WhatLauraWore: The Glass House Launch Night, Newcastle

Lovedrobe Evans Plus Size Dress

One slightly windy day recently, I got ready to head out to the launch of the Glass House which is a new 1920's inspired bar in Newcastle.

I decided to wear the Lovedrobe dress that I got from Evans to wear at my masters graduation last December.  I love it because the skater style is so flattering, especially with the elasticated panel that pulls you in at the waist.  I love the way this dress falls, its almost like its oversized but it has the shape to because of the elasticated part.  I also love the lace at the top of the dress.

While the whole dress is black, theres some metallic gold thread in the lace detailing.  I matched my shoes to the black and gold theme of the dress by wearing my favourite Michael Kors flats.

For jewellery, I picked the gold out of the shoes and dress and wore gold jewellery from Mikey and River Island to match.

When it came to picking out a bag to take with me, there was no question over which one I'd pick.  My Chanel Camellia WOC steals my heart every time!

I don't got out to bars much anymore but I make an exception for the odd event, especially if it isn't going to be very busy and I can take my bestie along with me.  We got there for The Glass House opening and were greeted with a few others waiting to go inside and a red carpet.

The owners of the new bar were there to welcome the attendees as they came in and those who wanted them were given a drink of champagne in a stemless glass which helped to set the mood straight away and sets this bar apart from others in the area.

Inside, you'd be forgiven for thinking you'd stepped into the Great Gatsby with the decadent monochrome and gold colour scheme and art deco decoration.  It is so beautiful.

If you enjoy indulging in quality world wines, fine champagnes, expertly mixed cocktails, continental beers and the finest whiskys then you'll love this place.

There's plenty of seating available as well as a secluded cigar terrace where you can enjoy a cigar from their vast menu, if that should take your fancy.

From our short time at the venue, I could tell that this was a lovely bar and definitely somewhere that would be nice to start off a night out.  Its sophisticated, classy and perfect for catching up with the girls over cocktails as well as being the ideal place to take a date who loves champagne!
