Last night, I went to a fabulous event at the Metrocentre to celebrate the launch of intu's national campaign #intustylegarden which was all about the fashion and beauty for the new spring/summer season. In todays post, I'll be sharing all about the event as well as letting you all know how you can get involved this weekend!
The intu Style Garden was an absolute treat and easily the best event that I've been to at the Metrocentre as I really felt as though they brought the essence of spring and summer to life.
A gorgeous garden scene was set up in the middle of Town Square and from the moment we all arrived, the prosecco was flowing courtesy of Oh You Pretty Things, the champagne and cocktail bar within the Metrocentre itself, and the most delicious food was provided by Bella Italia which has just opened in the Yellow Mall.
The Italian selection on offer was SO tasty and me and my friend Pixie throughly enjoyed the garlic bread while sipping an alcohol free cocktail. I managed to take a little bottle of prosecco home with me, as I never like to have even one drink when I'm driving and I'm actually enjoying it as I write this. Its a Scavi and Ray Prosecco and it is incredibly easy on the palette; definitely something I could see myself sipping after an afternoon exploring the shops.
If you're not familiar with Town Square, its right outside of my FAVOURITE store, House of Fraser, who brought some of their newest beauty brands along to showcase their products and services alongside the new spring highstreet fashion from the likes of Warehouse, Whistles and French Connection. The latter of which were promoting their fantastic denim range which includes their 360 stretch for the best fit and comfort.
I particularly loved the laser cut co-ord set from Warehouse which really enables you to achieve a high end, designer look for less. Plus it is available in navy which we all know is the colour of the moment for me right now!
I'd have liked to see some plus size options like they did with the Autumn Winter event (read here), as the Metrocentre is the best place to shop for plus size clothing in the country in my opinion. However I was still able to gain plenty of style inspiration from what I saw.
Intu Metrocentre really pulled out all of the stops when it came to their beauty offerings. If you read my post above, I talked about how House of Fraser had undergone an incredible transformation towards the end of last year and so many more high end beauty brands had been brought into the store, many with incredible treatment rooms for you to relax and enjoy beauty treatments in.
At this particular event, we all got to try out some of the services from the brands. One of my most loved skincare brands, Decléor, were there giving mini facials, Show were doing some incredible hair transformations and Kiehls, Aveda, Liz Earle and Crème De La Mer were giving skincare consultations.
I particularly enjoyed visiting Murad who used a computer to quickly scan my skin to show the areas that I need to work on to keep my skin looking youthful. This machine could show what my skin would look like when its another 5 years older which is quite scary and definitely gave me a kick up the backside to get my skincare routine in order!
Skincare favourite, Clarins, were their too, talking about their new Boosters which are literally about to launch. These are really concentrated shots of goodness that you add to your regular skincare to boost the effect on your skin. They're very much a product that you're able to tailor to your skins needs.
I was pleased to see that Nails Inc were there as I got to try out their new paint can spray on nail polish which is a really cool concept, definitely something a little different to the norm.
The counter that I was particularly pleased to see at the intu Style Garden had to be Giorgio Armani makeup which has been a brand that has previously been very difficult to get a hold of in the North East until it launched in House of Fraser. The makeup artists talked me through all of the products including their new Sepia Palette which not only looks stunning in the pan but on the skin too. This is a pressed powder that highlights and adds warmth to the face. It is seriously stunning and ideal for the warmer weather months.
I had that powder applied to my face along with one of their stunning new Rouge D'Armani lipsticks in the colour Pink 501 which is a very Kylie Jenner lip colour but with a creamier, glossier finish. The makeup artists on the counter are so knowledgeable so I'd highly recommend heading along when you're next in need of some new makeup.
Like many of the counters, Armani offer free treatments that anyone can go along for. Each counter offers something different whether it is a makeup application lesson or a skincare pick me up. I've actually been able to book in at plenty of the different counters to try out their services so that I can report back to you all on my experience.
It is so handy to be able to try out the products before buying them and through having a thorough consultation with the person on the counter, you can rest assured that you're getting the right product for your skin. Plus, its a great excuse to take a little bit of time out of your day to relax and be pampered!

Anyone can go along to watch the shows and be inspired by the latest fashions. It was so clear last night that intu Metrocentre have got it spot on with the latest trends so I'm positive the fashion shows should not be missed! I'm going to be there later today as I'm going to the cinema so I'll pop along and tweet the shows that I get to see.
Don't forget to tweet @intumetrocentre and #intustylegarden with your feedback on the fashion shows. I can't wait to see what you think of them!
Many thanks to the Metrocentre for organising such a superb event and for my fabulous goodie bag, complete with Rebel Flower gift. I'm very lucky to be able to work with what has always been my favourite shopping centre.
Check back soon for reviews of the in store treatments and when I've had a chance to try out the samples in the gift bag, I'll be popping up mini reviews over on my Instagram.
Have you ever been to the Metrocentre? What spring trends are you looking forward to wearing?
