I've said it before and I'll say it again; Too Faced are by far, my favourite makeup brand.
If you were to go back some 12 years and take a peek at my makeup collection, you'd find their products featuring heavily in there and nothing has really changed since. I've spoken at length about my love for their products before, particularly their eyeshadows and the Better Than Sex Mascara which has to be my favourite mascara of all time. You can read my review of it here.
Too Faced have recently released a new line of blushes, aptly named Love Flush as they're designed to give you that flush of colour in your cheeks that only true love can bring.
Not only that, these blushes are designed to be long wearing, with a fade and smudge proof formula that keeps your cheeks looking flushed for up to an incredible 16 hours.
When I think back over the last few weeks, I can't recall wearing any other blush than these. They've hit my makeup collection with a bang and have made a bit impact. I'll say it now, its love.
There are six shades in the collection all of which would work exceptionally well on just about anyone and they would all certainly get a lot of use in my makeup stash from the swatches that I've seen online. How Deep Is Your Love is particularly catching my eye!
I have two gorgeous shades; I Will Always Love You and Justify My Love. I'm sure it can't be a coincidence that the shade names are a Whitney Houston and a Madonna song name, respectively. Especially when the other shades Baby Love (The Supremes), Love Hangover (Diana Ross), How Deep Is Your Love (Bee Gees) and Your Love Is King (Sade) are also names of songs released by some of the most legendary love song singers of our time.
Lets start with my favourite shade out of the two that I have, I Will Always Love You.
I think the smile on my face says it all really, I'm beaming.
If you're looking for a peachy blush with a light, gold shimmer running through it, then look no further. This blush as an incredible way of warming up the complexion without making the cheeks look orange and while the slight gold shimmer is visible on the cheeks, it doesn't emphasise any flaws in my skin. The golden shimmer has a highlighting effect on the skin and really brings light and warmth to my complexion.
This is the kind of shade that looks absolutely incredible with a tan and when I got back from Turkey to find this on my doorstep, I couldn't wait to apply it as part of a bronzed coral makeup look!
You'll be able to see from my swatches that both of these blushes are well pigmented with a buttery soft, finely milled texture that makes them blend effortlessly into the skin with a small blush brush. The formula is very buildable so you can apply a small amount for a sweet, light flush of colour or really build them up for a more intense pop, either way, the result is gorgeous. They sit really naturally on the skin and never cake or look too heavy.
The great thing about these powders is that they're tightly packed into the pan and their texture, although buttery soft, is firm enough to withstand swirling your brush in so you get just the right amount of product that you need on your brush without kicking up a lot of excess powder falling out all over the place.
Comparing the two, I would say that Justify My Love is even more pigmented than I Will Always Love You and you really need a light hand when applying it so as not to end up with very bright pink cheeks.
Justify My Love is very much a bright bubblegum pink that looks so youthful on the cheeks. It has a little gold sparkle running through it when swatched although far less than I Will Always Love You and it doesn't really transfer onto the cheeks as the finish is far more of a satin than a shimmer.
Out of all of the Too Faced Love Flush blushes, Justify My Love is definitely the coolest shade as it has a very distinct cool blue undertone, whereas a lot of the other shades are quite warm toned.
I cannot find fault with these blushes from the application to the staying power. While I haven't worn them for 16 hours straight, I've certainly worn them for near enough that and found that even on my super oily skin, they stuck around for hours and hours and were just as pigmented when I came to remove my makeup at night as they were when I had first applied them that morning.
I love that they don't transfer easily either. In the past, I've worn blush colours that have rubbed off on my hubby's clothes if I've hugged him or rested my head on his shoulder at the cinema but I have never experienced that with either of these blushes.
They're a joy to work with and wear.
Another thing that I love about them is the slim, sturdy packaging that makes them so travel friendly, especially with the mirror inside the lid of the compact.
There has been so much attention to detail that has been paid here from the beautifully designed outer boxes to the gorgeous heart shaped compacts that are the same colour as the blush inside so if you have more than one, you'll always know at a glance which shade it is. The compacts have a really satisfying magnetic closure too so they snap shut which I love!
Inside, the powder is embossed with a gorgeous girlie design with two bunnies.
These high quality blushes are completely cruelty free and formulated without gluten, parabens, sulphates and phthalates.
The Too Faced Love Flush Blushes are available direct from their website and from Sephora, Debenhams and Selfridges.
