamy white colour with a busy muted floral pattern on it.  I've ordered this dress and can't wait to wear it now that I'm out and about after my summer bout of sinusitis (what is it with summer colds?!).  I love the tan belt that comes with the dress; I had a similar one from New Look last year and I wore it with so many of my other summer outfits, especially on holiday.

When wearing such a busy maxi dress, I'd keep footwear really simple by picking out the main colour of the dress and choosing flats for comfort like the White Metal Trim T Bar Sandals as they're hardly going to be seen and they'll go with lots of summer outfits.  I'd choose the Cream Exotic Flower Hair Garland for my head and wear my hair down with the garland over the top in a relaxed, boho style.  I'd recommend selecting a flowers in the garland that have similar colours to the pattern in the dress to pull the outfit together.

If your style is a little more sporty but you still want to embrace the floral trend, I would opt for the Inspire Navy Textured Daisy Print Tunic Dress which has a really boxy fit that you could dress up or down. I love the darkness of the navy against the pop of white and yellow with the daisies and I think a pair of the White Lace Up Sports Plimsolls would look fab with it.  I love the dress with super white trainers look, I used to wear it many moons ago and have started to again this summer.  I would wear my hair up in a high bun with the White Daisy Bun Hair Garland around it to pull the daisy look through the whole outfit.  I've been wearing these hair flowers over my top knots for the last two summers now and I absolutely love them because they make you look as though you've really put a lot of effort into your hair when you've really had that extra five minutes asleep in bed that morning.

The final outfit I've put together features a dress that I think is perfect for those summer days when you want to look somewhere between smart and casual, perhaps for afternoon tea or lunch out, and that's the Inspire Orange Tile Print Skater Dress.  This dress is perfect for those who want to dabble in the floral trend but who are a little shy about wearing full on flowers on their clothes.  I'd suggest choosing a floral hair accessory in a colour to compliment your dress, that way you're pulling the look together and tying flowers into it without wearing all over florals.  For this dress, I think the Coral Exotic Flower Hair Garland would look perfect as has some shades in it that really compliment the colour of the dress and it'll really stand out in your hair.  Wearing flowers in your hair looks really feminine and summery so having a small collection of floral accessories in your stash can help to bring in the floral trend into your outfits.  With this dress, I'd also pair it with the Coral Leather Look T Bar Sandals which are actually the shoes my bridesmaids wore on my wedding day!

How do you wear the floral trend?

WhatLauraWore: Prom Dress on my Bridal Shower

Remember my hen night post?  I did say I would also tell you about some of my other bridal celebrations too and that is what is in todays post as the night before we went cocktail making and out in the limo for my hen night, some very close family friends threw me a bridal shower for my besties and I.

We decided to have a bridal shower purely as a more formal, slightly less wild, bridal get together before my big hen night.  I know they're usually an American thing but they're becoming more and more popular in the UK and it was so lovely to get together with the girls.  I have quite a lot of friends but they're all from different friendship groups so many of them met for the first time at my bridal shower and if you're in a similar situation with your friends then I'd really recommend doing the same as having the bridal shower was a good way for everyone to get to know each other before being together in an even larger group at my hen night.

My friends really spoilt me by being so kind.  They had gone to so much effort making food for an afternoon tea style buffet and we had cocktails and played silly games like pin the tail on Mr WLL!  They asked my now hubby lots of questions and got me to answer them too to see if we would get the same answers and we did, which was reassuring considering I was marrying him a few weeks later!  If you'd like a post on bridal shower games then do let me know in the comments.

For my bridal shower, I really wanted to wear a super pretty dress but I didn't actually buy my outfit until the day before the party.  I was intending to wear something I already had in my wardrobe but I was having one of those moments where nothing in my wardrobe seemed to look right and I didn't feel my best in anything I had.  It sounds so silly but it was getting me down as I was really looking forward to the night but didn't feel as though I'd look the part.  My dad ended up treating me to an outfit which was so special to me and Mr WLL took me out to the Metro Centre to choose it.  I looked into so many different stores before going into Evans as the final, last chance saloon shop on our trip and finding the Scarlett and Jo 2 in 1 Prom Dress.

I cannot begin to tell you how good this prom style dress made me feel.  The black top is quite a close fitting jersey, with a low round neck showing just the right amount of cleavage and three quarter length sleeves which I'm not usually a fan of but they really made my arms look good in this dress.  It then has an elasticated panel that sits high on the waist that really pulls you in and creates an amazing silhouette.  The skirt has a gorgeous floral print with a sort of light woven net style material over a black lining and it is gathered to give that really full prom style.  It feels so gorgeous and girlie to wear.  There's a red poppy one on the Evans website at the moment and I'd definitely get it if I had an event that would warrant it!

I decided to let the skirt of the dress speak for itself and so I chose to pair black accessories with the outfit and added some silver accents to compliment the black.

For my make up, I really wanted to bring out the pink in the dress for a really feminine look so I opted for the Pur Minerals make up products that I reviewed in this post.  On my nails, I used five different Collection Work The Colour nail polishes in varying shades of pink to create an ombre effect and then I picked my favourite, Tropical Pink, to paint my toes with.  I am going to do a post on my nail look very soon as it is perfect for the summer months.

I left the house feeling super gorgeous and I had the best time with my friends.  They mean the world to me and they were so kind and generous, it really overwhelmed me.  If any of you are reading this; I LOVE YOU ALL <3 font="">

Romantic Saturday with Mr WLL

For todays post, I'm actually taking part in the My Single Friend's Romantic Rendezvous Competition which is all about blogging about a particularly romantic moment in your life.  I wanted to share my most recent romantic moment with Mr WLL.

As you know, I'm a super private person and I'm quite guarded about what I talk about on here but I've had a pretty hard time with things over the last 12 months and last week wasn't one of my better weeks.  Mr WLL picked up on this and decided to plan a surprise romantic day out for me on Saturday.

It all started when I was woken up with breakfast in bed of my favourite, Eggs Benedict and fresh orange juice.  It was his first time making them, although you would never know, and I couldn't believe all the effort he had gone to, getting up especially early to go out to get everything, particularly after a hard week at work.

While enjoying breakfast, he popped into the room with this little bag...

I couldn't believe it.  Not much makes me speechless but I didn't know what I'd done to deserve such a surprise, especially as we're currently saving for a house deposit but it certainly put a smile on my face.

Inside the Pandora bag was the Royal Carriage Charm which I have been wanting ever since my wedding day as I told Mr WLL that it reminded me of feeling like a princess on the day, the Eternal Hearts Safety Chain which I absolutely love and the Double Woven Pink Leather Bracelet which is SO cute.  I've been saying for years that I need to get a safety chain for my Pandora as it is completely full now and I don't want to risk losing it.  I thought it was so sweet that he remembered and I felt like an absolute princess, completely spoiled rotten!

Mr WLL then packed up a picnic consisting of home made crudités and dips, tuna salad, antipasti and summer berries and headed out for a drive into the Northumberland countryside with the roof down on the car.  He took me to Kielder Forest where he found a gorgeous little spot for us to sit in and enjoy our picnic before walking hand and hand along the waters edge.

Its so lovely to get away together for the day and enjoy each others company and the romantic day my hubby planned was such a lovely surprise!

What has been your most romantic moment recently?

Designer and Beauty Shopping Haul

Today I wanted to share with you my final haul from my honeymoon to America and Barbados.  Hopefully by now you'll have seen all of my haul posts from my honeymoon trip but in case you haven't, I thought I'd compile all of the individual ones at the end of this post too.

It all started in the airport with a little duty free shopping...

I've been looking for a beautiful kimono for AGES and when I saw the Ameline Printed Kimono in Monsoon I just had to have.  The boho chic look is perfect for the summer months and looks great worn over a cami and jeans.  I love the print which features exotic florals and the bead and sequin detailing around the edge.  Its was a little more pricey than other kimonos I have seen but it is really gorgeous and so worth it.

Mr WLL and I saved up to purchase a new camera at the airport.  We have our DSLR but we wanted a little point and shoot to take on honeymoon with us as although a big fancy pants camera tends to take better photographs, it isn't the most practical for when you're out and about.  We went for the Cannon Powershot S120 with a 16GB memory card to store all of our honeymoon pics on and an Acne Made case in grey and coral to keep the camera well protected in our bag.  So that we could both listen to our iPod at the same time, we picked up one of the Proporta Stereo Splitters.  Next we headed to the beauty area and I bought one of my favourite holiday tan products- the Lancaster Tan Maximiser.  Its an after sun that aims to prolong the length of your tan which I am ALL FOR!  This is a travel exclusive size and was £21.50 so a great saving compared to buying it online and I used this SO much while we were away.

The last things I bought before we got on the plane were a couple of Chanel lipsticks.  The Rouge Coco Shine in the colour Boy which was £20.70 and the Rouge Allure in Supernante which was £21.35- both amazing savings off the usual prices so I'll definitely be picking Chanel lippies up from duty free in future.  I'll do a lip post soon and review both of these for you all.

The last thing that I bought in duty free was the Lalique Satine perfume.  I'd never heard of it until just before my honeymoon when my friend Geri was wearing it.  It smells gorgeous, quite mature and definitely a fragrance I'd wear at night I think.  I'll review this perfume once I've got over this sinusitis and can appreciate the scent of it lol!

Now moving onto the purchases that I made in America and Barbados.  You'll notice that a lot of my purchases are bags and accessories.  I'm not sure whether I've mentioned this before so pardon me if I am repeating myself but I'm trying to slowly whittle down the number of high street bags and accessories that I have in favour of replacing them with their designer counterparts.  Designer goodies are my vice in life (hey, it's better than alcohol isn't it... and probably just as damaging on the bank balance over time) and so rather than have six black clutches from Primark and New Look, I'd like to get to the point where I've just got one black designer clutch which is of superb quality that I can still use when I'm 35 as when I'm 25.  The same goes for other colours and for different accessories.

On that note, lets start with the bags and accessories before moving on to clothes and beauty bits...

Alexander Wang (from Nordstrom)

When I first booked my trip to America, I had my eyes on two things; a Rocco and a Rockie.  While these Alexander Wang bags are still expensive, they are a little bit cheaper in America than they are in the UK and I have wanted them the Rocco in particular for years.  The colours I was looking for was a coral in the Rockie and a lilac grey in the Rocco however the only store I could find to sell them was Nordstrom and even then they didn't have any in store and I had to order it in to that particular shop in the Florida Mall, which was a bit of a pain.

The only bag that they had in the colour that I wanted was the coral Rockie.  They had other coloured Rocco's but I didn't see the point in buying something if it wasn't completely what I wanted.  After a quick look on some of the UK sites, it looks as though I've missed the boat with the particular colour grey Rocco; perhaps it just wasn't meant to be.  The Rockie, however, was a different story and this beautiful baby became mine.

This is the Rockie in the colour soft nectar with pale gold hardware.  It can be worn over the shoulder as a mini duffle bag or across the body with the shoulder strap or it can be held with the handles on the top of the bag.  It zips round to open it and insider the lining is a beautiful soft grey.  There is plenty room inside to fit everything I need and there's some internal compartments too- two pouches to pop a phone and a lippy in and one zipped compartment.  On the side of the bag there is a zipped compartment too that would be great for popping my car keys or phone in so that I don't have to open the bag to get to them.  The soft coral colour is simply perfect for the spring and summer and I already know that I'm going to get so much wear out of it!

You can visit the Alexander Wang online store here and you can also shop on Nordstrom here both in the UK, USA and other countries.

Rebecca Minkoff

I had been looking for a bag to wear on my shoulder for a long time.  I'd seen the Rebecca Minkoff styles online and on other girls blogs but I was really reluctant to buy one without seeing them in the flesh first as I wasn't sure on how they would feel and how they would look against my frame.

While we were away, I went into Nordstrom to look for the AW Rockie and saw the Rebecca Minkoff Mini Mac bags on a stand.  It was love at first sight.

I bought the one on the left first which is in the colour Biscuit and it has rose gold hardware.  This is an ideal bag for day or evening use and it goes with so many different outfits.  The bag on the right is another Mini Mac in the colour Twilight Blue with gunmetal hardware.  This is a really out there colour for me and at first I just bought the biscuit bag but I got back to the hotel and kept lusting after the Twilight Blue colours so when we went back to Nordstrom, I decided to take the plunge and buy it.  I've worn it a few times since I got home and I love it.  I don't have that much that goes with it so if you know of any clothing, shoes or accessories you think would match the bag then PLEASE let me know in the comments!

These were $195 each, plus tax, which is just over £120... I think!  You can order them online from Nordstrom and have them shipped to the UK.  You can also get Rebecca Minkoff bags from Shopbop who offer free international shipping and Little Black Book of Style who are a UK based company.

Ralph Lauren

While we were in the Premium Outlet Mall in Florida, we headed into the Ralph Lauren Factory Store.  I'm a huge fan of Ralph Lauren and have been for years.  I use their polos for the gym and like to layer them up with their jumpers for uni.

We mostly went into Ralph Lauren to look for some clothes for Mr WLL however I spotted some of their socks and had to pick them up as they were a really good priced compared to the UK.  I guess some may think its a little excessive to buy these kinds of socks when we have Primark so cheaply in the UK.  Basically, I used to always buy socks in bulk from places like Matalan and Primark but I found that they wouldn't wash particularly well and I like my socks to be soft and flexible.
I started wearing Calvin Klein socks a couple of years ago and never looked back.  They're a little thicker than the socks I used to buy so they keep my feet warm in the winter but they don't make my feet over heat in the summer.  They feel soft and comfortable on my feet and wash incredibly well.  When I saw that Ralph Lauren had some similar, I invested in those too in lots of different colours.  I don't wear socks very often, only when I'm wearing boots in the winter or trainers throughout the year for the gym, so I don't mind investing in them as I know they'll last.

I bought three of the 3 packs for $11.50 each and one of the 4 packs for $11.50.

The last item I bought from Ralph Lauren was this gorgeous floppy sun hat.  I always think of Jennifer Lopez when I think of large hats like this... I'm not sure why, perhaps she wore one years ago.  I'll be wearing this hat this summer with dresses and cute summer outfits.  I love the white detailing and bamboo ring on the white band.  The hat was $39.99.

Michael Kors

To see my haul of Michael Kors accessories- bags, small leather goods, flip flops and sunglasses, click here.

Kate Spade

One shop that I was really happy to see while I was away was Kate Spade.  I'd heard a lot about Kate Spade online and everything that I'd seen from the shop looked so pretty.  When I went into the store, there was so many beautiful bags and accessories, all in really pretty spring colours like lavender and mint however it was the accessories that I was drawn to.

The Keri Cabana Tile Make Up Bag is an absolutely gorgeous make up bag, mainly because of its super colourful pattern.  I have quite a few large toiletry bags for travelling but I don't really have many make up bags as I don't tend to use them.  I bought this one to use when I carry a larger bag to keep the smaller items in my bag in because I'm sick of having to hunt in the bottom of my bag for headphones or some chewing gum!  This make up bag is really good quality, its like a saffiano leather style and the inside is wipe clean which is great for if any make up products leak in there.  It was $55 dollars from the Kate Spade shop at the Premium Outlets.

I also bought the Darla purse which was on offer for $45.90 down from $85.  This one has saffiano embossing which gives the leather a gorgeous texture.  It has a window on the back to put my driving license in and it opens with a popper closure to reveal a key ring, zipped coin pocket and space for cards and folded notes.  I thought that this would make the perfect purse to take with me on wild nights out as it keeps all of my essentials secure in one place... unless I happen to lose the purse in which case I've lost everything and it was a complete waste of time!

You can shop Kate Spade in the US here and in the UK here.

Louis Vuitton

When we were in Barbados we popped to the Lime Grove shopping centre to have a few drinks in some of the bars that were there.  We went into Louis Vuitton to check out the Neverfulls but I just couldn't choose between the different colour ways so I decided to take a rain check.  However I did pick up a Damier Azure Key Pouch which I've had my eye on for such a long time.  These are great because you can clip your keys on and clip it onto the D Ring of a Louis Vuitton bag.  Also, the pouch is large enough to fit a few cards in or coins.  Keeping your keys in something like this is good if you're using a bag that can be easily scratched as it will protect or if you're using a small clutch or shoulder bag and you need to seriously scale down the contents of your bag.

While in the Florida Mall, we headed into a plus size store called Torrid which is a shop that we don't have in the UK.  I found Torrid to be a pretty strange store in that their online shop is fabulous but the shop itself was so densely packed with clothes, it was hard to see what was available and everything didn't look as attractive as it did when it was organised on the website.  A bit like Yours Clothing in my opinion.  What I also found about Torrid is that it is actually a little overpriced for what it is, although they did have a buy one, get one 50% off deal on.

I bought the Colour Block Knit Maxi Dress which was $68.50 here.  Colour blocking is a huge trend and this one is a very bold but wearable piece.  I love the navy blue, turquoise and white colours which are a combination that I never really wear but really like.  It feels very soft against my skin although the material is very good quality, it doesn't feel too heavy to wear which is great with this hot weather we're having.

I then bought the Floral Chiffon Hi-Low Dress which was $64.50 here.  I've worn this loads since I bought it as I think it is a really different piece and it is great to wear to plus size events in the UK as wearing an American dress greatly reduces the chance of someone else wearing it at the same event.  It has a tank top in black with a high low chiffon skirt covered in gorgeous floral print.  This is probably my favourite dress in my wardrobe at the moment.

Next I headed to Aeropostale which is a shop I've heard a lot about online after vlogger Bethany Mota released a collection with them.  It was only when I came to writing this post that I realised that they now ship to the UK which is great as they had some GORGEOUS pieces in there.
The first item I picked up was actually from the Bethany Mota line and it was the Geo Print Kimono Top for $34.  I love the gorgeous muted colours that are incorporated into this kimono, which really reminds me of a kaleidoscope design and it looks great when worn over white, black or one of the colours that are in the kimono.  It is a really versatile piece that can be worn during the day, night or over swimwear.  I have worn this non stop since getting back from America and even wore it on the plane coming home on top of a pale pink ASOS midi skirt, flip flops and a black peplum cami.

The second item I bought was this Tiger Football Tee.  The sporty top reminded me of the American football style tops and I love the coral colour block detail.  It is 3/4 length with 3/4 length sleeves and made from a super soft terry fabric which is light but warm.  I bought this sporty style to throw on over a cami when I come out of a fitness class.

The last item I bought in Aeropostale was a small bottle of the Aero NYC 1987 fragrance.  What I love about this perfume is that is super light with notes of beach flower and strawberry but it has base notes of velvet musk and driftwood which give it the depth that I like in a fragrance.  It isn't the most long wearing of perfumes but its small size means that I can pop it in my bag and take it out and about with me.

Wet Seal

While we were in the Florida Mall, I spotted shop called Wet Seal who also stocked plus sizes.  I'd definitely recommend checking it out if you're in America as they had some gorgeous pieces.  To see what I picked up, check out my post here.

To see all of the beauty goodies I picked up, check out my Sephora haul in this bumper post here.

Check out my CVS drugstore beauty haul from CVS here.

Bath and Body Works

When you watch beauty girls on Youtube, it is very hard to not get sucked into wanting to visit Bath and Body Works.  I knew I was running out of space in my suitcase so I made a beeline for the candles and bought the two that most appealed to me.  If I visit America again, I'll definitely try out more of a variety of things from Bath and Body Works but for now I have the Mahogany Teakwood and the Watermelon Lemonade 3 wick candles to try out.  They were on offer- 2 for $22 which I think is a really good price given that they're so strongly fragranced and should last a long time.  The Mahogany Teakwood is often said to smell like Abercrombie and Fitch which I can't confirm nor deny but it does smell like a nice man... as strange as that sounds!  I picked it because of the smell but also because of the colour in that it will look really nice in my bedroom.  The Watermelon Lemonade candle smells AMAZING and as it is coral in colour, it will look fabulous in my home office.

Barbados Gift Shop

If you ever visit Barbados, I'd highly recommend the trip where you get to swim with the turtles.  You go out on a gorgeous boat, have lunch and drinks then you get to clamber down from the boat, snorkel and then swim with the turtles.  They're huge and for us it was really a once in a lifetime opportunity.  Before you get on the boat there is a little gift shop and I picked up these beautiful handmade earrings.  They were only cheap but they're well made and look so pretty.  I can't wait to wear them as I've been looking for some special earrings to wear during the day and these are them!

So that's it for my honeymoon America and Barbados haul and I think I can definitely say that this is the largest haul I'll ever do on my blog!

Do let me know what lovely things you've been buying recently, or if you're saving your money up like I am now, what are you saving towards?

Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara Review

It takes a lot for me to love a mascara.  I'm looking for super black, long lasting lashes, with lots of volume, length and a fanned out look grabbing all of my lashes and for a lot of mascaras, that is quite a lot to ask.  I find that I can sometimes tick a lot of my mascara boxes but not all.  However I have found the perfect mascara that ticks ALL of the boxes in the form of the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara.

Too Faced have featured heavily in my make up collection continuously for the last ten years.  I remember saving up my money to buy their eyeshadow palettes because they were so much better than anything else out there and that is a claim I still stand by today.  I've tried everything from Urban Decay to MAC but my favourite eyeshadows and palettes still come from Too Faced.  I've probably bought something from every different make up category from them in the past and if it hasn't been for me to use then it has been as a gift for a friend as I find their products to be pretty fail safe in that they do exactly what they will say they will.  That can also be said for the latest addition to my Too Faced make up collection...

Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara*
The Better Than Sex Mascara caused a bit of a commotion with their mind blowing video starring style icon Jeannie Mai.  Its bold and attention grabbing just like the mascara so before I jump into the review, check out the video below.

So what is all the fuss about?  Well, the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara is packed with collagen to give you larger than life, intense lashes that look defined and lengthened beyond belief.  Too Faced have conducted lots of clinical and customer studies and found that using this mascara gave 1944% more volume, 100% saw longer lashes, 100% saw dramatic volume and 93% saw base to tip curl.  Furthermore, 8 out of 10 said that it was the best mascara they had ever used and I totally second that.

Pretty big claims I'm sure you'd agree and I've made sure that I've given this mascara a thorough road test before blogging about it.  I've been using it solidly for the last two months and I absolutely love it.  It is definitely the best mascara I've ever used- above my previous favourites Clinique High Impact and YSL Faux Cils because it gives incredible volume, separation and length.

The wand is shaped like an hourglass so it is wider at the ends and thinner in the middle.  When you pull the wand out of the tube it looks as though it picks up a lot of product but this isn't overly dispersed onto the lashes, the wand literally evenly distributes just the right amount of product onto the lashes to create gorgeous lengthened, volumised eye lashes.

The brush is quite big as far as mascara wands go and I was worried that I would end up getting the product all over my lids.  However the Better Than Sex Mascara is actually very easy to apply to achieve a faultless application.

The bristles are quite sturdy and I find that the best way to use it is to start at the bottom of the lashes and wiggle upwards slightly as you go.  I start with the outside lashes first and work my way into the corner of my eye.  The packaging for the mascara recommends between one and three coats depending on the amount of fullness you'd like to achieve.  I actually find that I can achieve a gorgeous eye look with only one coat which is perfect for day to day use.  One coat really lengthens and separates the lashes whilst adding lots of volume, particularly at the root.  I find that a second coat adds a little more length and volume and a third increases the volume again.

My lashes without mascara
What you should probably know about my natural lashes is that they're pretty pathetic.  They're incredibly straight, very short and even with most mascaras, they look pretty non existent.

My lashes without mascara
For the first time, I've felt really confident in my lashes without extensions or falsies on and that's because of this mascara.  I find that it works best when I don't curl my lashes first which is good because it saves me even more time when I'm getting ready.  It creates a curl in my lashes that lasts all day.  When I read up about the mascara, I found that it has Acacia Senegal Tree Extract in it which helps to lock the curl in place as well as nourishing and thickening the lashes.  It definitely does keep the curl in place in my lashes and really gives that wide eyed look as the wand coats and curls all of the lashes.

Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara applied to one eye
Generally it wouldn't take me two months to review a mascara as I can usually see whether or not I am going to like it after a few applications but I've purposely waited this long because some YouTube reviews I'd watched online spoke about how the mascara was quite gloopy in formula and that they predicted it would dry out quickly as a result.  While the formula is a little thicker than other mascaras I've used, it hasn't dried out whatsoever and it hasn't become flaky, producing fall out, which are usually signs that a mascara is drying out.

Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara applied to one eye
The Better Than Sex Mascara creates gorgeous blacker than black lashes every time I've used it which really makes my eyes stand out.  The colour is very much a carbon black shade and the formula contains unique peptides that give it the deep, intense black look.  I found that I doesn't have any fall out or smudging either, even when used in very hot weather where sweating is likely.

One coat of the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara
I've just got back from a week in Turkey where I tried out this mascara to the max and for the first time in a years, I went on holiday without eyelash extensions because I knew that I could achieve a gorgeous minimal make up look with long, full lashes using this mascara alone.  I love the way the Better Than Sex Mascara made my eyelashes stand out and stay looking full, fanned out and curled all night, even though it was super hot.

One coat of the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara
The Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara does have a film-forming polymer that is designed to give smudge proof wear, all day wear and it really does work as if there was any time my mascara would smudge it would have been when I was on holiday!.  I don't know whether this would be different on other eye shapes, for example on those with hooded eyes, but on mine, this mascara doesn't smudge at all.

With one coat of the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara and without
The packaging of this mascara is really sturdy.  It comes in a quite a big, metallic pink tube that's easy to hold and use.  It feels really substantial and overall for the packaging and the product itself, I really think that it is worth the £19 price tag.  I wouldn't say that was expensive for a mascara anyway but is higher than a drugstore price... and rightly so as its better than anything else I've tried on the high street.

Two coats of the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara
You can buy it from Look FantasticDebenhams, Sephora and Beauty Bay in the UK and Sephora and Too Faced in America.

So, is it Better Than Sex?  I guess that depends on who your partner is but one thing is for certain, it is better than any other mascara I've ever tried.

Have you tried the Better Than Sex Mascara?  What is your favourite Too Faced product?
