Yardley London Launch English Dahlia and Win with Bluebell

Yardley London English Dahlia and Bluebell Fragrance and Body Care Review Image

Spring has sprung at Yardley London with the release of the new addition to their Contemporary Classics Floral Collection, English Dahlia.  Now granted this was an Autumn release but I've been testing so many products out lately that I've only just got chance to tell you all about them... and hey!  Spring is fast approaching, florals are perfect all year round, especially in spring and I'm sure we're not all in the business of splitting hairs here!

Many of you will have heard of Yardley before.  They're a highly regarded, quintessentially British brand who have been capturing the scent of English flowers since the company first launched way back in 1770.  They offer a huge selection of body fragrances, eau de toilette perfumes, bath and bodycare, products for men and even gifts, all in flowery scents.

English Dahlia is a green floral Chypre with its citrus top notes together with neroli and apple, a heart of opulent dahlia accords, rose and peony and a base of musk, patchouli and cedar.  These base notes, together with the dahlia, give the scent plenty of warmth and depth.

This has to be the most me scent that I've tried from Yardley, most probably because I'm not too big on heavy or fresh florals and this one being more sensual and sexy is a lot more suited to me.  I think the inclusion of musk, which is one of my favourite fragrance notes, certainly helps.

Yardley London English Dahlia is available in an Eau De Toilette in both 50ml bottle and 100ml bottles, as a body spray and as a Hand Cream.  For an eau de toilette, the scent is quite long lasting and it smells very authentic and true to its notes.

My favourite product has to be the hand cream because it is so nourishing on the skin.  It is lightly fragranced with the dahlia scent which is a lovely touch but it is the formula of the hand cream that kept me using it.  A combination of nourishing shea butter, floral nectar extract, macadamia oil and antioxidant vitamin E ensure that it is hydrating and moisturising on the hands while conditioning and strengthening the nails.  It has been perfect for me, especially over the cold winter days.

I really like that it sinks in quickly to the skin and doesn't leave my hands feeling sticky or greasy.

I have also been trying out some of the Yardley London Bluebell range which won Best Female Fragrance at the Pure Beauty Awards in 2016.  This scent is much more of a fresh and fruity floral than the sensual floral that describes English Dahlia.

Bluebell has top notes of bergamot and cassis, heart notes of bluebell, jasmine, lily of the valley, peony and peach and a base of smooth, woody notes, vanilla and my good ol' fave, musk.

Yardley London Bluebell is available in an Eau De Toilette with a 50ml bottle and 125ml bottle as well as in a refreshing Body Spray, a nourishing hand cream and a fragrance mist.

The Yardley London Bluebell Fragrance Mist is my favourite from this range because I think that the freshness of the scent matches well with the freshness of the formula of the fragrance mist.  It is perfect for those days when you just want to smell of something fresh and clean and not of a distinctive perfume.

I think that the Yardley London range is ideally suited to those women who prefer more traditional scents.  They are perfect for those who really love true floral fragrances where the floral notes really stand out.

While Mother's Day isn't here yet, I do think that this post would be great to book mark for it coming up next month as a selection of Yardley London products in a hamper with a box of choccies and a bottle of wine would make a fabulous gift for a mother or grandmother.

You can find Yardley London products in Boots, Lloyds Pharmacy, Argos, Asda, Sainsbury's and Tesco stores, independent chemists and online.  For full stockist information, click here.

  1. The hand cream sounds really wonderful and the Bluebell scent sounds like one that I would quite enjoy. I like a scent that is light and clean and not overly perfume-like.

  6. Yardley isn't a product I have actually tried, but it sounds lovely. If my mum wasn't allergic to most fragrance, I might even buy her it! x
