Simple Kind To Eyes Eye Make-up Corrector Pen Review

Simple Kind To Eyes Eye Make-up Corrector Pen Review

In my recent affordable skincare haul, I featured the Simple Kind To Eyes Eye Make-up Corrector Pen and said that I wouldn't be using it until I had a new mascara to get to grips with.  Well, refraining from its use literally lasted a matter of days as I was doing my makeup for an event using a particularly liquidy mascara and as I was applying it, I sneezed, shut my eyes hard and ended up with mascara on my lovely eye make up and all below my lower lash line.

What a nightmare!

I'm pleased to say though that the Simple Eye Make-up Corrector Pen came to my rescue.

This is essentially a felt tip pen with a non greasy makeup remover inside that removes makeup when it comes into contact with the skin, including stubborn waterproof makeup which is surprising as the formula is free from oil.  This makes it the perfect product for cleaning up make up mistakes such as mascara smudges, eyeshadow fall out and even lipstick smudges.

Sometimes I make a mistake when applying my lipliner or darker lipstick and touching up with concealer or foundation just doesn't always look right and sometimes darker lip products bleed on my lips which just looks unsightly.  One day, I was testing out a new lip product and just thought I'll take this pen with me just incase and low and behold, it bled and I used the pen to clean it up, leaving my makeup looking flawless once again.  Although it does say that it is for eyes, there's no reason why it cannot be used anywhere else on the face and I have found it to be ideal for cleaning up around the lips when wearing darker lippies and to make my lips look an even shape when lining them.

Since this is a Simple product, I knew that it was going to be super gentle and I didn't have any worries at all with using it around my sensitive eye area.  This pen contains Pro-Vitamin B5 which helps to actively restore, soften and smooth the skin.  The formula is free from perfume, colours, harsh chemicals, unnecessary ingredients and alcohol, so it isn't going to dry your skin out or irritate it.

It is very easy to use, simply pop off the lid, hold the pen point side down for about 10 seconds to enable the felt tip pen to become wet with the solution and then use it directly on the makeup mistake to make it disappear.  I find it particularly useful for mascara that has gone onto my skin on my lower lash line and on my eye lids.  What I like the most about this pen is that it doesn't mess up the rest of my makeup the way that cleaning up mistakes with a cue tip sometimes can.  It is very light in its use and extremely precise so it just takes off the makeup that you want it to and then I usually just go back in with my blending brush to make sure my eye make up looks seamless.  I don't have to apply extra eye makeup, I just blend it a little so that the same finish is visible on the lid (shimmery, matte etc).

It is perfect for smudges, streaks and panda eyes whether that's while you're applying your make up or throughout the day.  Do you smudge mascara onto your eyelids when applying it? Do you cry at the cinema? Do your eyes water in the wind?  Do you rub your eyes forgetting you have makeup on them?  If the answer to any of those questions is yes, then this product has got your back!

The Simple Eye Make-up Corrector Pen has been around for a while and I can't believe it has only just come onto my radar thanks to shopping on Chemist Direct.  Sometimes I find that it is difficult to just browse for beauty and skincare products online on websites like Boots and Superdrug because there's just far too much choice that everything gets a bit watered down whereas selects Chemist Direct some of the best products out there and it is really easy to navigate through everything on their site.

Simple Kind To Eyes Eye Make-up Corrector Pen Review

So many of my friends have asked me how to avoid smudging mascara when applying it and there are a few tips that I can give them, such as tipping your chin downwards when applying mascara onto your bottom lashes and backwards when applying it to your top lashes but sometimes this isn't enough and mistakes do happen... and sneezes, as was the case with me!  For those occurrences, this make-up corrector pen is an absolute godsend.  I can also see it being particularly useful for those who don't have particularly good eyesight because sometimes people find it difficult to see clearly up close or far away depending on how they do their make up and if they smudge their mascara they can just clean it up with this pen.

Another problem that some of my friends have is with their mascara flaking or their eyeliner transferring from their waterline throughout the day and again, this product is perfect for touching up those annoying makeup fall outs on the go without disrupting the rest of your makeup because it is so precise.

The only downside that I can see to the Simple Kind To Eyes Eye Make-up Corrector Pen is that when you've used it to clean up dark makeup like black mascara, the tip does tend to get quite dirty so I'm not sure how long it is going to last for even though there's lots of product in the pen itself.  However while putting together this review, I've actually discovered that Simple recommend cleaning the tip of the pen on a makeup wipe after each use so I'm going to try that and I'll let you know how I get on (probably in an empties post when it has come to the end of its use!).

Personally, I'd recommend buying this from Chemist Direct because it is the cheapest price and I don't see the point in spending more money for the same product.  However you can also purchase it from Boots.

To see what other affordable skincare and makeup I picked up from Chemist Direct, you can have a look at my haul post here.

You can also take a look at this product and the full range of skincare from Simple over on their website here.

Have you tried this make up corrector out before?  Do you have any other tips for cleaning up makeup mistakes?

Just a quickie today lovelies.

I've booked a holiday with one of my besties to Marrakech in Morocco for the summer and I cannot wait!

I was wondering if any of you had any travel tips or advice for Morocco, places to see and things to do?  We're mostly going to chill out but it would be nice to experience a bit of culture while we're there working on our tans.

Also, would anyone benefit from me reviewing the hotel and the places we go to?  If you would, let me know in the comments.

I'm so excited to save up and go holiday clothes shopping!

GIVEAWAY & Review | Charnos Socks from UK Tights

Charnos Socks at UK Tights

In recent months, I've really become accustomed to wearing boots whether thats standard boots or those with cut away detailing, as you can see in this post here. I'm also wearing trainers more often as I've been walking for a small amount of time on the treadmill before my aqua zumba fitness class.  Although we're heading into spring, now that I've discovered cut out detailing on boots and have started to wear trainers more again, I definitely wont be stopping just because the weather is warming up slightly.

With my change in footwear, I've needed some new socks to wear and the ones that I have been wearing recently are by Charnos from UK Tights.  They let me pick out three packs and have kindly offered three packs to give away to readers of WhatLauraLoves so read on to find out how you can win!

Charnos Socks

The first pack that I picked out were the Charnos Comfort Top Plain Cotton Socks which come as a pack of three.  There are four different colour ways to choose from and I picked the Black Mix set which has a black pair, an oatmeal grey neutral pair and a lilac pair.

I chose these ones to wear with my trainers for the gym because my gym wear is mostly black, grey, lilac and pink so I thought that they would match well.  If you know me well, you'll know that I love to be colour coordinated, right down to my hair bobbles, so for me to want to have socks to match my gym wear is perfectly normal for me.  If my friend Naomi is reading this she'll be laughing so hard right now as she often jokes about me and my matching outfits!

These cotton socks are made from natural fibres and feel really breathable when wearing them.  This is ideal when I'm wearing them for the gym because I've found that some socks make my feet sweat loads when I'm wearing them.  These are lightweight so I don't have that problem at all.

Charnos Socks at UK Tights

The second set that I picked out were the Charnos Rose and Spot Cotton Socks which come in a pack of two.  I got these specifically to wear with my grey Missguided Boots as I thought that they would look great poking through the cut out detailing and over the top of the boots.

Both of the pairs of socks in this pack are patterned and they are navy and burgundy coloured.  The first pair are navy on the toe, heel and stretchy comfort top while the body is burgundy with navy blue polka dots.  The second pair are all navy with burgundy roses on them.  They have a very quaint, rural English style.

There's a couple of other designs of patterned socks by Charnos available at Tights UK which would all look cute poking out the top of boots or other shoes such as brogues.

Charnos Socks at UK Tights

The final pair that I picked out were the Charnos Cosy Fleece Socks that are available in grey, peach and cream.  I picked the peach but to be honest, they're more of a pink which I personally prefer because lots of my PJs are pink and as these are so soft and cosy, they're perfect to wear around the house or to bed when my feet are cold at night.

I picked these ones to wear with my older pairs of UGG boots that don't have too much of a warm sole any more as well as with my longer boots.  They're really stretchy so I can tuck my jeans into them to ensure that they don't ride out of my boots, creating that awful bunching look.  They're so warm and my feet feel very toasty in them so they definitely get a big thumbs up from me.

I'm really happy with the pairs that I've picked up from UK Tights and now its time for you to find out how you can win some pairs of your own.

a Rafflecopter giveaway

All you need to do is to follow my blog via bloglovin and follow UK Tights on Twitter.  There are more options in the form below so that you can gain some extra entries.

If you're the lucky winner, you can choose 3 pairs of Charnos socks for yourself, just like I did in this post.  I will let you know that you've won the giveaway via email and I'll then be giving your email address to UK Tights who will contact you for you to let them know which socks you would like and to get your address.

WhatLauraWore: Mulberry Bayswater Love

Mulberry Bayswater Soft Croc Biscuit Brown Plus Size Blogger Review

The low lying light in winter may look pretty but it doesn't do anything for me when taking blog photos.  Although my head is shrouded in light like an angel so I'm feeling all sweet and innocent as I type this!

Today's fashion post is very much a typical casual outfit that I like to wear on the weekend or when I want to feel comfortable but still look put together.

This clothing combination has actually been worn so often by me in the last couple of months because I love the mix of the colours together.

Mulberry Bayswater Soft Croc Biscuit Brown Plus Size Blogger Review

My top is from New Look but it was so long ago that I bought it that I very much doubt they'll sell it anymore as they turn around their different styles quite quickly.  It is essentially a navy vest top with a big navy and white striped bow on it and I'm sure you'll be able to find at least a plain navy top elsewhere if you wanted to recreate this daytime look.  Here is one from ASOS Curve.

I'm also wearing my favourite denim leggings from New Look Inspire that you can also buy from ASOS here.  They're made from jersey but they look like skinny jeans so they're incredibly soft and comfortable to wear and they fit like leggings so if you're someone like me who often struggles with finding jeans that fit correctly, then I'd suggest giving these a go.

Mulberry Bayswater Soft Croc Biscuit Brown Plus Size Blogger Review

Over the top, I'm wearing the open waterfall cardigan in white from JD Williams but it is also available in a whole rang of other colours.  Thats what I love about the knitwear section of JD Williams; they always stock a range of colours in many of their different styles so there is something to suit everyones style.

This fine knit cardigan is a slightly big fit, with a really flattering open waterfall at the front which makes it a flattering piece to throw on and snuggle up in.  It is light weight but still keeps you relatively warm, making it perfect for this in between weather we're having at the moment where its quite sunny but theres still a chill in the air.  I would love to pick this up in a few more colours because it is such a staple piece in my wardrobe and i love easy it is to wear.

UGG Chivon Nubuck Shoes in tan

On my feet, I'm wearing the absolutely beautiful UGG Chivon Nubuck Shoes.  These are one of the most comfortable pairs of shoes that I own and for the amount of times I've worn them, they've remained in incredibly good shape.  I love the tan colour as it goes so well with blue denim and white so I do tend to wear them with casual outfits that feature those colours.  These shoes are available in a few other colours and I'd highly recommend checking them out and picking up a pair as they're honestly SO comfy!

Mulberry Bayswater in Soft Croc Biscuit Brown Review

Speaking of tan, the bag that I'm carrying is in a similar colour.  It is the Mulberry Bayswater in the soft croc print, which I believe was limited edition.  I have it in the colour biscuit brown with gold hardware and I still love it as much now as the day I bought it.

For jewellery, I'm wearing my Michael Kors beaded bracelet and my new ring from Harry Fay.  Its called the Amirra and while I'll be reviewing it in full very soon, let me tell you how much I love it already.  This silver ring with sapphire and cubic zirconia jewels is so elegant and stunning that it looks great with so many different outfits.  Harry Fay offer such a wide range of sizes so if you've struggled to find rings to fit you in the past then definitely try them out, plus if the size you ordered doesn't fit you correctly then they will exchange it for you free of charge!

Harry Fay have offered readers of WhatLauraLoves a discount code.  All you need to do to get 15% off your order is to enter the coupon code whatlauraloves at the checkout.

WhatLauraWore: Prints, Missguided & Lulu Guinness

Plus Size Printed Trousers from Yours Clothing

NEWS FLASH: My favourite Missguided boots have gone into the sale for only £12 and I've just found out that they're available in two other colours too!

I know I've talked about these boots a few times since I got them this winter but today I just had to share with you this outfit post that features them and to show you some additional up close shots of my fave footwear.

Plus Size Printed Trousers from Yours Clothing

Lets start off with the outfit which was very much centred around the Purple Floral Print Woven Harem Trousers from Yours Clothing that I picked up for an absolute bargain price in their sale.  I was attracted to them immediately because of their gorgeous deep reddy purple colour with the beautiful grey, black and pink floral print on them.

Last summer I loved wearing printed harems but they were the jersey or cotton style whereas these are woven so there isn't any stretch in them.  The woven material makes them look a lot more dressy and perfect for an evening out whether they're paired with heels or boots like I have done here.

Since they are woven, I needed to size up in order to accommodate my stomach and I'm pleased that I did as while they do have a drawstring waist and the back part of the waistband is elasticated, they don't have that much give in them.  This ultimately meant that the legs were a little large on me and that the elasticated cuffs didn't fit as they should but I don't feel as though this detracts from how gorgeous these trousers are.  Harem trousers have more of a casual look about them and these ones are effortlessly gorgeous.

Plus Size Printed Trousers from Yours Clothing

Since the trousers are such a statement piece, I wanted to keep the upper part of my outfit plain and simple.  I pulled on my ASOS Curve Exclusive Swing Vest which I've had for the last couple of years and its still going strong, although it does tend to photograph a little see through!

My jacket is a new one from Yours Clothing.  The Black Edge To Edge Waterfall Crepe Jacket is one of those fabulous pieces that instantly pulls together an outfit.  Brilliant fit, the material doesn't crease and it always looks smart.  This has to be one of my best fashion buys in months.  It is made of a lightweight crepe fabric and features panelling detailing, non offensive shoulder pads that really help the jacket to maintain its semi-structured shape and 3/4 length sleeves that look effortlessly chic.

I love the waterfall front of this jacket the most because it is really flattering and easy to wear.  I don't like wearing jackets that I have to button up all that much because I find them more restricting whereas this one is so comfortable regardless of whether I'm sitting, standing or walking around.

Plus Size Printed Trousers from Yours Clothing

When I ordered these trousers, I thought that my burgundy floppy hat would be compliment the outfit well.  I've worn this ensemble a few times now, some times with the hat and sometimes without and I must admit that I usually make my mind up based on what the weather is like and whether my hair is freshly washed or not!

Keeping the black theme running through the top of the outfit, I took my Lulu Guinness black clutch out with me as it is plain in colour but the shiny perspex and the lips shape add something a little quirky to the outfit.  I ordered mine from Luisaviaroma with their free express shipping.  I couldn't believe how quickly it took to arrive.

Grey Nubuck Rose Buckle Ankle Boots from Missguided

Now onto my favourite part, the shoes.

These are the Rose Buckle Ankle Boots from Missguided.  I have them in the Grey Nubuck colour which is so beautiful and stylish.

These are the first pair of ankle boots that I've owned with a cut out detailing and I was really surprised to like this feature as much as I do.  I love the buckle that secures them at the ankle too which helps them to feel even more secure on my feet.

It was love at first wear with these boots as they didn't take any wearing in at all and have been so incredibly comfortable from the word go!

Grey Nubuck Rose Buckle Ankle Boots from Missguided

The shape of the boots themselves is excellent because they slope down gradually and your foot is fully supported, particularly at the heel, rather than focusing all of your weight on the balls of your feet.  This helps to make these the most comfortable pair of heeled boots that I've ever owned.

I think that's also down to the thick chunky heel and the comfortable sole.  At 3.3" high, these boots give me a good bit of additional height without being painfully high and the sole is very substantial meaning that they don't cause me any pain in the balls of my feet when walking around all day in them.  Sometimes I find that when the soles of shoes are too thin, I can feel every bump in the ground which can really hurt after a while but not with these.

Grey Nubuck Rose Buckle Ankle Boots from Missguided

The Rose Buckle Ankle Boots are also available in Oxblood and in Black.  Both of which are in the Missguided sale for £12 and you can get an extra 40% off them by entering the code EXTRA40 at the checkout.

To complete my outfit, I added my long gold necklace from Yours Clothing and my Ted Baker Logo Button Studs

Burgundy Floppy Hat

WhatLauraWore: Missguided Scuba Skater Dress

Missguided Plus Size Ribbed Scuba Skater Dress Green Teal Review Blogger

Another day, another Missguided dress. It seems as though there's not a day that goes by that I'm not wearing something from Missguided or lusting after pieces on their website.

This time its the Plus Size Ribbed Scuba Skater Dress in this beautiful shade of green.  When I was younger I used to hate the colour green but as I've got older it has become a colour that I'm drawn to more and more.  The first time that I met my hubby he was wearing green and its a colour that I always associate with him so perhaps thats why.  This shade is absolutely stunning as it is deep and quite jewel toned making it the perfect option for wearing during the day or at night.

Missguided Plus Size Ribbed Scuba Skater Dress Green Teal Review Blogger

Aside from the stunning colour, my favourite thing about this dress has to be the ribbed scuba material.  Until I tried this dress, I'd never tried on a garment in the scuba style material as I didn't think that it would suit me but it does and I actually find it to be very flattering.

The shape of this dress is fabulous too as it is a skater shape which is my favourite style of dress.  The top is pretty fitted with close fitting cropped sleeves and a skirt that extends out from the waistline to create the fun and flirty skater shape.

Length wise, I am yet to find a dress from Missguided that isn't perfect and this one is exactly the same.  It is the ideal length, hitting just above the knee.  So many plus size dresses seem to get wider but not longer as they go up in size whereas the Missguided ones have the length of their garments down to a T.

This dress is very true to size in the main body of the dress but as the sleeves are quite close fitting, those with larger arms may find themselves struggling a little.

Missguided Plus Size Ribbed Scuba Skater Dress Green Teal Review Blogger

If you like the look of my makeup in this post, you can check out a full how to in my latest makeup look post here.  Golden shimmery eyes and a pop of colour on the lips compliments the hue of this dress beautifully.

The golden tones work so well with green which was what inspired me to pair a gold bracelet, sparkly gold earrings and a gold toned handbag with it.

Missguided Plus Size Ribbed Scuba Skater Dress Green Teal Review Blogger

As it was pretty chilly, I decided to wear my trusty plus size leggings with the dress and, as I was wearing it for shopping and to the cinema during the day, I popped on the most comfortable pair of flats that I have ever owned, from Michael Kors.  They aren't the cheapest flat, black shoes out there but they're the comfiest and for that reason alone, they were worth every penny.

You'll find all of the links below to everything that I'm wearing in the post.  I think this is the first time EVER that every single piece that I'm wearing is current and available to buy online directly from this post!

Affordable Skincare & Makeup | Chemist Direct Haul

I love trying out new products so when Chemist Direct got in touch with me to offer me a voucher to spend on their website, I jumped at the chance.  Being able to scour the website and pick out my favourite pieces to try out was a great opportunity for me and I can't wait to tell you all about the goodies that I got.  Today I'll be sharing with you my haul and you can expect full reviews of all of the products coming up very soon.

Chemist Direct stock a vast array of products from high end brands to affordable drugstore products as well as items suitable for travel, vitamins, healthcare products and they even stock pet health products.  The products are usually limited in their number and sold at a discount compared to highstreet stores and other online retailers.  I was keen to try out products that from popular brands to see how they'd compare with some of my existing favourites.

I put a little extra money to my voucher and got one of my favourite Clarins products of all time, the Water Purify One Step Cleanser.  I've been using it for years and I really like how good it is at removing my makeup as the first cleanse in my skincare routine.  It was a brilliant deal at £15.49 and I'm really pleased to have it back in my collection as I haven't purchased it at the full price of £20 for a long time.  This product sold out/discontinued on the Chemist Direct site pretty quickly as brands like Clarins are always in demand, especially if you can get them at a lower price.  I think that Chemist Direct tend to get a set amount of stock of one product and once they've gone, they've gone so you really need to get them while you can if you see something you fancy.

Cleansing waters are my favourite products to use to take off the layers of makeup on my face. While I love the Clarins one, it is a bit of a treat as it is quite expensive and I'm always on the look out to try something new to see if it will do as good a job at removing my makeup.  I've tried Bioderma and I do like it but I'd love to find an option that is more readily available to me and I'm pleased to say, I have that in these two products by L'Oreal Paris.

The L'Oreal Skin Perfection Micellar Water is absolutely fabulous.  It is really light, non sticky and removes all of the make up from my face comfortably.  The same goes for the L'Oreal Gentle Eye Make-Up Remover which effortlessly removes all of my eye make up.  It actually reminds me of my favourite eye make up remover by Klorane as it doesn't sting the eyes at all and it doesn't have an oily texture to it.  I'm really impressed with these two products and I can't wait to go into more detail about them in another post where I show you my favourite affordable skincare products.

You can buy the Micellar Water here for £3.29, saving you £1.70 off the RRP.  The Eye Make-Up Remover is available here for £3.19, saving you 88p off the RRP.

When I saw that Chemist Direct had the St Ives Fresh Skin Apricot Scrub Invigorating Formula in stock, I knew immediately that I had to order it.  This was a favourite skincare product of mine back when I was a teenager and I have always been searching for something to replace it from the drugstore ever since but I've never found anything that quite compares.

My memories of this scrub match todays reality and I'm so pleased to have it back in my life.  It is super gritty, really abrasive and does a fabulous job at sloughing away the dead skin from my face to leave a bright and smooth complexion.

You can buy it here for £3.89, saving 10p off the RRP.

Moving onto body products and I was pleased to find that Chemist Direct stock such a wide range of body products, all at discounted prices.  The Palmers Cocoa Butter Formula Cocoa Body Scrub has been a product that I've been wanting to try for the longest time as I'm a big fan of their body butter.  I'm sure you all know by now how much I love body scrubs but I've got to say that this one isn't up there with my favourites as it isn't the most abrasive one that I've used and the scent isn't all that great.  I was expecting more from it but I'm really pleased that I've had the opportunity to try it as its been on my radar for a while.

You can buy it here for £4.39 saving 60p off the RRP.

The Garnier Body Tonic Smoothing Scrub was another scrub that I picked up and my favourite out of the two.  It has a much more pleasing scent, slightly apple in fragrance and it feels great on the skin.  It is a sugar scrub which I really like and found that it did a good job at exfoliating my skin.  The solution that it is in is a little more slippy than I'd usually prefer but as I tend to use this on damp skin but out of the direct flow of water, this doesn't cause a problem to me.

Find it here for £4.99, saving £2.15 off the RRP.

Sometimes when I'm getting to grips with a new mascara I end up getting a little on my eye lid or below my lower lash line before I've had a chance to get to grips with the wand properly.  When I saw the Simple Kind To Eyes Eye Make-up Corrector Pen, I knew I had to try it to see whether it would help me to salvage my make up looks when such occurrences happen.  I'm yet to try this out yet as I'm saving it for when I next switch over to using a different mascara (I'm a dab hand at the one I'm using right now!) as I'm worried in case it dries up if I open it before then.

This pen is available here for £4.79 which is a saving of 20p against the RRP.

Another product that I can't wait to try out is the Maybelline Baby Lips Electro in Pink Shock.  I'd been lusting after a Baby Lips ever since they first launched but I have resisted the urge to buy one until now because I was worried that it would just be a regular lip balm and Lord knows how many of them I have.  I've looked at some swatches online and it actually looks as though this one is quite pigmented and leaves a pretty flush of pink on the lips.  I'm going to try it out this week to create a pretty pink spring makeup look and I'll let you know my thoughts on it when I write a 'Face Of The Day' style post.

Pink Shock is available here for £2.69, saving you 30p from the RRP.  Chemist Direct also have two other colours of these in stock to choose from; Berry Bomb and Oh Orange.  Both of which are at the same price and discount as Pink Shock.

If you've been reading my blog for a while then you'll know how much I love my high end lip products.  I love saving up and going to the Chanel counter for a splurge but I do also appreciate that this isn't within everyones budget as well as the fact that even if it it, some people just don't want to spend that kind of money on one lipstick.  There's nothing wrong with that and i'm a firm believer that there's some fabulous products out there at affordable prices, especially where lip products are concerned.

I thought that this would be a really good opportunity to try out a drugstore lipstick and I'm so pleased that I did.  The L'Oreal Colour Riche Made for Me Lipstick in 370 Crazy Fuchsia is absolutely amazing.  The formulation is so creamy and buttery soft that it applies effortlessly onto the lips.  It is highly pigmented and imparts the most beautiful colour onto the lips, reminiscent of the popular Pink Flamingo nail polish by Barry M.  I am SO impressed with it and will be showing you it up close in a blog post very soon.  I would absolutely love to get my hands on some more of these lipsticks as the formula is SO GOOD.

It is available here for £4.08 which is a whopping 50% off the RRP.  I'll definitely be keeping my eye on Chemist Direct in case more of the shades become available.

One tip that I would recommend is that if you see a lip product on Chemist Direct, or any other website for that matter, that you like the look of, google the name of the product along with the word 'swatches' to pull up images of that lip colour in real life.  Often you'll find photos of the lipstick worn on a multitude of skin tones so you can see what it looks like when applied.  When I saw Crazy Fuchsia online, I thought that it was going to be a light, soft coral but it is much more of a pinky coral in real life.  I could tell this by the swatches on Google Images and I'm really pleased that I checked them out as it encouraged me to add this lipstick to my basket.

The last item that I picked up was the L'Oreal Glam Shine Lip Gloss.  I've used this line of lip gloss in the past but in a couple of coral shades and I really like the look that they give the lips.  I'm not sure what the correct name of this lip gloss shade is as online it says that it is 112 Sapphire Strass but on the packaging it says 112 Beryl Strass. I've tried googling the shades and they both look the same colour and I've seen both names listed to the name is a mystery to me.  Perhaps they're the same lip gloss but have a different name in the different countries they've been released in?  I know that some UK products have slightly different names to their USA counterparts so perhaps thats what it is.

Regardless, this lip gloss is gorgeous.  It is a beautiful sparkly pink shade that looks lovely when worn alone but especially great when layered over the top of another lipstick, such as the other L'Oreal lippy I picked up in this haul.

The Glam Shine Lip Gloss is available here for £5.59, saving you £1.40 off the RRP.

So that's everything that I got from Chemist Direct.  I'm sure you'll agree that for just over £50, I got a lot of different products to try out, as well as the Clarins cleanser that I haven't photographed here with it not being currently available.

I'm really impressed with the range of products and the discounts available on the website.  If you spend over £35 then you automatically qualify for free delivery and you can get £5 off your first order when you click here.

WhatLauraWore: Ann Harvey at Bon Marche

Ann Harvey at Bon Marche Plus Size Blogger Review

Earlier this month, Mr WLL and I headed to the Manchester Arena to see Peter Kay's Phoenix Nights Live.  I managed to bag us front row tickets which I thought would make the perfect birthday gift for him as he loved the show when it was on and we're both big fans of Peter Kay and Paddy McGuinness.

The show was fabulous show, except for the fact that I was picked out as part of one of the acts and out up on the big screens in front of 14,000 people, how embarrassing!  I was already anxious to begin with as it was so busy but after that, I was absolutely mortified. Haha trust me!!  E I'm laughing about it now but at the time I wanted the ground to swallow me up.  That's the last time I sit on the front row!

We were travelling down from Newcastle and I knew that I wouldn't have time to get changed before heading out to the show so I wanted to wear an outfit that was comfortable but still smart for the show.

This was what I picked:

I opted for a simple all black outfit which seems to be a staple for me right now and then I popped on this gorgeous Mosaic Floral Cover Up by Ann Harvey.  They've just relaunched their collection in its new home, Bon Marche, and it is beautiful.  What I like the most about it is that there are lots of coordinating pieces and items in complimentry colour palettes so you can really mix and match pieces to create a multitude of different looks.

The brand is aimed at the slightly more mature customer and the pieces that are in the collection are so fitting because theres such a wide range of styles and patterns within these colour palettes that you can create a capsule wardrobe from.  A lot of women are looking for high quality pieces that are worth spending their money on because they'll last for years to come and that is the quality that you're going to get when shopping from the Ann Harvey collection.  I'd really recommend it.

This cover up is ideal for throwing on over a maxi dress or top and trousers combo.  It is light weight but excellent quality.  There isn't anything flimsy about it and it washes really well.  I love the the print and the mix of colours and the waterfall shape is really flattering, particularly if you have a large tummy like I do!

I paired it with my favourite black clutch and silver jewellery.
