This autumn, I'm absolutely loving the sleeveless coat styles that are EVERYWHERE. They look so effortlessly cool and I like that without sleeves, they're not as restrictive as a full sleeve jacket can be.
When I saw the Simply Be Sleeveless Waterfall Jacket in store, I wanted to try it on straight away and I'm so pleased that I did. I wasn't sure whether this would be a style that would suit be but I'd seen a couple of girls wearing these kinds of coats open and belted at the back rather than fastened which is how I have styled this one in this post, to give it a go. I really like the look of it as the open style with the waterfall is really flattering and feels effortlessly cool to wear.
It reminds me of a mac coat because of the material and stone colour but I love that it is sleeveless. I wouldn't buy a mac because I don't think that the shape would suit me. I'd need a far larger size to fit my stomach and then the bust, shoulders and sleeves would be far too big for me so this open, sleeveless style is much more suited to me. I think Simply Be have got the sizing so right with this jacket as it is a perfect fit whether I wear it open or closed with the D ring belt. It is very long though. I'm 5 foot 5" so hopefully that'll give you an idea of the length by looking at how long it falls on me
I paired it with my Clea Swing Dress which is a light weight, floaty dress that feels just like you're wearing a long t shirt. The subtle v neck makes a lovely change from the round neck style that you usually find with these kinds of dresses. V necks suit me far more so when I find one I'm always attracted to it straight away!
This dress is so comfortable, especially for days when you're wanting to just throw something on and head out the door. It can be dressed up as well if you're wanting to go out for dinner or a few drinks at night. This is the wine colour but it is also available in lots of other colours.
I bought mine last year and one thing to note is that the sizing on this is very generous. When I order a couple of the other colours, I'm actually going to get this dress again (especially as its such a bargain) in a couple of sizes down as this one, without wearing the jacket over the top, looks far too big. That's a bit of a pain when you're ordering from Boohoo online but it is actually great for if you're larger than their biggest size which is a 24 as you shouldn't feel worried about trying this dress, the chances are, it would easily fit a size 26 and 28. Give it a go girls, I love Boohoo as their clothes are so affordable and up to date in style!
Another piece that I bought last year that is still available from Boohoo now is my burgundy floppy hat. I absolutely love this style of hat as I think it looks so cool and really feminine; I'm so pleased that they're still in fashion this year! The burgundy colour looks so beautiful against blonde or brunette hair and the thin black band around it adds a lovely extra finishing touch.
Underneath my dress, I'm wearing my favourite black plus size leggings. I have so many of these in my wardrobe but they're such a staple piece that I tend to wear so often at this time of the year as I'm not a fan of the feel of tights!
For accessories, I paired this outfit with my Rebecca Minkoff Mini Mac in biscuit which is a staple piece in my bag collection because it is equally suited to daytime and night out wear. It fits a surprising about in and is very comfortable to carry thanks to the leather addition to the chain strap.
My delicate arm candy is the Lucky Eyes Heart Bracelet in the rose gold shade. I love how dainty and sparkly this piece is. A definite favourite in my current jewellery collection. This piece is available direct from their gorgeous website but there are lots of other Lucky Eyes pieces available from House of Fraser here.
I'm really making a conscious effort to build up my rose gold pieces so that I can wear them together as I love a jewellery look featuring all of the same type of metal. My watch is by DNKY which you can purchase here and guess what... its rose gold too!
Now the piesta resistance, my new shoes. If you follow me on Instagram, you might have seen these a little while ago. My hubby bought them and put them away for me for my birthday and this is actually my first outing wearing them. I had long lusted after a pair of the Marc Jacobs Mouse Shoes and these ones with a punk twist are absolutely perfect for me. They're so comfortable too and they don't nip my feet or rub. I hate breaking in new flats but these are been a doddle to wear!
Yes, they're pretty pricey for flat shoes but they're so worth it.
I have since been styling this jacket in so many different ways and I'm seriously loving it so stay tuned for more fashion posts wearing it!
