Today I wanted to share with you my new video which is a plus size summer holiday lookbook.
Although autumn is flirting with us, it isn't here just yet and I intend on embracing summer as much as possible before the leaves start to fall.
In my new video, I show you all of the outfits that I wore on holiday in Morocco this summer. I've actually just got back from Turkey as well and my outfits were pretty similar. I usually post them on my Instagram so you can check out my account for fashion posts as they happen so to speak!
When I have a holiday planned, I do like to buy some new pieces to take away with me but I equally like to take items with me that I've had for years and years which is what I also did here. I've linked all of the current items below where possible but some things are old and are there to give you inspiration rather than to serve as something that I recommend buying. These are just the outfits that I wore and put together from what I had in my closet.
I also like to take some jewellery (mostly from Primark) and accessories with me that compliment most of my outfits so that I'm not carrying too much. This was especially important on this trip because I didn't have a very high luggage allowance (15kg for 2 weeks, come on, sort it out Thomson!).
This is the outfit that I wore to the airport, chosen to keep me warm and comfortable during the flight. You can see the review of my outfit here.
I'm wearing the Lime Oversized Top With Extreme Dipped Hem and the Black and White Floral Rose Print Textured Slim Leg Trouser from Yours Clothing with my Truffle Collection Heart Flip Flops from ASOS. I'm carrying my Longchamp Le Pliage Bag in the coral shade although it only has a travel pillow and my passport in as I can't lift too much.
For jewellery, I kept it simple with my silver and diamante stud earrings from BHS and to keep me warm on the plane, I wore my GG Logo Scarf from Gucci. I love it because it does a good job at keeping me warm and comforting me while on the flight but it folds up really small so I can pop it in my bag when I get to my destination.
On the first day, I wore my Primark sunnies which I wouldn't recommend as they broke half way through the holiday and I had to wear them with one arm looking like a right fool for the rest of the trip.
My coral crochet top is from Primark and these shorts are some white jersey ones from Simply Be that I got a couple of years ago. My swimsuit is the watermelon swimdress and my diamante heart coral flip flops are from Garage. My bag is a personalised K Pink Bags design that fit all of my pool essentials inside.
Its so easy to look put together during the day while on holiday with very minimal effort. My top tip is to buy co-ordinating items when you're shopping. So for example, a lot of my swimwear featured coral or pink so I bought coral flip flops, a pink bag, a couple of coral tops, etc. That way, when I'm getting ready, my outfits go together and are well co-ordinated with very minimal effort.
For this evening look, I'm wearing my floral leafy print jumpsuit, with a clear box clutch that I got from a Boohoo event many moons ago and some Truffle Collection flip flops from ASOS. I'm not sure if they stock these flip flops anymore but they're really easy to find at stores like Garage Shoes and cheaper shoe shops.
You can find a full review of this jumpsuit here.
This dress is one that I bought from Torrid last summer (full review and feature here) and I'm wearing it with my white Truffle Collection sandals and an old clutch from Claires Accessories.
Rather than taking my expensive accessories away with me, I like to take my cheaper ones away with me when I travel, then if I lose them or damage them I wont be as upset as if it were a more pricey piece. Its also my way of using them up so to speak. Over the years, I've acquired lots of accessories and day to day at home, I don't get to use them all so when I'm on holiday, I like to really enjoy my things and use them while I can.
For this outfit, I paired my ASOS black culottes with my Simply Be Lace Trim Angel Sleeve Top. I took my River Island tan cross body bag out with me along with some gold accessories and my coral flip flops.
You can see a review of this outfit here.
I got this dress from the Gemma Collins Boutique in Essex however I believe it is another brand called Praslin and she's just selling some stock through her shop. Although the print of the dress is beautiful, I don't think that the cut is very accurate as the bust feels too high up. I have worn this dress a couple of times this summer but I think it'll be heading to eBay very soon.
I paired it with a white clutch and sandals.
For our day trip to the costal town of Essaouira, I wore my Magisculpt 'The Wonderpiece' swimming costume which has been my favourite swimsuit this summer, with my lime Primark top over the top and my ASOS black culottes.
A maxi dress is a staple for me when on holiday because I like to just throw them on when we're in a rush to get out for the night. This one is the Leah Racer Back Maxi and its available in blue like this one and in black which is like the one that I'm wearing later in this post.
I paired it with my uber comfortable Michael Kors Meg Flat Thong Toe Post Sandals which are gorgeous gold sandals with a big gold bow on them and my Accessorize clutch to add a pop of colour. This clutch has a gorgeous chevron style design in lots of different colours and it is a staple piece that I tend to take away with me whenever I go on holiday because it compliments so many outfits. You can check this clutch out on my blog from a past post.
This is the Amber Rose Print Maxi Dress which has been one of my favourite dresses this year. I've worn it so many times, my friends must be sick of seeing it but I don't care as I love it so much. The print is so beautiful, the cut is flattering and it is so comfortable to wear!
I first featured this dress on my blog in this post.
This dress is the Isabelle Printed Skater Dress that I have paired with my Michael Kors sandals.
I first featured this dress in this post in a full review and I love it because its short and fun which makes it perfect for a summer holiday.
This daytime outfit features the same ASOS culottes but this time with a boob tube that I bought from Matalan SO many years ago.
I added my black flip flops, 'Hit The Beach' pink clutch that I got as a gift from Accessorize last year (I usually use this to keep my valuables in when I'm around the pool) and my gorgeous Simply Be maxi kimono. I've spoken a lot about this kimono on my social media this summer as its a gorgeous piece and it really makes a change from the standard short kimono styles!
This is a shirt dress that I got from the Gemma Collins Boutique. They only had one left in a size far larger than my usual size and it was actually supposed to just be a shirt but I thought that I'd be able to get it to work for me as a dress. I wore it first on my blog here and while I love the style and the look of wearing a shirt dress, I have since tried it on back at home and think that it is just too big for me now. Another one for eBay I think!
My hair band is by Dauphines of New York. Its a gorgeous piece that I love wearing either like this or with my hair tucked back over into it in a princess hair style.
Over the top of my coral spot swimdress, I wore a holiday favourite for me, my Beach Please top from La Senza and my ASOS culottes again.
Another fave of mine is the Tammy Floral Printed Skater Dress because the print is so cute and girlie. It is a very short dress so one that I'd reserve for wearing on hot, wind free holidays. I've paired it with my colourful clutch, white flats and my favourite Ray Bans.
When I saw the colourful print of the Laura Neon Maxi Dress, I knew that I had to buy it and that's before I noticed that it was named Laura! It is so comfortable to wear and I love the twist at the back.
The Ruby Open Shoulder Swing Dress has been another favourite of mine this summer. I love the lime colour and the fact that its so bright which looks incredible with a tan. It also makes me feel like a walking highlighter which I, surprisingly, don't mind! I have a full outfit post of this look here.
I've got my Michael Kors sandals on too and my Claires clutch.
A surprising favourite on my holiday was the Katie Neon Paisley Swing Dress paired with my gold accessories. This is a great piece to wear out on hot evenings as it is so lightweight but it is also lovely for wearing during the day too.
For exploring the palace in Marrakech, I wore a long black maxi dress, with my Michael Kors Sandals and River Island tan bag.
I always like to keep something white for the last night to show off my tan. This is the stunning Little Mistress Print Maxi Dress in white with a pink floral design. I adore this dress and think that it is very good value for money. I've written a full review of it here.
To travel home, I wore the same black maxi dress and black flip flops with my Longchamp Le Pliage bag but this time I added my bright coral Primark jumper that has a split up the back of it. This piece is really light weight and very comfortable for wearing on a flight.
My luggage is the Lulu Guinness Lips Suitcase in black. I prefer hard sided luggage to the fabric just because I find it to be more sturdy and hard wearing. Plus I like how shiny it looks! I can't seem to find the black luggage anymore but there are some gorgeous alternatives below:
