While I don't want to speak too soon, for fear of jinxing anything, I think Spring may be on its way. For the last two days, I've woken up with the sunshine and I've genuinely felt more of a spring in my step; the daylight always makes me feel more productive.
That glimmer of sunshine has got me all excited for the warmer months and the prospect of a summer holiday. I'm sure you all know by now just how much I love to travel.
I live for my holidays; they're what I work for. Seeing the world is so important to me, experiencing new cultures and completely relaxing away from my hectic home life.
If truth be known, I like to look and feel my best when I travel as I find that I have more time available to me to get ready. I love buying my holiday clothes and putting together my outfits before I go, almost as much as I love going on holiday itself, and I'm always scouring the internet looking for pieces to inspire me and my outfit choices. Sometimes its a particular shape, colour or a style and then I find something to fit and suit me.
As you'll know if you follow me on Twitter, I like to go on holiday throughout the year so a store that stocks holiday swimwear and accessories all year round is a godsend to me. One such store is House of Fraser and I find that I can always find beautiful pieces in there that I can buy or draw inspiration from.
Their new spring/summer beach and swimwear is absolutely to die for. They have so many different cuts, colour combinations and styles available; something to suit everyones taste.
I'm always drawn to coral, orange and pink colours, especially for summer holiday wear as they're my favourite summer colours. This Seafolly swimsuit is a really great example of how orange can look incredible with a bit of a tan and the colour really does POP! Plus the shape, bow and ruching on this swimsuit is nothing short of incredible!I absolutely adore the Freya Bondi UW Bandeau Longline Bikini Top. I love everything about it from the incredible colour palette to the longline shape. This is something that I'd actually wear out at night with a sheerer top over the top and some high waisted, wide legged, light weight trousers.
If you're a girl who likes to pack super light when you travel and combine day/swimwear with evening wear then House of Fraser have a plenty of options for you. The Jewels & Grace Lumo Top would look absolutely amazing on the beach but you could also wear it out at night with a pencil skirt or some high waisted denim shorts, if you love the crop top look. Similarly, the Seafolly H20 Maxi Coverup would be ideal over any swimwear during the day but you could easily wear it out at night with some jewelled flats and a clutch bag.
I really love flirty styles and the Freya Pier bikini top and latino bottoms tick all the right boxes. The black with the white polka dots is a total classic and the frill detailing is so sweet and a great option if you're not too confident with the tops of your legs as they're not skimpy like some styles I've seen.
For me, swimwear is all about picking styles that make you feel the most comfortable and confident and if that means concealing or flattering something and enhancing something else then I'm all for that. Whatever makes you happy!
House of Fraser stock plenty of accessories for the beach too. I particularly like the Seafolly Indian Summer Beach Tote as so much of my existing beachwear is coral so this beautiful bag would fit in perfectly.
I love being all matchy matchy as it looks really put together. Its so easy to do and requires very minimal effort if you want to achieve this type of look.
I always say, simply purchase your swimwear in complimentry colours (for example red swimming costume, navy tankini and a white bikini) then buy accessories in those colours (e.g. red beach bag, white floppy hat, navy flip flops). That way, you'll always look like you're matching and put together when really, you were buying your swimwear and accessories anyway, you just chose carefully to pick out ones that suited one another rather than buying the first things you saw.
