Sometimes, I just can't resist a little shoe shopping and I must admit, I have been doing it quite often lately. I'm a firm believer that many girls are either shoe lovers or handbag lovers and while I'm usually the latter, I've recently been focused on reinventing my shoe wardrobe with some on trend pieces and some higher quality items.
The first purchase was the Michael Kors Fulton Moc Slip On Shoes in jet black with gold hardware. I'll address the cost first as I know that there will be some who may gasp when they click on the link. These were expensive. Well, for me and my budget, they were pricey. I wouldn't usually ever spend that much on a pair of shoes, especially flats. I've only ever spent that kind of money on Ugg boots and even then, they were as gifts with Christmas money etc. However for years I've spent money on flats from Primark that haven't lasted very long as they aren't really made for longevity and also I find that if I am walking for a long time, my feet can hurt in some flats. I've discovered that this is because of the sole being thin and I can literally feel every stone on the ground. Being a lot heavier than the average person doesn't help at all but it really gets me down when my feet are killing me in flats and I cant walk or stand for very long, especially when I'm out with my friends who don't have that problem.
The day I bought these shoes, I had searched every shop in the Metro Centre and I just couldn't find any simply black shoes that were really comfortable. Everything was either ridiculously over priced for poorly made shoes with thin and/or hard soles, or they were very cheap shoes that had thin and/or hard soles. It was almost as if I couldn't win. Then on the way back to my car I thought I'd have a look in House of Fraser when I came across these shoes. I'd admired them from afar before but never picked them up because I knew they would be really pricey and I do begrudge paying so much money for Michael Kors in the UK when it is much cheaper in America. This time however, I asked the SA if she could get me my size to try, purely out of interest and from the moment I put them on, I knew I needed them.
I say need. That's probably taking things a little too far, people NEED water, the world NEEDS peace but as far as material things and comfort goes, I needed these shoes. They were the most comfortable pair of flats I'd ever worn. The fit was perfect and they felt like I was walking on clouds. For someone who has felt so sore walking in uncomfortable shoes for years and years, I decided that they were worth the investment and I have never looked back.
I am so pleased that I bought these shoes and have worn them to death since I got them back at the end of January. Rather than having a thin, flat sole, they have sort of rubber pads on the bottom of them which really supports the pressure points in my feet, making them so comfortable to walk in. They're really supportive and in my opinion, stylish, although that wasn't the reason why I bought them. They could have been any brand and any design and I'd have bought them purely for how comfortable they are.
On Valentines Day, Mr WLL took me to the Sandman Hotel in Newcastle for their Valentines Day Package. As part of the offer, we were given a £50 voucher to spend in Eldon Square. There was nothing that my hubby wanted and so he said that I could use the full voucher on something that I wanted. I had only one thing in mind and headed straight to Fenwicks shoe department to buy the same shoes in light grey with silver hardware. Getting £50 off these was a fabulous deal and I'm so pleased that I now have a light pair and a dark pair in my shoe collection. The great thing about them is that they literally go with anything, regardless of whether it is a dress or casual outfit. I'm SO impressed with the high quality and comfort.
Another addition to my shoe collection recently was the Rose Buckle Ankle Boots from Missguided. I reviewed them in full in this post so head on over there if you'd like to find out more about them and check out the link to them directly over on the Missguided website.
I love how great these look with frilly socks underneath and with bare feet, showing just a bit of ankle. I've been wearing them with printed trousers and leggings with dresses. I'm loving the effect they have on each outfit.
They're in the sale, down to £15 so there are very few pairs left but since they also come in oxblood and black, I'm sure you'll find a pair you like. I'm really impressed with Missguided boots at the moment. These are so comfortable thanks to the chunky heel and long, steady slope down to the foot bed. They have so many other styles on their website and many are in this gorgeous colour so I am hoping they bring out similar styles next autumn as I may make a cheeky purchase!
Another pair of shoes that I have bought recently are these black and gold chain slip ons and if you're a regular reader of my blog then I'm sure you'll agree that these are far from my usual style. For some reason, I wanted something that was quite trendy and the latest style and I'm actually really happy with these.
They're slip ons with a nice thick sole making them really comfortable... do excuse the marks on the white sole, I need to clean them up evidently! I have worn these on long days out over the last month and they have been so comfortable and easy to wear. They look really eye catching with the black plimsoll being textured and having the chunky gold chain running across them. I have been wearing them with either an all black outfit or with black jeggings and a statement tee.
I'm sure I've seen these kinds of shoes on some websites for much more than I paid for this version. I'd really recommend them and you can find your own here.
My next pair are also from New Look but from their wide fit range. I must admit, I don't have wide feet but I do actively look to wide fit ranges as I sometimes find that they have more padding in and are more comfortable in some cases than standard width shoes.
These are the Wide Fit Zip Side Slip On Plimsolls. I can't find them online in the nude with gold zips but they're in white here. Just like the other slip ons, these are so comfortable to wear for the price and style. I really like the perforated style as it adds a little something extra to the texture. I've been really enjoying wearing them with jeans.
My last pair of shoes are the Faith Garden Embellished Pointed Shoes that I featured in this post. They're available on ASOS but they keep selling out ridiculously quickly. I have found them on Debenhams though and they actually have a 20% sale on them at the moment so grab them at a bargain price while you can.
They have such a beautiful pink moc snake skin effect on them with a tiny heel to give a slight lift. I love the gorgeous embellishment the most though, look how beautiful it is! These add so much femininity to my outfits, especially the ones that look more plain!
I'd love to know what shoes are new to your collection... It looks as though I'm becoming quite the shoeaholic!
