For so many ladies, there’s nothing better than a good night out on the town. But it seems that there’s many great apps popping up that range from streaming sites to online bingo apps that manage to provide a more convenient option for many night-time treats. These apps can actually make staying in just as fun as going out and for someone like me who doesn't actually like clubbing anymore, they're perfect!
In this post, I am going to review the latest range of apps that look to deliver all of the nightlife fun, yet promise to leave us a little more in the way of spare change that we can spend on lovely things like more dresses, Chanel handbags and make up!
Whilst I love heading out for a meal, there’s been many interesting takeaway apps that can deliver a world of wonderful food to our doors. My fave at the moment has to be the Deliveroo service that offers some tasty treats from restaurants that are a cut above the standard takeaway fare - they just need to create some kind of washing up app and then my culinary dreams would be complete!
I first discovered Deliveroo when I was staying with my friend in London the night before a photoshoot with Scarlett and Jo. It had taken me hours to do what should have been a half an hour taxi ride because there was a black cab strike so by the time I got to hers, the last thing that I wanted was to go out for dinner. We popped to the shops for prosecco and ordered a Wagamamas via the Deliveroo app and it turned up well packaged, hot and ready to enjoy. For someone that hadn't ordered food in this way before, it was mind blowing haha!
Now I might not be much of a clubber these days (damn panic attacks!) but I do like to go out for drinks at quieter cocktail bars or pubs; usually somewhere theres a bit of live music and somewhere to sit down. I also like to go to see my friend, Kieron Boston, sing as he performs in bars and social clubs here in the North East and my friends and I tend to have a few games of bingo and a good chat in between his sets. If you follow me on Snapchat (WLLofficial) then you've probably seen me posting snaps of him singing, he's awesome!
Another option when heading out on the town is to get the ladies together to visit a bingo hall. Although it’s kind of traditional, it’s certainly an amusing way to spend an evening, especially if you like people watching as some get so excited as the anticipation builds if they're close to getting a full house! I love the excitement of potentially winning a few quid too! However, another option for bingo lovers is to actually play and enjoy the game from the comfort of their own home which I've tried out myself and its actually really fun. I’ve found a range of rooms that are exclusive to Coral Bingo that keep it fun and varied as they have a selection of styles from Coronation Street to Rainbow Riches, which is a game I've played with my hubby in the casino before.
Similarly, whilst I do love seeing the latest movie releases on the big screen at my local cinema, it can get pretty expensive if you're buying popcorn, nachos or soft drinks too. I'm really trying to save money this year so that I can buy a property so I tend to reserve my cinema dates for when theres a film that I REALLY want to see. For those films that I would be taking a gamble on going to see, I tend to just wait until they come onto one of the streaming services that I'm signed up to. There's loads around, including Now TV which have a massive selection of recent movies to enjoy at your own leisure for a small monthly fee which works out to be a lot cheaper than going to the cinema all of the time or buying and renting films if you're a movie buff like I am!
And what girl doesn’t enjoy a good cocktail every now and then? Whilst heading out to a cocktail bar can be pretty pricey, we can now conjure up the cocktails of our dreams with relative ease thanks to the Mixology app that has a huge amount of cocktail recipes that even novices like me can follow! My personal favourites are a Mojito (I make them sweeter with extra sugar syrup), Amaretto Sours and Purple Rain.
