Clarins Beauty Haul; Instant Eye Makeup Remover, Ever Matte Foundation & Lip Comfort Oil

Clarins Beauty Haul Featuring Ever Matte Foundation, Instant Eye Make Up Remover Lip Comfort Oil Swatches and Review Image

One of my favourite beauty brands of all time has to be Clarins.  I've used their skincare for more years than I care to remember and I've certainly developed some holy grail products over the years.  Like their Foot Beauty Treatment Cream; have you tried it?  If not then you seriously need to.

When Ocean credit cards challenged me to drop everything and splash out on some new products to beautify myself with, there was only one counter that I was heading for; I'm sure you can guess which one!

There was two products that I had my eye on and one repurchase that I knew I wouldn't be walking away from the counter without; that was the Clarins Instant Eye Make-Up Remover which is a long standing favourite of mine.  I've recently been using the Garnier Express 2 in 1 Eye Makeup Remover and while it is a cheaper alternative, it is by no means as good as the Clarins one.

The Clarins Instant Eye Make-Up Remover breaks down makeup effortlessly.  Simply shake the bottle, soak a amount onto a cotton pad and hold it over your eye and swipe.  There's no rubbing needed which makes it very gentle on the eyes.  I've been using this for ages and wouldn't be without it now as nothing else that I've tried compares to it.  When I go on nights out, I like to wear heavy makeup with lots of liner, waterproof makeup and false lashes.  Usually the more long lasting makeup products are harder to remove and Duo lash adhesive in particular can be a bit of a pain to get off but this eye makeup remover does the trick.

They do have a Gentle Eye Makeup Remover too but in all honesty, I would just go for the Instant, bi phase variety as its also incredibly gentle, doesn't sting or irritate the eyes and it works in seconds!

At the start of a new season, I like to head to Clarins for a Skin Analysis to make sure that I'm using the products that are right for my skin at that time and to try out any newbies that have been added to the line.

When I visited the counter back in the summer, I took away a sample pot of the Clarins Ever Matte Foundation with SPF 15.  I will never buy a foundation blind and will always request a sample pot to try at home before purchasing to see how it works with my oily skin and the other products that I use.

Ever Matte works really well for me because it looks so natural on my skin and it lasts all day long without needing to touch up.  I find that it doesn't actually sit very well on top of a lot of my primers and instead, it works best when applied straight onto my skin.  This is my no means a disadvantage as if I can use less products, I'm happy!

I'll be doing a full review of this foundation in due course as I'm SO impressed with it.

I'm equally as impressed by the Clarins Instant Light Lip Comfort Oil which comes in three different colours and flavours.  I picked Red Berry which was the latest one to hit the counter.

I cannot rave about this lightly tinted lip product enough.  It is a lip treatment that sits somewhere between a lip gloss and an oil.  The formula is rich in plant-based active ingredients to nourish the lips.  It doesn't feel oily in the slightest, nor does it feel sticky.  It almost melts onto the lips and leaves them with this incredible high gloss finish that makes the lips look full and juicy.  Comfortable to wear throughout the day, it is perfect worn alone or over the top of a lipstick.  This is definitely my favourite go-to lip product whether I'm wearing a full face of makeup or going for a barely there look.

I'll definitely want to pick up the other two shades!

When shopping at Clarins, I always look out for their gift with purchase special offers.  They seem to be on gift quite regularly and you can always pick up some great deals when you buy two or more products.  When I bought these three, I received a cosmetic bag with four deluxe size samples inside including a moisturiser, gentle exfoliator, body cream and one of the gorgeous Clarins Instant Light Lip Perfecters which are ideal for when you're looking for something to lightly nourish your lips like a balm while adding a light colour and gloss.

I'd really recommend trying to purchase your Clarins products when they're on gift as the sample sizes that you receive are PERFECT for travelling.  I always save mine up and use them when I go on holiday.  I'm travelling to Dubai soon and the majority of what I'm taking with me is Clarins!

If you're in the North East then I'd really recommend going to see Nikita at the Clarins counter in Fenwick, Newcastle (book in on 0191 230 5033).  She really knows her stuff and is my go-to girl for all things Clarins.  Her colour matches and product recommendations are always bang on and she's happy to let you try out samples and products on counter before purchasing to make sure that you're 100% happy with what you're buying; she isn't pushy at all.  I really trust her opinion and even changed the Clarins counter that I shop at purely because she moved stores!

Regardless of where you shop, everyone needs a treat from time to time.  I'd love to know what beauty bits you've treated yourself to lately!

Kiko Glossamer Emotion Creamy and Glossy Dream Sheer Lipsticks

Kiko Glossamer Emotion Creamy and Glossy Dream Sheer Lipsticks Review and Swatches Image

Ever since their UK launch many moons ago, I have been wearing Kiko makeup, trying out their limited edition collections and loving the results.  So to say that these lipsticks are my favourite type of product from Kiko Milano, EVER, is a pretty bold claim.

They have created over 65 different shades in three different finishes to suit everyone, every look and all tastes.

Firstly there's the Kiko Milano Glossamer Emotion Creamy Lipstick of which there are 30 shades, then theres the Kiko Milano Glossy Dream Sheer Lipstick which comes in 15 different colours and finally theres the Kiko Milano Velvet Passion Matte Lipstick which currently comes in 20 shades.

Kiko Glossamer Emotion Creamy and Glossy Dream Sheer Lipsticks Review and Swatches Image

The first thing that drew me to these lipsticks is the packaging.  One simply cannot get away from the fact that the packaging is absolutely stunning.  They open by clicking the button on the top and sliding the bottom part out; very luxe, weighty and expensive feeling, especially with the copper combined with the gunmetal and brushed champagne metallic packaging.

The packaging varies slightly between the three different formulas.  However they're all distinctive and a touch of luxury at a realistic price point.  They even have the KK logo imprinted into the lipstick itself which is another luxe touch that tends to be associated with higher end brands.

These Kiko lipsticks are housed in by far the most sophisticated and beautiful packaging that Kiko have ever done and for me, they have really elevated my opinion of the brand.

Kiko Glossamer Emotion Creamy and Glossy Dream Sheer Lipsticks Review and Swatches Image

When I was first asked if I'd like to try out these lipsticks, I requested creamy and sheer formulas as I thought that I couldn't possibly like the matte formula.

I have tried matte lipsticks in the past, such as Ruby Woo by MAC but the formula is far too drying for me.  I have found a small number of matte finish lipsticks that I have liked but the vast majority I have tried have felt so drying, I thought my lips were going to peel off.  Don't even mention Colour Pop to me or my lips may shrivel at the very thought!

However since I first received these lipsticks and tried them out, I have been into a Kiko store, tried out and bought the Velvet Passion Matte Lipstick formula and I'm pleased to report that I was wrong to have not wanted to try them in the first place.

The Velvet Passion Matte Lipsticks are a matte formula but they're a comfortable, creamier matte- not too dissimilar from the Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipsticks.  I have quite a few of those now and while I haven't compared them side by side yet, I would say that they are an exceptionally good alternative- the shape of the bullet is even similar!

Kiko Glossamer Emotion Creamy and Glossy Dream Sheer Lipsticks Review and Swatches Image

I'll be sharing my latest purchases in a Kiko post very soon, including that matte lipstick, as they've just opened up inside the Bridges shopping centre in Sunderland which is near to where I grew up.

However for now, I'll share with you the four lipsticks in the two formulas that I have had plenty of opportunity to try out over the last couple of months.

Kiko Glossamer Emotion Creamy and Glossy Dream Sheer Lipsticks Review and Swatches Image

Undoubtedly, my favourite of the four lipsticks has to be the Kiko Glossamer Emotion Creamy Lipstick in the shade 104 Vintage Rose which is the gorgeous nude shade that you can see me applying in these photos.  I have worn this lipstick so frequently since I got it and it has quickly become a go-to shade for me whether its the daytime or night.

As to be expected, this lipstick is creamy in formula but not slippy so it feels very comfortable on the lips and stays put.  It is opaque in one swipe and so flattering against my skin tone.

The lipstick on the right is the Kiko Glossy Dream Sheer Lipstick in the shade 215 Cyclamen which is a very bright pink.  I wore this a lot in the summer with a lightly bronzed face but during the winter months, I'll be pairing it with a silver and black smokey eye for a pop of colour on my lips.

Kiko Glossamer Emotion Creamy and Glossy Dream Sheer Lipsticks Review and Swatches Image

The two lipsticks above are the ones that I've been wearing a lot over the last couple of weeks as we head into Autumn; their shades couldn't be more perfect for this time of the year!

On the left we have another of the Kiko Glossamer Emotion Creamy Lipsticks, this time in the shade 110 Wine which is a gorgeous berry shade.  Like the other Glossamer Emotion lippies, it has a creamy formula, a highly pigmented, bold colour and a deliciously shiny finish.  These lipstick have orchid extracts within the formula and hyaluronic filling spheres so give the lips a full and perfected, hydrated look.

It feels so smooth to apply and doesn't need lots of coats to build up the colour- the pay off is really good.  I was expecting a colour like this to bleed without a lip liner but it didn't on me at all which I'm really impressed with and it certainly gave me the confidence to wear it out without feeling the need to check my lips in a mirror every few minutes.

The same goes for the Kiko Glossy Dream Lipstick on the right, in the shade 206 Sangria which is a beautiful red.  This lipstick has a shiny, light reflecting finish with a semi-sheer colour but as you can see from my swatches below, it still packs a punch.  It didn't bleed on me either which I was so pleased about, especially with it being a shinier formula.

I absolutely love everything about these Kiko lipsticks, from the incredible packaging to the long lasting, highly pigmented colour.  If you're looking for a gorgeous lipstick that rivals the high end brands but at a more affordable price tag then I'd highly recommend checking out Kiko.

Narciso Poudrée Eau De Parfum by Narciso Rodriguez Review

Narciso Poudrée Eau De Parfum by Narciso Rodriguez Review Image

If there's one perfume thats captured my heart this autumn its the Narciso Poudrée fragrance by Narciso Rodriguez which has been my go-to evening scent for the last month.  I just can't get enough of it!

There's an air of mystery surrounding this perfume and its that which seems to draw me in.  It is sensual and decadent, yet gentle and feminine in equal proportions which makes it the perfect scent for wearing on evenings out, perhaps for a date night.  However saying that, it isn't too heavy that you couldn't wear it during the daytime either; I certainly do.

Narciso Poudrée enjoys floral top notes of Bulgarian Rose and White Jasmine, a Powdery Musk heart from which the scent takes its name and a base of Vetiver and Black Cedar base.

When I'm choosing a new fragrance, I always tend to look for the ones that have musk in them as generally they'll be a scent that I'll enjoy however I can't recall using a perfume with more of a powdery musk before and the effect is beautiful.  It adds quite a warming and comforting feel to the fragrance.

Narciso Poudrée Eau De Parfum by Narciso Rodriguez Review Image

As an eau de parfum, the scent is long lasting on the skin so I tend to simply spritz over myself in the morning and I can still smell it when I return home in the afternoon.  Smelling good is really important to me so longevity is definitely something that I look for in a scent.

While packaging isn't everything, it is really important to me, as if I am spending a lot of money on a scent, I want it to look luxe too.  The packaging of Narciso Poudrée is absolutely stunning with its creamy nude bottle; I think anyone would be proud to display it on their dressing table.

This perfume is available in three different bottle sizes; 30ml, 50ml and 100ml, as well as a gift set which I think is perfect with Christmas coming up.  Inside the box is a bottle of the fragrance, along with a body lotion to layer up the scent to make it last longer and a makeup pouch which could be used as a clutch over the festive period.  It would make a beautiful gift for a woman this Christmas as it is a scent that I think so many people will enjoy.

Narciso Poudrée Eau De Parfum by Narciso Rodriguez Review Image

The great thing about Narciso Poudrée is that it has just launched this year so it will still be new to a lot of people.  Receiving a fragrance that's new to the market is always that little bit more special in my eyes!

Narciso Poudrée is available to buy from House of Fraser (don't forget to collect those valuable Recognition Card points!), SelfridgesJohn Lewis, Boots, Debenhams and Feel Unique.  I've linked all of the different size options, stores and individual bottle/gift set options below for ease, simply scroll left and right and click on the image to head straight to the product page.

Game Changing Haircare from Color Wow

Color Wow Haircare Review Image

Ever since I was in my late teens and had my own money to spend on beauty products, I've been buying haircare.  Over the years, I've tried out so many products from the cheapest of the cheap to super high end; some have been fabulous, others not so much.  These days, it really takes something special to wow me and that's certainly the feeling that I got when I tried out the haircare from Color Wow.

There was one product in particular that really wowed me and that's the Color Wow Speed Dry.  This product is a total game changer.

You might remember a post I put together recently on the Redken Pillow Proof Blow Dry Express Primer (review here) which is a cream that you smooth all over your damp hair before blowdrying to speed up the drying time.  While it worked to make my hair dry faster, I noted that it left my hair feeling awful; very much like cotton wool.  It left my hair feeling a bit like I'd used plumping powder in it which isn't a nice, clean feeling at all which meant that I could only really use it on days where I was in a rush to get my hair washed so that I could go out but when I knew that I would be washing my hair the next day.

In comparison, the Color Wow Speed Dry blow dry spray is far superior.  It has all of the benefits of being able to dry your hair faster but none of the awful feeling left behind once your hair is dry.

Speed Dry is a clear blowdry spray that you spritz all over towel dried hair.  Only a tiny bit is used so a bottle lasts an incredibly long time.  It is completely clear, doesn't need rubbing in and is undetectable on the hair.  This product dramatically speeds up the time that it takes for me to blowdry my hair and it leaves my locks looking smooth and sleek without any sticky feeling whatsoever.  I cannot feel that I've used this in my hair whatsoever, I can only feel and see the benefits of it drying far quicker and leaving my hair looking fabulous.

The Color Wow Speed Dry spray has an alcohol free and low pH level formula that counteracts porosity and traps moisture inside the hair to help to dry it faster.  This is therefore safer and healthier for your hair as it is protecting it against too much heat which can damage the texture of the hair and accelerate colour fade.

Color Wow Haircare Review Image

The other products that I have tried from Color Wow have all been great too although Speed Dry is the stand out for me and definitely a product that I couldn't be without now.

The great thing about Color Wow is that they have their shampoo for everyone to use to cleanse their hair and then they have a couple of different types of conditioner that do the same thing but are aimed at different hair thicknesses.  This is a genius idea as often some conditioners can be too heavy for those with fine hair and can weigh it down.

The Color Wow Color Security Shampoo and Color Wow Color Security Conditioner for normal to thick hair have worked so well on my locks, especially when I had more extensions in.  I've been having a darker root stretch put through my hair and they have really helped to stop my hair from fading as quickly.  My hair is notorious for washing up quickly but I do think that the colour has remained in my hair for longer thanks to using this duo along with the other products in the line.  After use, my hair feels very clean but not stripped and the mid lengths and ends of my hair are nourished so well with the conditioner.

Color Wow Haircare Review Image

For styling, I always add the Color Wow Raise The Root spray to the roots on the top section of my head before round brushing my hair.  This product is designed to thicken the hair and give it lift, body and volume.  It contains a UV filter and crystal clear styling resins that wont yellow or darken the hair.  This is very typical of the Color Wow haircare range in that the products are all created with coloured hair in mind so that they wont encourage the colour to fade or change as a result of using their products or heat styling.

On my hair, the result of using this spray is a natural bouncy volume in my hair but nothing too extreme.  It doesn't feel as though my hair is coated or as though I have anything on my hair, it remains touchably soft from root to tip thanks to the lightweight 'elastimers' within the formula.

A product that also helps with this is the Color Wow Pop & Lock Crystallite Shellac which is a product that combines the conditioning benefits of a hair oil with the shine benefits of a serum.  It can be used on damp or dry hair to internally repair the hair and create a protective seal on it which helps to make hair colour pop and shine.  It even has a UV filter for added anti-fade protection.  I like to use it on damp hair through the mid lengths and ends.  For evenings out, if I want to add a little extra shine to my hair then occasionally I'll rub a small amount through my fingertips and pick up small strands to coat.

However when my hair is dry, I tend to use the Color Wow One Minute Transformation Cream and then just top up with a shine spray if I want a little extra shine.  This cream is literally a wonder product.  On days where my hair doesn't need a wash but I want that just blow dried look, I'll smooth some of this cream through the frizzy parts of my hair and then I'll round brush blow dry the area for 10 to 15 seconds and my hair is magically smoothed.  The ends of my hair get really dry and frizzy and this works wonders on them too, leaving them looking smooth and sleek.  Its definitely a wonder product!

If you're looking for high performing products that wont dull your hair colour then Color Wow is definitely the way to go.  They're not just for those with coloured hair but they have the added benefit of being kind to colour too.  The Speed Dry spray is an absolute MUST BUY for me, closely followed by the One Minute Transformation Cream!

The Swarovski Earrings That Can Upgrade Your Look Day and Night

Swarovski Solitaire Stud Earrings from Jewel Hut Image

The autumn months for me are by far my busiest time of the year both socially and professionally.  I'm always running around, heading to different meetings, events and mate dates but its so worth it and I absolutely love making the most of my life.

Despite being busy, I like to look as put together as I can whenever I go out and having a great selection of clothing, accessories and jewellery can really help me to do this.  A slick of lipstick and a little touch of sparkle can really go a long way to making you look as though you've put far more thought into your outfit than you actually have.

A pair of stud earrings are absolutely essential to me as they can be worn from daytime to evening to upgrade your look and will always make you look that little bit more put together.  Whether I'm lying around a pool with my hair up in a pineapple,  lunching with a client or enjoying cocktails with the girls, you can bet your bottom dollar I've got something pretty in my ears!

I either opt for something classic like pearls or sparkly like my Swarovski Solitaire Stud Earrings from The Jewel Hut as they go with EVERYTHING!

In today's post, I'm going to show how a simple pair of beautiful earrings can add a touch of sparkle to even the most casual of outfits.

For this look, I paired a snuggly River Island jumper with a black cami and denim leggings for a dressed down, daytime look that worked perfectly for running errands and a girlie catch up.

My Swarovski earrings keep this outfit from looking too laid back and combined with my Swarovski Slake Dot Grey Wrap Bracelet, my jewellery looks well thought out but still perfect for the daytime.  I bought this bracelet at the beginning of the year and have worn it so frequently ever since.  I love the varying crystal sizes and the layered look it gives without having to actually layer up lots of different bracelets.

Casual plus size outfit post featuring a River Island camo shacket Image

My second look is a new outfit combination that I've been wearing a lot recently.  Pairing my uber on-trend Green Camo Shacket with a Black Longline CamiClean Peg Trousers and Michael Kors Fulton Moc Flats, it is a look that is perfect for a stylish casual blogging day, hopping from meeting to meeting and back home again to type up my findings and take lots of photographs.

The all black base makes this outfit look smart while the camo shirt is a pop of something a little more trendy and daytime appropriate.  The Swarovski earrings add a feminine touch and up grade this outfit to smart-casual.

Particularly for day time looks, the trick is to choose earrings that aren't too big for your lobes as then they tend to become more statement pieces, reserved for the night time and if you really want your earrings to go with everything then choose a style that has minimal metal on them, that way they'll compliment every outfit and wont clash with any other metallics that you're wearing.

For evening attire, these earrings are perfectly suited, especially if you're looking for something to sparkle beautifully without detracting from the outfit.

When I attended the Made In Tyne & Wear Lifestyle Awards last week, I needed a gorgeous dress for the occasion.  There was only one place I thought of to head to; Little Mistress.  The Navy Embellished Neck Maxi Dress is the perfect autumn occasion dress and I snapped it up immediately.  Paired with my silver jewelled sandals, diamate clutch, sparkly bangles and beautiful solitaire stud earrings, my dress was able to be the star of the show while remaining perfectly complimented by my jewellery and accessories.

Investing in jewellery that can take you from day to night is absolutely essential if you're a busy bee that likes to look put together.  The Swarovski Solitaire Stud Earrings are a perfect example; they're small but not too dainty, superb quality but not too expensive, super sparkly but not OTT and they have very minimal metal on them so they go with everything!

New Paul & Joe Beaute Makeup Releases for Autumn 2016

Paul and Joe Beaute Autumn 2016 Makeup Eyeshadow Lipstick Brow Pen Image

Paul & Joe have released their new limited edition products for autumn/winter 2016 and as to be expected, the products and packaging are high performing, charming and feminine in equal proportions.

For the brows, theres the Paul & Joe Eyebrow Powder Duo, the Waterproof Eyebrow Liner and Eyebrow Pen and theres some gorgeous eyeshadow trios too.  For the lips, you'll find the new limited edition lipstick shades and lipstick cases and for the cheeks, Paul & Joe have released their new Cat Cheek Colours which are gorgeous pots of pearl powder beads mixed with cat shapes.  Of course, they couldn't leave the body out and with the weather turning colder, they've brought out a couple of new hand creams to keep dry, chapped hands at bay.

I've been trying out a few different pieces from the collection and have put together this green smokey eye look using them.

Paul and Joe Beaute Autumn 2016 Makeup Look Image

Paul and Joe Beaute Autumn 2016 Makeup Look Image

The stand out piece for me has to be the eyeshadows.  They're buttery soft, intensely pigmented and super long lasting.  The Paul & Joe Limited Edition Eye Colour Trios contain three gradient eyeshadow colours inspired by the green leaves turning to red then yellow throughout the autumn.

Paul & Joe Limited Edition Eyeshadow Colour Trio in A Stroll In The Park Image

The base formula of the eyeshadows contains Jojoba Oil which enables the rich colour pigments to adhere to the skin firmly for a smooth, long lasting colour.  The formula also contains moisturising extracts of Orange Flower Water, Rosa Roxburghu Fruit and White Lily so that the powder doesn't dry out the eyelids.

There are three different colour ways to choose from and I have A Stroll In the Park (104) which combines three green shades for an ombre effect, quite like the hues that you would associate with crisp green autumn leaves before they start to change colour.

Paul & Joe Limited Edition Eyeshadow Colour Trio in A Stroll In The Park Image

The three shades are so complimentry to one another and look great whether worn together as part of one eye look or on their own.  I did need to add my own brow bone highlight a a light dusting of a brown powder as a transition shade but aside from that, the shades that I used on my eyes in these photos are only from this Paul & Joe trio.

These shadows are so easy to blend and I didn't note any fall out.  I love how vibrant the eyeshadows are; the colour pay off is incredible with a gorgeous shine finish and no fading or creasing throughout the day.

Paul and Joe Limited Edition Lipstick Refill in Autumn Sun 099 Image

Another long lasting product from this line has to be the lipstick which actually pleasantly surprised me as it has such a gorgeous sheen to it and its so moisturising that I thought that it would come off very quickly.  The Paul & Joe lipstick shades for autumn are all about adding an effortlessly chic pop of deeper colour to your autumn make up looks.

They have reformulated the base to ensure that the lipsticks apply flawlessly to the lips and leave a brightly coloured, gleaming finish.  They have the new Glossy Fit Oil formula which contains  Cocoa Seed Butter, Jojoba Seed Oil and Lavender Oil.  These ingredients enable the rich shades to cling to the lips for an even, smooth finish with just one swipe.  Like with the eyeshadows, the lipsticks contain White Lily and Orange Flower Extracts to moisturise and hydrate the lips.

Paul and Joe Limited Edition Lipstick Refill in Autumn Sun 099 Image

The difference with lipsticks from this brand is that the lipstick bullet itself is sold as a refill and the packaging is sold separately.  You choose your outer packaging from the wide selection of designs that they have, which are usually limited edition, and then you choose your lipstick shade, which again are often limited edition.

I like this idea to some extent as the lipsticks come with a little cap on them so you could switch them out as often as you like and keep the case the same.  However in all honesty, this isn't something that I would use.  I would simply buy one case for each lipstick refill that I have and use them in the same way as a traditional lipstick.

Paul and Joe Limited Edition Lipstick Refill in Autumn Sun 099 Image

The Paul & Joe Limited Edition Lipstick Refill is available in three different shades; Autumn Sun (099), Kiss in the Park (100) and Snuggle Up (101).

I have the Autumn Sun shade with the Paul & Joe Limited Edition Lipstick Case in 034 which combines pale, muted autumn colours for a really pretty look.

Paul and Joe Beaute Autumn 2016 Makeup Eyeshadow Lipstick Brow Pen Swatches Image

Autumn Sun is described as a calming orange shade, reflecting the warm fall sunlight.  I wouldn't say that I necessarily agree with the description of the colour as it looks a little more red to me but the result is a stunning colour with a beautifully glossy finish that lasts on the lips.

This lipstick is incredibly comfortable to wear and I think it would be even better for those who suffer from dry, cracked lips in the winter time as I think it will enable you to wear lipstick confidently without worrying that it would cling and emphasis flakiness.

Paul and Joe Beaute Eyebrow Pen in Grey 01 Image

The only piece from the latest releases that I didn't enjoy was the Paul & Joe Eyebrow Pen in Grey (01).  If you prefer a felt tip liner for your brows then I'm sure you'd love this product as it does enable you to achieve beautifully defined brows with hair stroke precision.  Plus you can easily build the product to intensify the look which is good as the initial application is very light and natural.  I simply prefer powder products for my brows, plus the grey shade of this pen is unfortunately a little too cool toned for my hair colour and complexion.  I wish my hair was that ashy but it kicks out so much warmth!

The Paul & Joe Eyebrow Pens contain Orange Flower Water and Anise Fruit Extract which moisturise the area and White Lily Extract to prevent skin irritation.  This brow pen doesn't make the brow hairs dry out or go crispy at all which is what I do like about the formula.  I'd be interested to try out the brow powder from this brand to see how it would compare with my current products.

Paul and Joe Beaute Autumn 2016 Makeup Packaging Image

I'd highly recommend checking out the eyeshadows and lipsticks in particular if you like a great colour pay off and comfortable to wear products that last!  I think they'd make gorgeous gifts this Christmas too for a girlie girl as the packaging is so cute and feminine.

You'll find that Paul & Joe Beaute is available from ASOS, Beauty Bay and from Selfridges online so go check them out to update your look for autumn!

Barbour For Her Fragrance Review

Barbour For Her Perfume Fragrance Review Image

When I first discovered that country brand Barbour were going to be releasing mens and women's fragrances, in all honesty I didn't know what to expect.  For a company whose style resonates so well with the great outdoors, wax jackets and the countryside, I couldn't imagine what their fragrance would smell like but it certainly wasn't this.

On first smell of Barbour For Her, I noted how far away from my usual fragrance choices this perfume is but also how much I liked it.  If you're someone who likes a very pretty, feminine smelling scent, then this one is for you and with Christmas coming up, I think that this will be one of those scents that so many women will enjoy, it would make a fail safe gift.

Barbour For Her Perfume Fragrance Review Image

Barbour For Her Perfume Fragrance Review Image

Barbour For Her is a beautifully fruity, floral fragrance with contrasting notes and a hint of sophisticated sweetness.  It has notes of fruity redcurrant and spicy pink pepper, followed by a floral blend of rose, jasmine and blush peony which reminds me slightly of a lighter version of Jo Malone's Peony and Blush Suede, and then a base of musk, sweet vanilla and vetiver.

Musk is my favourite fragrance note which I think is what appeals to me with this scent because it gives it depth, rather than being too sweet or floral smelling.  The perfume feels quintessentially English with its floral scent and while I was surprised to smell such a sweet, flowery scent from Barbour, I can see where they were going with this fragrance.

While not particularly long lasting, the scent is beautiful nonetheless and makes the perfect daytime fragrance for me as I really do prefer to amp up my perfume with a sexier scent come the evening time.  If you don't like to do this then I'd think this would be an ideal fragrance for use during the day and at night.  It is simply beautiful.

The packaging is absolutely stunning and looks so beautiful on my dressing table.  Rose gold in colour, it is as feminine and pretty as the fragrance.  I love that it features the pattern of Barbour's iconic Liddesdale quilt.  The outer packaging is more traditionally what I think of as Barbour so to find the most beautiful rose gold bottle inside was a real treat.

I love the Barbour aesthetic anyway with the green and the earthy tones (I just wish I could get one of their incredible jackets in my size!) but for a fragrance bottle, something more girly works better which is why I think that they've got it spot on with their packaging of Barbour For Her.

Barbour was originally founded in 1894 and has always been based in the North East costal town of South Shields, which is quite near to where I grew up so I've always been passionate about the brand.  They're a 5th generation, family-owned business and lifestyle brand that manufacture and retail lots of iconic clothing items, footwear and accessories which are currently sold in over 40 different countries across the world.

The fragrance line has been created to compliment the clothing as Barbour continue to grow as a quintessentially British lifestyle brand.  If you're into your floral scents and you want something with a little grown up sweetness to it, then check out Barbour for her because it really is beautiful.

This fragrance is available direct from the Barbour website here for the 50ml and here for the 100ml.
