My holiday is fast approaching and over this last week, I have been buying the last clothing pieces for my holiday. I don't always buy lots of clothes before I go on away and I do have some clothes in my wardrobe already that I'd consider to be my holiday clothes but as I went on holiday quite often in quick succession of one another last year, I wanted to update my suitcase with some new pieces for my trips this summer.
You can see all of these pieces in my new video and you can read on to find out more about them!
The first place that I headed to was Primark because it is affordable, cheerful and great for trend led pieces. I only bought two clothing pieces as I've been in there a lot recently and I couldn't find much else that I wanted.
The first item that I bought was this black maxi skirt that has a split up either side. I thought that this would be light and airy which is important for me as when I checked the temperature in Morocco yesterday, it was 35 degrees Celsius. I think that this will be nice to wear at night with a cami or during the day with a long top and a kimono. We'll see!
The other clothing piece that I bought was this lime top from the swimwear section. it has a deep v at the front and back and cinches in under the bust with a tie that has little gold toggles on the end.
I also picked up some bangles in this gorgeous mixed metal colour palette. I really like these because they'll be able to go with so many different outfits and I can mix and match my other jewellery with them easily.
I also bought some huge sunglasses for only £1. I wanted some cheapies that I could just throw in my bag and not worry about and these are definitely them but they feel substantial and look very chic too!
After my Primark trip, I thought that it was really about time that I started trying to put my outfits together and decide what I need and what I already have enough of. I like to shop online mostly so it didn't take me long to search out the pieces that I needed. I headed straight to ASOS.
I purchased a shirt that I intend to wear on holiday as a dress, like in this post, and knew that I needed something to go underneath it. The ASOS lace trim leggings were perfect for this. I had to buy mine a few sizes smaller as they were low on stock but they fit perfectly as they're very stretchy. They've now completely gone out of stock but I do hope they bring them back so that you can all have a chance to get them if you wish as they're so handy.
To go with the same outfit, I bought a 2 pack of vintage style skinny belts. The black one looks great with my shirt dress and the tan coloured one will go with so many of my casual dresses this summer.
I also bought a pair of the ASOS Curve Exclusive Culotte Jersey Shorts to wear as I thought that they would be a different option for while I'm away, other than a dress, and also something different that I could wear back in the UK too once the weather warms up a bit. I do need to still have a look to see which tops I have that would go with these though as I'm unsure as to what I'd wear with them.
As many of you know, it was my first wedding anniversary this month and when I saw the Wifey top on ASOS, I knew that I had to have it to wear on the day. I'm not sure whether I'll be taking this on holiday with me but I did enjoy wearing it on our anniversary.
The last thing that I bought from ASOS was this AMAZING New Look Fringe Clutch Bag. I have lusted after this bag for so long but didn't want to buy it as we all know how much of a fan I am of my designer pieces, sad but true. However I figured, I have only just started to like the fringe trend and I don't know whether this will continue, so I'd rather save my money and buy a more affordable one than splurge on a designer piece that I might not like in the future.
This bag is literally everything. I love it. The tan colour is gorgeous, I can wear it across my body, over my shoulder or as a clutch if I remove the long strap and I think it will be perfect to wear all summer!
Then I headed over to Simply Be to place an order for some swimwear and nightwear. I always get these from Simply Be because they have the best selection and on the whole, the fit is very good. I bought two swim dresses from the Liz McClarnon range, a coral and white spot one and a watermelon swimdress and I also bought the Magisculpt 'The Wonderpiece'. I love that each of these pieces will look great with my new coral flip flops from this haul.
The PJs that I got came in a pack of two with one tutti fruitti pair and one 'pick me' floral pair. They're called the Pretty Secrets Pack of 2 Shortie Pyjamas and what I loved about them is that they're a vest top and shorts; I haven't worn PJs like this in a long time!
Lastly, I paid a visit to what is probably my favourite place to shop online at the moment and that's Boohoo. Their plus size range is just killing it and every time I'm on there I'm filled with heart eyed emojis.
The first thing that I bought from BoohooPLUS had my name all over it, literally. The Laura Neon Printed Maxi Dress looked bold and bright online and when it arrived, I loved it even more. I knew it would be a good fit as I've bought similar maxi dresses from Boohoo in the past but there is something about this dress that makes it even more special. The print and the colours in it are so lovely and they don't look particularly over whelming when you're wearing it. I cannot wait to wear this dress on holiday.
Another bright dress that caught my eye was the Katie Neon Paisley Swing Dress which combines a bright yellow with a deep purple in a colour combination that I have never tried out before. I love the bold, unusual paisley print on the dress too. I think that this piece would be great for a relaxed, casual evening but also good for throwing on over my swim suit during the day as it is a very relaxed, comfortable fit.
There was also another paisley style that caught my eye, the Isabelle Printed Skater Dress which is an orange dress with a beautiful intricate design on it. I will be wearing this at night when on holiday but I think that it would be a great day dress with some leggings when I'm back in the UK too.
The last piece that I bought from Boohoo is the most stunning floral dress. The Tammy Floral Printed Skater Dress is a perfect addition to my summer wardrobe with its white backdrop and colourful flower patterns, I just know that its going to look lovely with a suntan. The material of this one is a little thicker, almost like a scuba material so I'm really hoping that it isn't too hot for me while I'm away.
I hope that you find something amongst these pieces to inspire your wardrobe this summer. Please head over to watch my video and give it a thumbs up!
