One of my favourite hairstyles to wear when I'm going out are these sweeping sleek curls. They're bouncy, full of volume but smooth and sleek.
This look is perfect for Valentines Day if you're going out with your partner as they're soft and sophisticated but you can easily add a little more oomph if you're saying hell to relationships and hitting the town with the girls.
Today I'm going to explain to you how I get this look and the three top products that I use to achieve it. Without this combination of products, particularly the Fudge Urban Miracle Ends, I would not be as happy with the outcome of my hair, they really help to lock the style in place and make the curls as sleek as they are.

GHD Style Total Volume Foam |
I also add a small amount of the Fudge Urban Miracle Ends through the ends of my hair which helps to smooth the ends of my hair as I'm blowdrying them.
I then rough dry my hair until it is about 75% dry before going in with a big round brush to blow dry my hair out and round, heading away from my face.
Once my hair is dry, I section it off to curl it. You can use whichever curling tool you like whether it be a tong or a wand. To curl my hair, I use the Enrapture Totem Styler (on setting 3-3-3) which I couldn't recommend more highly as it is the best one I have ever used. Get 60% off this curling wand here.
Creating this look with clip in extensions
I have shoulder length hair so I have clip in extensions which I curl separately. As this look is mostly about having curls from the bottom of the ears down to the ends of the hair, if you have short hair and are using extensions, you should be looking to loosely curl your whole head, in large sections in differing directions. For the hair around your face, I'd suggest taking smaller sections and curling them a little tighter and away from the face. Curl your hair extensions in their entirety, starting from the bottom and going all of the way up them, in large sections.
Once you have curled your own hair and your extensions separately, it is time to clip them in. I would recommend sectioning off the majority of your hair so that you're left with an inch deep piece at the top of your neck. Lightly back comb this section of hair and fold it under itself and pin it in place so that it creates a cushion sort of pad. This stops you from having shorter hairs poking through the underside of your hair extensions which is most peoples tell tale sign that they're wearing them. The just clip in your extensions as you usually would.
Creating this look with naturally long hair
If you have long hair and aren't using clip in extensions then section your hair into three rows and curl from the bottom of the hair upwards. You may need more rows if your hair is very thick. This is so that the curls are tighter at the bottom and get more loose towards the root. When you get to the top section of your hair, only curl up until the tops of your ears, making the loop of hair that you curl between your ear lobe and the top of your ear more lose (don't wrap it around the wand or tong as tightly). This is what makes the curls more loose at the top and tighter at the bottom. For the front of your face, make sure you're curling away from your face and in smaller sections to give that sweeping effect.

Fudge Urban Miracle Ends* |
This has to be one of my favourite hair products at the moment because it works superbly well whether it is on my hair when I have first washed it or by day three. It has a delicious iced tropical cocktail scent to it which is simply divine. Fudge Urban do the best smelling hair products I've ever come across.
When I use it on wet hair, it helps to smooth the ends of my hair and seal my split ends which greats a sleek look when my hair is blowdried. This product is brilliant at de-frizzing the hair so if you suffer with frizzy hair, particularly the underneath sections then it is a must try. I use it on my hair once it is dry as well to condition my hair further and to make my hair look even more sleek. It contains Argan Oil which helps to repair and condition the hair and I do think that it works as my hair, and extensions, certainly feel softer after using it.
I section off the top section of my hair either side of my parting and across the back of my hair and then lift and tease each section of my hair very gentle. If I was using this as a girls night out style look then I would add more back combing but as this is more of a date night look, then I only add some light teasing to the underside of the top section of my hair. As well as adding additional volume to the hair, it also helps to disguise the clip in hair extensions underneath by making the hair sitting on top of the join a little more textured.
I let down the sections of hair that I have teased and then lightly brush over the top section of my hair to ensure that it still looks smooth. After massaging my roots a little with my finger tips, I spray my hair with my new favourite hair spray from Fudge Urban, starting by gently lifting the top sections of my hair as I lightly spray the hair spray and then letting them go and lightly spraying all of my hair. When hair spraying the front sections of hair, I'd recommend holding them away from the face and then using the hair spray on them to encourage the hair to stay in that swept back position.

Fudge Urban Iced Raspberry & Vanilla Hair Spray* |
The hold is very strong with this hair spray and I never need to touch it up throughout the day or my night out yet it still keeps the hair feeling touchably soft and very natural. I love the scent of this hair spray as the vanilla and raspberry scent lingers on the hair after use and it doesn't smell of chemicals at all or have that typical hairspray scent that really gets on my chest!
So that's how I create these gorgeous swept back sleek curls, reminiscent of the Victoria's Secret hair style which has become many of the models signature look.
I've got to say that I am SO impressed by the Fudge Urban hair products. These are the first ones I've tried from the brand and I'd repurchase them indefinitely. They're just as good, if not better than high end products that I have used and I can't believe that they're so affordably priced. Along with the Enrapture Totem Styler, they're definitely up there with my favourite products of all time.
