Currently Saving For...

Writing a blog involves a lot of searching around the internet.  I see so many beautiful things on a daily basis but it really takes something special for me to go all heart eyed emoji over.

I was putting together my ladies Valentines Day gift guide last night when I came across this bag and I haven't stopped thinking about it since.

The Textured Leather Shoulder Bag by Balenciaga is an absolute beauty.  It is made in Italy using Balenciaga's signature soft vintage textured lambs leather which just looks so soft.  The lilac colour is stunning and really reminds me of one of my favourite nail polishes, Lilac Dream by Models Own.  The lilac colour will be perfect for the summer months but would look equally as gorgeous worn during the winter with black and grey clothing.

With the gold hardware and stud and buckle detailing, this bag is very much inspired by the Balenciaga City Bag that I have lusted after for so long.

It can be worn over the shoulder, across the body or as a clutch with the strap removed.  It has a couple of internal compartments, a detachable vanity mirror and plenty of room inside to store my essentials.  If you watched my 'Whats In My Bag?' video then you'll know that I don't like to carry too much around with me so I don't need a huge bag.

This little beauty seems perfect for me so I am saving up to buy it!

You can buy your own here (and if you do, I am SO happy for you, it is so gorgeous and I can't wait to be bag twins haha).

Are you saving up for anything in particular at the moment?

O'Right Shampoo, Conditioner and Oil Review

O'Right Goji Berry Volumizing Shampoo Conditioner and Hair Oil

For the last 8 months, I have been using a shampoo and conditioner and hair oil from a new haircare brand called O'Right.  I have tried other products in between but as these are such huge bottles, I have always gone back to trying out these products in between testing other things.

The O'Right brand prides itself on being one of the worlds most environmentally friendly hair care brands.  Some of their bottles, when empty, can even be buried in the ground and it will decompose and perhaps grow a tree which is a really cool and environmentally friendly concept.  The packaging of the hair oil that I received also had seeds on to plant and grow!

O'Right hair products contain certified organic ingredients, natural plant extracts, essentials oils and botanicals, powerful antioxidants and amino acids and nourishing vitamins and nutrients.  They're great quality without compromising on ethics!

O'Right Goji Berry Volumizing Shampoo
O'Right Goji Berry Volumizing Shampoo*
The first product that I have been using is the Goji Berry Volumizing Shampoo which contains 96% natural ingredients.

This shampoo is designed for fine and limp hair, which I certainly have, and it aims to cleanse, strengthen and add volume to the hair with the extreme elastic complex that is within the formula.  It has certified organic foaming agents that help to clean the scalp gentle which regulating sebaceous secretions which is ideal for those with oily roots like I have.

The strong influence of Goji Berry in the formula helps to reinforce the hair roots and hair structure to strengthen it.  The Goji Berries in this shampoo and conditioner are antioxidant rich and certified organic.

O'Right Goji Berry Volumizing Shampoo

I absolutely LOVE this shampoo.  It cleans my scalp and hair brilliantly well, especially considering the amount of dry shampoo that I use in my hair!  It is easy to use, lathers up really well and is easy to wash out.

The shampoo has a light fruity smell that does linger on the hair for a little while after using it.  Regardless of whether I blow dry my hair or leave it to dry naturally, this shampoo adds lots of volume to my hair without drying it out or making it feel crispy like many volumising shampoos do.

The shampoo comes in two different sized bottles, a 250ml bottle and a 400ml  bottle like the one I have here.

O'Right Goji Berry Volumizing Conditioner
Goji Berry Volumizing Conditioner*
The Goji Berry Volumizing Conditioner is also designed for fine and limp hair.  It aims to give it some bounce and volume which it certainly does.  After I have used this my hair feels like it has lots of body and volume, regardless of whether I have left it to dry naturally or blow dried it.

After using the conditioner, my hair feels touchably soft but not too fine and fly away.  The conditioner doesn't weigh my hair down and it doesn't make it feel greasy, even when using it right up to the roots of  my hair.

Both the shampoo and conditioner have a beautifully light fruit scent.  I don't find that it lingers on the hair for too long after use but it is pleasant while it lasts!  What does last though, is the volume that they create as it doesn't drop straight away after drying and my hair feels as though it is carrying more volume right through until the next day.

O'Right Goji Berry Volumizing Conditioner

The Goji Berry conditioner comes in a 400ml bottle like the one that I have and a humongous 1000ml bottle.

A little goes a long way with this duo so you will have the bottles for ages.  I would absolutely recommend them to anyone who is looking to add a bit of volume and bounce to their hair.  Although they aren't cheaply priced, their are well worth it, especially for the amount of product that you get.

O'Right Golden Rose Oil
O'Right Golden Rose Oil*
The disappointing product of the bunch for me had to be the O'Right Golden Rose Oil which is designed for colour treated and damaged hair.  It aims to repair the hair cuticles and replenish hair moisture using golden rose essential oil and water soluble silicone which are supposed to help repair cuticle scales to restore tightness and gloss in the hair.

This hair oil features innovative micron technology which enables it to be absorbed easily without leaving the hair feeling oily which I do agree with.  I have tried this on both wet and dry hair and have found it to be more effective on wet hair and there is a slight difference in the manageability of my hair after using it and in how sleek it is when it dries.  However I didn't notice much of a lasting difference at all when applied in dry hair.  It would make my hair look a little more glossy for a couple of hours and then it would look normal, as though I hadn't used it.  On the plus side, it didn't make my hair feel greasy or more oily which is always a bonus!

In all honesty, I wouldn't repurchase this hair oil as I don't think that it works effectively enough and at £27 for 100ml, I think that it is over priced for what it does to my hair.  I guess I have been too spoilt with my Macadamia Healing Oil Treatment which my hair literally drinks up.  I would recommend this one over every other hair oil that I've ever tried.

This is what my hair looks like after using the Goji Berry Volumizing Shampoo and Conditioner and the Golden Rose Oil.  Lots of natural looking volume!

You can check out the range of O'Right products on their website here.

Trilogy Very Gentle Calming Serum Review

Trilogy Very Gentle Calming Serum Review Skincare Natural Organic

I don't know about you but I am sick of the cold weather now.  I've been slicking on the berry lipstick and pulling on my ear muffs for far too long and quite frankly, I'm in need of a bit of sunshine, flip flops and pina colada.

My usually very oily skin has really dried out this winter and although it is still oily, it is much drier than usual and even more dehydrated than usual.  To combat this, I have been trying out some new skincare and have added a new serum into my routine.

A serum can slot into your current skincare routine very easily as it is a complimentry product, not something that you would substitute your regular products for.  Simply cleanse, tone, apply your eye cream and put your serum on before you apply your moisturiser.

The one that I have been using is the Trilogy Very Gentle Calming Serum which is exactly how it is described- gentle and calming.  It combines natural spring water with Chamomile and Calendula extracts for their calming benefits and plant oils for their moisture- repairing benefits.  The formula also includes a breakthrough botanical complex known as SyriCalm which is proven to help to reduce skin inflammation, which is associated with ageing, and to strengthen the skins barrier function.  This is particularly suited to sensitive skins as they tend to have a weakened skin barrier.

If you're someone who has intolerant skin or skin that is sensitive and easily irritated then this serum would be ideal for you as it feels very calming and comfortable on the skin.  I found that it didn't irritate my skin or make it red and while I don't have particularly sensitive skin, I don't think that there is anything in it that would irritate that skin type.  It is a very non-offensive and doesn't have a strong scent or anything like that.

Trilogy Very Gentle Calming Serum Review for Sensitive Skin Natural Organic Skincare
Trilogy Very Gentle Calming Serum*
The serum is light weight and has a slight milky colour to it.  It applies lightly and sinks into the skin quickly without leaving a sticky residue on the skin.  I tend to apply this on a morning before my moisturiser, if I am wearing one, as while it does feel hydrating on the skin, it is not moisturising enough, in my opinion, to be worn solely as the only moisturising product on the skin.

When I apply it, it feels quite cooling and it really seems to have a soothing effect on the skin which I particularly like if I've used it after exfoliating my skin with a chemical exfoliator.  As the texture is light weight and quick to dry, this serum is a great layering product and sits really well underneath my current moisturiser.  I don't tend to use it at night as I prefer something a little more heavy duty such as the Trilogy Rosehip Oil Antioxidant+.

The Very Gentle Calming Serum is available from the Trilogy website, Look Fantastic and Feel Unique (at the time of writing, it is on sale here and if you enter the Feel Unique discount code SALEONSALE10 you'll get an extra 10% off this weekend only).

ASOS and Jack Wills Valentines Gift Ideas for Him

Right now, I am currently trawling the ASOS website to find some Jack Wills mens clothes for my hubby's birthday next week.  It is one of his favourite brands and while I would usually order from the official website to get a larger discount (my university discount still works!) but in all honesty, I've left it a little late and I'm worried that the items wont come in time.

The ASOS Premier delivery will come to my rescue though as I know that if I order today, it'll be delivered tomorrow and all will be right in my world.  February is a bit of an expensive time for me as I have his birthday, Valentines Day and our anniversary all within a couple of weeks of one another.  The only saving grace is that a lot of the sales are still on and I managed to pick up some amazing deals on his fave day wear brand.

Before I hit order, I wanted to show you the things that I have bought him because with Valentines Day coming up, I think that they would make a nice gift for the man in your life.

I've already got him a watch and tickets as his main birthday gift but I saw the soft Earlsfield Jumper with Moss Stitch in charcoal marl and thought that it would make the perfect gift for him as it is smart enough to wear out for dinner on the night of his birthday.  This kind of jumper is one that he can easily dress up or down and with some nice jeans or chinos, it would look really put together.  This is important to Mr WLL as he likes outfits he can take from day to night because we often go out late afternoon and stay out into the evening, cinema and dinner dates are our thing.  To wear underneath the jumper, I got him a white Jack Wills slogan tee.

The Westmore T-Shirt with Jack Wills Print would be a perfect gift for Valentines Day as it is in a gorgeous shade of red with white lettering.  There are other colour ways available in this t shirt but I think that this would make a really cute Valentines gift with some choccies and a little bottle of aftershave wrapped in red tissue paper!

We both love our PJs and usually as soon as we get home we get changed into our jarmies and lounge wear because they're much more comfortable to relax in.  I thought that Jack Wills Whiston Lounge Shorts would be ideal for him, especially with the warmer weather coming up as the majority of his lounge bottoms have long legs, plus they are in his favourite colour, red.  Although I got this as a birthday gift, I think it would make a great Valentines gift.  If you're planning on having a cosy night in with a movie and take away then perhaps choose some lounge wear for your man and wrap them up with a DVD and a bottle of bubbles!

So that's everything that I got Mr WLL to go towards his birthday and Valentines Day gifts but there's plenty more fashion from a wide choice of brands on the ASOS website.  Let me know what your favourite pieces are in the comments!

My Top 5 Smooth Skin Bathtime Essentials

Products for smooth skin

On Sunday, I was getting ready to go a day date with Mr WLL.  He passed a comment along the lines of 'ooh isn't your skin smooth' as he was fastening my necklace to save my freshly manicured nails from a fate worse than death.

It got me thinking about my smooth skin essentials and what I do to keep my skin soft and smooth.  Smooth skin isn't something that's particularly revolutionary for me as I've always followed these tips and have therefore almost always had smooth skin, for as long as I can remember at least.

Keeping my skin smooth is important for me because it helps me to feel put together and prepared for any fashion eventuality.  If stay on top of keeping my skin hair free and smooth, I can pop on any outfit in my wardrobe without worrying that I need to do my legs or rid my skin of dead cells!

Of course there are lots of ways to make your skin smooth out of the water but, for me, it all starts in the bath and I thought that it was about time I shared my top tips with you and the essentials that I use in the bath to achieve and maintain my smooth skin.

Products for smooth skin

Let me start with the indispensable products that I keep in my shower and around the side of my tub.  They're all very quick and easy to use, even when I'm having a very quick bath and they're all affordable options that really make a noticeable difference to my beauty routine.

First of all is a product that I use in and out of the water.

Essential One: Body Brush

EcoTools Bamboo Bristle Brush
EcoTools Bamboo Bristle Brush*
A body brush is an essential for me because it helps me to be able to exfoliate the areas of my back that I can't twist to reach.  I also find it to be very useful when sun tanning to exfoliate the skin while it is dry, before hopping under the water to wash, then dry and apply an intense moisturiser.  I've tried body brushing in the past with small, round hand held brushes but I find ones designed like this one from EcoTools to be much easier to use thanks to the long handle.

Aside from helping to slough away peeling sun drenched skin, dry body brushing is good for combating cellulite and using a brush with a long handle like this one certainly takes away the awkward twisting that I've done in the past while trying to dry brush my body before getting in the bath.  However I mostly use the body brush for its exfoliating benefits rather than for its effect on cellulite as I do not believe that dry body brushing alone will eliminate the orange peel effect on the skin.  While dry body brushing is obviously completed before coming into contact with water, the EcoTools Bamboo Bristle Brush can also be used in the water too.

I use the long handled body brush mostly for scrubbing my back while I'm in the bath to exfoliate it and to make sure it is thoroughly clean and exfoliated as surprisingly, it is an area that is easy to neglect when you cannot reach it easily.  Before I started using a long handled body brush, the only time that my back would get a very good exfoliation would be when I would pay for a full body scrub in a spa, so using a brush like this is certainly a much cheaper option for me.

For exfoliation, I will gently scrub my back with the Bamboo Bristle Bath Brush when my back is either dry or a little damp and for general cleaning I'll pop a little shower gel on the brush and then use it when my back is a lot more wet.

The brush is so easy to use and the bristles are soft but abrasive which I love because it means that I can vary the pressure that I use for a gentle or more abrasive scrub, making it ideal for when I have drier patches of skin on my body.  I tend to use two to three times per week although I do alternate with a manual exfoliator depending on how my skin looks and feels.

I couldn't be without my body brush and you can buy your own from Boots.

Essential Two: Nair Hair Removal Cream

Nair Tough Hair and Argan Oil Shower Power Hair Removal Cream
Nair Tough Hair and Nair Argan Oil Shower Power Cream*
Before jumping into the bath or shower, I use hair removal cream on all of the areas of my body that I want to remove hair from, usually my legs, bikini line and underarms.  The only brand that I use for hair removal is Nair, which you will know if you've been reading my blog for a long time.

Nair products are extremely effective at removing hair and keeping my skin smooth but very gentle at the same time.  I have never had an adverse reaction to any of their hair removal creams, including their ones designed specifically for the bikini line (review hereand for the ol' girl tash (review here).

The two that I have in my routine at the moment are the Tough Hair that I have been using for years and the new Argan Oil Shower Power Cream that I received to try out from Nair.

I'll start with the Tough Hair as you might remember me using this one way back in my 'how to get party perfect legs post' and I am still repurchasing it.  Tough Hair is Nair's souped up formula designed to rid your body of even the toughest of hair.  If you have particularly coarse or dark hair then this is definitely the hair removal cream for you.  While I am happy to use this all over my body, I particularly like it for the tops of my legs and my bikini line where I find my hair to be more coarse.  If you're someone who has shaved for many years, your hair may be more coarse and Tough Hair may be the right hair removal cream for you.

Tough Hair removes the hair in around 7 to 8 minutes without irritating my skin at all and leaving it feeling smooth and moisturised thanks to the Rice Oil and Grape Seed extract in the formula.

While there will always be space in my bathroom for Tough Hair, the Argan Oil Shower Power Cream for dry and sensitive skin has really stolen my heart because it leaves my skin even softer and smoother than the other Nair products.  The super softening formula contains a blend of Argan Oil, Jojoba Oil and Cocoa Butter to leave the skin soft as well as smooth.

I apply this hair removal cream in the same way as the Tough Hair.  It does come with a spatula to help with the application but I find it easier to just spread on a layer with my hands.  The difference with the Argan Oil hair removal cream compared to many of the others available is that it is designed to be used in the shower in that it will stay on the legs, unless stood directly under the flow of the water.  I apply it about 3 to 4 minutes before getting into the shower, a couple of minutes longer if I'm having a bath, and then I get into the shower, wash and condition my hair and then remove the hair removal cream with the spatula that you get in the box.

I find that I get a much smoother result using hair removal cream than shaving and it isn't any more time consuming as I only need to use the hair removal cream every six days.  Both of the hair removal creams, in fact all of the ones I've tried from Nair, remove all of my unwanted hair, without causing ingrown hairs, rashes or cuts on my legs.  My legs are left feeling smooth and looking silky!

Nair products are available from Boots and Superdrug.

Essential Three: Gritty Exfoliators

Super Facialist by Una Brennan Rose Hydrate Brighten and Refine Facial Scrub Soap and Glory Breakfast Scrub Boots
Super Facialist by Una Brennan Rose Facial Scrub and Soap & Glory Breakfast Scrub
When it gets down to the nitty gritty, smooth skin cannot be achieved without a bit of manual exfoliation.  Using a sugar or salt scrub on your body helps to work that little bit harder at sloughing away the dead skin cells and smoothing the roughest areas of your skin, which for me is my knees, elbows and heels.

I like scrubs that are densely packed with exfoliating particles as I find that they work the best at smoothing my skin.  If you're looking for a gentle scrub then use them under the water in the shower but if you're really looking for an abrasive exfoliation then do what I do and turn off the running water.  Dampen your skin but don't stand under the stream of water as this will dilute the product and wash most of it away.  Rub the scrub into your skin in circular motions and cover all of the areas that you can comfortably reach, as you can always pop a little of the scrub onto the EcoTools Bamboo Bristle Brush to cover areas such as the middle of your back.  Again, use your hand in circular motions as you wash away the exfoliator from your skin.

It goes without saying that you should be using separate products for your face and body.  Some body products contain ingredients that can clog the pores on your face and the exfoliating particles are not ground up to the same extent as face products so they can also scratch your skin.

I really like finely ground face scrubs as I find that they are the most effective for my skin.  The ones that I am using at the moment are the Goldfaden MD Doctor's Scrub which is extortionately priced but extortionately fabulous and the Superfacialist by Una Brennan Brighten and Refine Facial Scrub that I reviewed here which is a much more affordable option and the best scrub I've used from the drugstore in years.

For body scrubs, I don't think you can go far wrong with Soap and Glory.  The Breakfast Scrub and Sugar Crush are my favourites as they're moisturising too.

Essential Four: Lazy Moisturisers

My fourth bath time essential for smooth skin are lazy moisturisers.  While I try to make the effort to moisturise my body daily, it can sometimes be a chore, especially after a long day.  If you feel the same way or feel as though you have no time to add this step into your routine then moisturising my lazy way is better than not moisturising at all.

Simply add some body oil to your bath water and soak in it.  Then when you get out of the bath, pat your skin dry rather than rubbing it and you'll find that the oil in your bath water will have moisturised your skin.  I've reviewed loads of oils that you can use in the bath from the super affordable Johnsons Baby Oil (review hereto the Argan+ Dry Body Oil (review here) which is my current favourite.

While I'd never suggest moisturising in this way alone, it works really well when used together or alternated with a body butter to maintain your smooth skin.  I tend to do this once a week and never in the bath at the same time as I'm removing the hair from my legs.

Essential Five: Routine, Routine, Routine

My last smooth skin bath time essential isn't a product as such, its you as you're the one who can ensure your skin is silky smooth.  You only have one body and its the only one you're going to get so look after it by setting yourself a routine.

Maintaining smooth skin is pretty easy when you keep your essential products in the shower and by the bath tub with you so just make sure that you make a mental note to use them and if you need to, write them down!  Mine changes all of the time depending on the temperature outside and what I've been up to, such as sun bathing, false tanning, walking outside, etc, but what doesn't change is using the products that I have religiously as once you're in a routine, it is so quick and easy to maintain.

At the moment I generally use hair removal cream every six days, body brush every other day or every third day and manually exfoliate on the other days if my skin needs it and I use a bath oil once a week, usually on a Sunday as that's when I tend to pamper myself with a hair and face mask.

Do let me know what your routine is like and what your tips for smooth skin are in the comments!

Mini Escentual Hair & Make Up Haul

Ojon Rare Blend Deep Conditioner Revitalizing Flexible Hairspray

Today I've got a really quick little haul for you that was totally encouraged by one of my very good friends.  She works on a make up and hair counter and gave me a sample of the Rare Blend Deep Conditioner from Ojon while I was in there buying some shampoo.  I tried it out on a mini break and was literally blown away at how amazing it worked on my hair.  Essentially, it is a deep conditioner designed to intensely repair dry and damaged hair, using a blend of 7 rare oils, including Ojon Oil, African Shea, Brazilian Muru Muru and Indian Kokum butters.

I'd used it on my hair and extensions when it was feeling extremely dry after a week of aqua fit in my local pool.  I couldn't seem to get the life and softness back to my hair but when I used this conditioner, my hair was transformed and the feeling lasted for a couple of days until I washed my hair again.  I really want to see how this product performs in the long term after the sample was so effective which was what prompted this little haul.

I headed over to the Escentual website intending to buy just one full size but I ended up getting two as they are currently offering a free 265ml (full size) can of their Revitalizing Flexible Hairspray with the purchase of two Ojon hair products.  I have been using the hairspray for a few weeks now and have a full review of it coming up very soon.  I also bought a smaller size for my friend to try as she had been complaining of having dry hair too and I'd raved about how good my sample of this was.  I just hope she likes it as much as I did!

The Ojon Rare Blend Deep Conditioner is available here for £7 for the 30ml size and £30 for the 150ml size.

Dior Diorblush in Redissimo Escentual Blusher

I must admit that while I was on the Escentual website I was tempted into purchasing a new blusher.  I don't have a single high end blusher in a red shade, only one in a palette that isn't too intensely pigmented and a completely different shade to this one.  So I took a gamble in ordering the Dior Diorblush in Redissimo.

I'll have a full review of this up very soon but so far, I am really impressed with it.  The colour is intensely pigmented, buttery soft and the most beautiful colour I've found in a red blusher.  Look out for this in a make up post very soon!

The Dior Blush in Redissimo is available here for £27.

You can shop the Escentual site here.

Dr Organic Aloe Vera Lip Balm Review

Dr Organic Aloe Vera Lip Balm Review

When it comes to the winter months, I slather lip balm onto my lips left right and centre, even more so than I do during the summertime.  I've got to say that the cold weather has really taken its toll on my skin this year, more so than in previous years as my usually very oily skin has actually become quite dry, my lips included.

The Dr Organic Aloe Vera Lip Balm has come to my rescue.  It came in the post just before Christmas and I have leant on it like a crutch ever since.

The Aloe Vera lip balm comes in stick form which I much prefer to a pot as it is so fuss free and easy to use.  I am much more likely to continuously use something if it isn't messy to use which is exactly what I've done with this lip balm.

Dr Organic Aloe Vera Lip Balm Review

What I like the most about this lip balm is the way that it feels when applied to my lips.  Too many lip balms feel slippy and almost greasy on the lips whereas this one really does feel balmy.  It has a solid texture in the stick that warms on contact with the lips to leave quite a substantial layer that feels immediately moisturising on the lips.  It doesn't feel greasy or sticky in the slightest which makes it great as a base for applying other lip products on top of (particularly matte lippies like MAC's Ruby Woo).

The soothing properties of the aloe vera in this lip balm really became apparent when applying it on my lips when they were feeling a little chapped and weather beaten after being out in the snow.  I really felt as though my lips were soothed and deeply nourished which stopped them from really drying out further.  I'd forgotten to apply it that morning as I was in a rush to get out of the door and I really think that the lip balm helped to rescue my lips when I got home!  Needless to say, I have been applying it morning, noon and night religiously ever since.

Unlike a lot of lip balms and Vaseline type products, the Dr Organic Aloe Vera Lip Balm really does feel as though it is doing my lips some good when I use it as I can see and feel a noticeable difference in the hydration of my lips.  It is pretty long lasting too and I only need to reapply it a couple of times throughout the day depending on how often I've eaten and drank.

Aside from the Organic Aloe Vera, it also contains Shea Butter, Beeswax and Vitamin E which are all known for their hydrating and moisturising properties.  It also has SPF 15 which is helpful to protect the lips from the suns UVA and UVB rays.  As the stick of lip balm is pretty solid, I think this one would be great for taking away to hotter climates as well as I don't think it would melt as easily as some other lip balms I've used in the past!

Dr Organic Aloe Vera Lip Balm Review

You can find out more about the Aloe Vera line from Dr Organic here and buy your own lip balm from Holland and Barrett for a purse friendly £3.49.  At the time of writing, Dr Organic products are currently on buy one get one half price so snap up a bargain while you can!

What is your favourite lip balm to use at this time of the year?  Do you have any other favourite products from Dr Organic that you think I should try out?

Trilogy Rosehip Oil Antioxidant+ Review

Trilogy Rosehip Oil Antioxidant+ Review Natural Organic Skincare

Remember the Trilogy event that I went to a couple of months ago?  Well another product that I was given to try out was the Trilogy Rosehip Oil Antioxidant+.  I have tried the original oil, Trilogy's signature product and an ingredient in many of their skincare products, before but this a new and improved version that provides daily antioxidant protection.

Trilogy Rosehip Oil Antioxidant+ Review Natural Skincare Proven Results

The Trilogy Rosehip Oil Antioxidant+ is a facial oil that truly is 100% natural and organic.

Trilogy have created Rosapene, which combines powerful skin restoring and protecting ingredients to enhance and improve the appearance of the skin, making it look younger and healthier.  It is a blend of red berry seed oil which provides antioxidant protection everyday that you use it as well as intensive nourishment to the skin.

Antioxidants such as Lycopene (from tomatoes) and Phytosterol (from Acai) are included within the formula because of their potent ability to help to protect the skin from environmental free radicals that can cause premature skin ageing.  Omegas 3 and 6 from Cranberry and Rosehip were chosen to be included as they're essential fatty acids that can help to nourish and renew the skin while Oat extract rich in vitamins and minerals helps to provide a soothing and luxurious feel as the oil smooths onto the skin.

Trilogy Rosehip Oil Antioxidant+ Review Natural Skincare Proven Results

To use the oil, I massage a few drops over my face, then down onto my neck and d├ęcolletage, adding extra drops if needed.  A little bit of this oil goes a long way, even though it isn't a particularly liquidy oil, and the pipette enables you to dispense just the right amount of product that you need which reduces wastage.

I apply it after I have cleansed and before my moisturising cream.  For my skin, I tend to use it at night only or during the day if I do not intend to wear make up that day, or until later on that day.  My skin is super oily so I find that layering too many products onto my skin on a morning can affect the longevity of my make up so instead, I like to layer up with super hydrating products like this oil at night time.

The oil smooths onto the skin with ease and leaves my skin feeling instantly nourished and soft.  It does absorb into the skin quickly but some of it does sit on the skin too on my T zone.  This just gives my skin a healthy glow and when I wake up in the morning, I find that the oil has sank into my skin completely with a natural healthy glow remaining.  This oil is particularly soothing if I have any redness on my skin and I find that it particularly helped to reduce the redness and dry skin around my red nose after blowing it a lot this winter when I had a cold!  I have also noticed that it helps my skin to heal quicker after blemishes that have appeared on my skin (and I have squeezed... naughty I know).

While it may be a little heavy to use daily during the summer months, I think that the Trilogy Rosehip Antioxidant+ Oil is an absolute saviour for the colder months.

Trilogy Rosehip Oil Antioxidant+ Review

I do have a few friends who I have given samples of this oil to to try out and they have used it morning and night with no problems whatsoever.  They have all raved about it which I was so happy to hear as they're all completely different ages and have drier skin than I do.

One of my besties tried this recently after her skin was very dry, particularly on her forehead between her eyes and she noticed a massive difference in her skin after a good exfoliation and using this oil for only one week!

So I guess you could say that it gets a big thumbs up from all of us!

The Trilogy Rosehip Oil Antioxidant+ is available from Feel Unique (this is currently the cheapest price that I've found online here and if you use the Feel Unique discount code SHOPFORTY you will save £5 when you spend £40 this weekend), Look Fantastic, John LewisBoots and from the Trilogy website.

Have you tried this product and if so, what did you think of it?  What is your favourite facial oil?

NYX Wicked Dreams Palette Review and Swatches

NYX Wicked Dreams Palette Review Eyeshadow

The NYX Wicked Dreams Palette is one of the most diverse and versatile palettes I own.  Whilst I do have some palettes that include an even more diverse selection of colours, the majority aren't wearable shades (Urban Decay Deluxe Eyeshadow Box, I'm looking at you).  Where as in this palette, there are 24 eye shadows and they're all pretty wearable, aside from the couple of brighter blues that wouldn't be better placed on my eyelids fifteen years ago.7

The shadows are encased in a sleek black palette that opens to reveal a huge mirror that is perfect for make up application on the go and for travelling and two eyeshadow sponge applications that admittedly, I'll never use.

The shades range from pale through to deep and dark and thanks to the mixture of finishes (matte, shimmer and satin), the amount of looks that you can create with this palette is endless.

I found that when swatching the shades, they don't all appear to be equally as pigmented as each other, particularly some of the lighter shades which appear to be really pale.  There is also a difference in how evenly they swatch as well.  However when applied to the eyes, they appear to be really nicely pigmented and even, especially when I apply an eye primer underneath like the Nars Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base.

Here I have swatched each shadow in order of the rows that they appear in in the palette.

As you can see there is a good mix of wearable shades and finishes and the pigmentation of some of the shadows, such as the matte black on the second row really rival the pigmentation of some of the shades from my higher end palettes.

The great thing about the colour choices in this palette is that there are some brighter shades mixed with a wide range of neutrals.  This makes it much easier to incorporate those brighter colours into an eye make up look than if the palette were to have only bright shades in it.  While I'm not necessarily a fan of blue shades, for example, having them mixed alongside neutrals will increase the chance of me using them for a pop of colour on my eyes as I can blend a little bit of it into an eye make up look that has used the other neutral shades in the palette.

My favourite eye look to create with this palette is using the cream colour on my brow bone followed by the gold/bronze and brown shades on my eyelid.  I also like making smokier looks using the darker brown and green shadows as they look really nice with hazel eyes.

I think that these eyeshadows are pretty long lasting, especially if I use my Nars primer, and I haven't found them to crease on my eyelids at all.  They're very easy to blend, even the darker shades, and I have found that the shadows are buildable, especially the lighter shades that don't appear to be very pigmented in the swatches above.

While I am a lover of my higher end palettes, I think that this NYX one really gives them a run for their money and I would certainly recommend it for those who are wanting to experiment with eyeshadow and try out different looks.

NYX as a brand are ideal for those who are starting out with make up as their products are very affordable and theres so much to choose from.  I've tried a few different products from NYX and I am yet to be disappointed.

The NYX Wicked Dreams Palette is available here in the UK, where they're also offering free delivery on orders over £35 and here in the USA.
