Yesterday afternoon, we headed to the cinema to see American Sniper. We have cinema passes that we pay for monthly which makes cinema dates very cheap for us so if you see me posting on Twitter about going to see yet another film, that's why!
I wanted to wear something dressed down but still cute and so I opted for a jumper, jeans and trainers combo. The jumper that I'm wearing is the stunning Embellished Neck Jumper from JD Williams and I've got to say that I am loving their plus size knitwear right now. I'm really excited to feature this brand on my blog because their sizes run from 8 through to 36 and although that isn't in all of their pieces, I think that their sizes overall will fit the majority of my readers.
I have this warm jumper in the pretty mid lilac shade but it is also available in a really cute pale spearmint colour which I am SO tempted to buy as I love mint shades, especially during the spring. I actually find it pretty difficult to find amazing pastel coloured clothing available in plus size so I am so happy that I have come across these. Pastels just look so feminine and girlie, they're really my favourite colour palette. I can't wait to pair this jumper with my favourite lilac nail polish; Lilac Dream by Models Own!
I am actually watching Celebrity Big Brothers Bit On The Side as I type this and there's an interview with Katie Price before she went into the house and she's actually wearing the mint version of this jumper!
Anyway, I digress...
What initially drew me to this jumper, aside from the pretty colour, was the beautiful embellished neckline. White and clear coloured jewels and diamantes are layered onto a lilac coloured net which provides a subtle and sparkly contrast to the fine knit of the jumper. This is the perfect piece for winter days going into the springtime where you're wanting to wear something a warm garment but in a pastel colour. I found the jumper to be a little small fitting so I was pleased that I sized up when ordering, as I found it to be quite short in the body. Then again, this is an area that I tend to struggle with as I have a long body and short legs!
I paired this gorgeous jumper with some black pull on jeggings and my white leather converse trainers that I customised myself. Unless I'm in the gym, I'm not someone who wears trainers a lot, mostly because they don't go with a lot of my outfits and I'm not actually a fan of wearing socks so I usually prefer little shoes that I can slip on. However I love how comfortable Converse are and these look really girlie, especially after I customised them for a very special occasion with ribbons and diamantes.
The bag that I'm carrying is the Rebecca Minkoff Mini Mac in Twilight with gunmetal hardware that I got from Nordstrom when on my honeymoon last year. I absolutely love the colour of it but it does prove quite difficult to find items to wear it with as the colour is so unusual. I think that it pairs beautifully with the lilac of this jumper.
If you're someone who takes a lot of photos you'll understand what I mean when I say that the natural lighting at the moment is shocking! These photos were taken early afternoon and regardless of whether I stood in the shade or in the light, the glare from the sun was too strong in the photographs which is so annoying! Head on over to the JD Williams website to appreciate the true beauty of the colour of this jumper!
