What do you hate about shopping?

Where possible, I like to have a lazy Saturday morning, enjoying a cuppa in bed and a scroll through Facebook on my phone.  I came across a post that had gone viral with the caption 'A tribute to married men worldwide' with loads of crying laughing emojis and it featured men looking sick as a chip while out shopping with their wives.

It reminded me of an infographic that I had seen Andrews Air Conditioning put together, talking about what your partner dislikes about shopping.

I'm sure there's plenty of things that each of us love about shopping but also things that we hate too.

For me, I hate wandering around a shopping centre when its too hot and really packed full of people as does my husband.  We live near to the Metrocentre and while its my favourite place to go shopping, some days it feels as though the whole of the North East has chosen to go there and busy days like that are potentially panic attack inducing for me.  However on quieter days, I love going for a look around the shops there because you get to feel the fabric of the clothing, try them on before you buy and often I get inspired by pieces that I never would have online.  While my hubby isn't a fan of shopping any day, if its quieter and we can get round the shopping centre quickly, he's happy.  He HATES it when I want to look in loads of different shops!

Another thing that I and my husband hate about shopping in store is that there tends to not be as many sizes as there are online.  I'm assuming stores will just carry less clothes than warehouses but its certainly annoying when something is sold out in your size!

I love shopping for makeup in store far more than I do online because you get to swatch the products, feel their texture and see their true colour whereas when you're looking online, a lot of it is guess work which can become a very costly mistake if you get your shade wrong.  That being said, I hate pushy sales assistants in stores and I can't stand it when I decide to buy a drugstore makeup product, only to find that someone has stuck their finger in every pot behind the tester!

I guess there's always going to be something to complain about regardless of how you shop!

  1. What I hate about shopping is that I can never seem to find the right jacket to wear - too thick or the wrong material and I'm a sweaty mess, too light and I get cold walking around in this weather.

  2. I totally agree with you sizes tend to be awful in stores and I end up going home to order online anyway. I hate changing rooms generally as they're small, stuffy and you can rarely see properly anyway x

  3. I agree with you on shopping on quieter days. I can't even think straight when so many people are around and always either come back empty hands or make some terrible purchases and regret them later on. That is the reason I never go at sales.

  5. I hate similar things to you too. As a woman of a certain age most shops are far Too Warm! I really have to think about what to wear. If I have to try something on I end up a perspiring wreck!
