When you're a pastel polishaholic like me, it can be a pretty daunting concept stepping over to the dark side. Looking down at your nails and seeing a deep, velvet hue rather than the soft and creamy pale shade you're used to can be quite a surprise but my experience of this has certainly been a welcome one.
The polish that has encouraged me to try out more dark shades is called Conduct Yourself from the brand China Glaze. This is the first nail polish I've tried from them and I was excited to paint my nails with it as I've heard that the China Glaze polishes are really high quality and have that all important 3-Free formula which means that they are free from chemical nasties such as Formaldehyde, Toluene and DBP.
Conduct Yourself is from the new Autumn 2014 collection at China Glaze which is called All Aboard and has a train theme running through the names of the polishes. If you know me in real life, you'll probably be giggling at this point as I always say that I love trains. Admittedly that sounds ridiculously geeky but I do, they're my favourite mode of transport and I'd love to go on the Orient Express... Embarrassing admission over.
Conduct Yourself is the most beautiful burgundy shade of nail polish. The colour is deep and sophisticated, like a fine wine. There is a subtle red shimmer running through it that appears to be more apparent in the bottle than on the nails. When applied, the shimmer gives the polish a little light and shade and sparkles subtly in bright light.

The polish was easy to apply, albeit a little uneven until the third coat as the formula is a little watery, which also makes it relatively quick to dry between coats. The tapered cap is comfortable and easy to grip and hold during application and the brush is a standard nail polish brush, not overly wide or too thin.
I got mine from NailPolish.co.uk who have an AMAZING selection of nail polishes from the top brands such as China Glaze, Tanya Burr, Essie, Barry M, OPI, Sally Hansen and many, many more. They offer free first class delivery in the UK and their polishes are really affordable. This one from China Glaze is only £4.95!
