We all know how much I love a Scarlett and Jo Sweetheart 2 in 1 Dress and this one with the fabulous tropical print is no exception.
With its sweetheart neckline, 3/4 length sleeves and elasticated waistband, it makes for a comfortable and flattering fit.
I've been wearing the Scarlett and Jo 2 in 1 dresses for years, long before I became a brand ambassador for them and this shape is undoubtedly my favourite; it feels so feminine and fun.
However it was the colourful tropical print skirt that drew me to this dress. The floral design is filled with pink and orange hues which is so eye catching and perfect for the summer months.
If I had a holiday coming up soon then I'd definitely be packing this dress in my suitcase!
When ordering this dress, I'd suggest going for your usual label as it fits true to size. These dresses are created with what founder Gifi Fields calls 'spread,' meaning that theres plenty of fabric within the skirt so that when you sit down, theres no riding up and revealing tomorrows laundry.
The length is perfect too. For reference, I'm 5ft 5" and think that anyone taller than me could definitely still wear this dress, same with those who are shorter too. Scarlett and Jo do have Tall and Petite ranges on their website which you can check out here for height specific pieces.

With a dress design thats as attention grabbing as this one, I'd always suggest keeping your accessories to a minimum to let the dress stand out.
I paired it with my black Primark flatforms (alternatives linked below) and my black Mulberry Lily which is one of the best bag investments I've ever made. The size lends itself perfectly to daytime or evening wear, it goes with more or less everything and it still looks great with age.
For accessories, I added my cheap as chips silver and rose gold necklace from Goldsmiths Boutique and my gorgeous bangles from StudioB in Sunderland, which is a boutique in Sunderland City Centre that also sell online through Facebook too.
The night that I wore this outfit, I was heading out to an engagement party but although it was bank holiday weekend, there was no rest for the wicked as I had to take some headshots for some work that I have coming up.
The lovely Melissa aka Makeup By Mellins did my makeup for me and the result, I'm sure you'll agree, was gorgeous! I loved the gel liner that she used and how she took that onto my bottom lash line and blended the eyeshadow lower than I'd have dared to go before. Its definitely a look that I'll be recreating myself.
You can follow Mel on her Facebook, Twitter and Instagram for gorgeous makeup looks and fun behind the scenes snaps of her working on clients, including fellow mackem, Charlotte Crosby from Geordie Shore.
The Sweetheart 2 in 1 dress is available direct from the Scarlett and Jo website (if you sign up to the S&J Club, you'll get 10% off all of your purchases!) and also from Debenhams.
