Getting To Know... WhatLauraLoves with Chris Ord Photography

Getting To Know... Plus Size Blogger WhatLauraLoves with Chris Ord Photography wearing Yours Clothing

Earlier this month, I caught up with North East photographer, Chris Ord, to be interviewed as part of the new 'Getting To Know...' segment on his youtube channel.  This is a series where Chris interviews creatives from across the North East to find out more about their work.

If you have checked out my review of the Orangegrass Thai restaurant in South Shields, then you'll have spotted Chris' photography as he is the guy behind the lens of all of those delicious food shots.

Getting To Know... Plus Size Blogger WhatLauraLoves with Chris Ord Photography wearing Yours Clothing

During the interview, I talk openly and honestly about the impact that I want to have with each blog post and why maintaining integrity when reviewing products is vital too me.  I give you an insight into why I started blogging, the reservations I had about sharing plus sized fashion posts and the advice that I would give to those wanting to start out writing a blog.

We look at what its like to be self employed in this industry, my thoughts on reviewing products and the debatably small number of bloggers who are in it for the freebies.  I share my least favourite things about blogging such as the hate and jealousy, particularly woman against women or blogger against blogger, and the impact that this can have on other readers, as well as the things that I love about blogging and one of the main reasons as to why I blog; inspiring other women to be the best version of themselves every single day.

Do you find it difficult to praise or describe yourself?  Self depreciation is my  forte while being concise certainly isn't my strong point.  During the video, Chris asked me to describe myself in 5 words, which I can assure you, took far longer than the clever edit made it look!

Finally, we look at some red carpet fashion fails before giving you a behind the scenes look at shooting photographs in the beautiful gardens at Jarrow Hall.

I chose to wear an outfit that represents typical workwear for me to shoot the photographs in; a pair of Yours Clothing White & Navy Stripe Palazzo Trousers and the Navy Sleeveless V-Neck Jersey Top.  This pair are a great duo whether it be for work or a weekend day out shopping with friends.  I'll be reviewing them soon on my blog.

QVC Beauty TiLi Box

Ladies, listen up!  The new TiLi Box from QVC Beauty has launched and I'm sure you're going to LOVE whats inside; I certainly do!

TILI stands for Try it Love it which is aptly named as inside each TiLi Box you'll find deluxe sized samples of the latest products and cult classics, all from brands available at QVC.

Some you may be familiar with, others may be new to you but with QVC, you know you're always going to get high quality and great value; that's the beauty of this box.

Unlike other beauty boxes, you're not signing up to a contract with TiLi Box; if you like what you see then you can purchase it for a small, one-off fee which could save you money in the long run.

How you may ask?

Well, how many times have you made a beauty purchase and regretted it?  I'm sure many of you are raising your hands right about now.  The fact is, not all beauty products work for everyone; we all have different preferences, skin types, sensitivities, etc which makes it impossible for all products to suit all people, all of the time.

With TiLi Box, you're able to try out generously sized samples before committing to the full size, which could save you a pretty penny in the long run if you don't end up enjoying the product.  Similarly, you may just discover your new holy grail beauty product!

This box is the 4th edition and its clear to see that the TiLi Box team of beauty experts have dedicated a lot of time to carefully curating its contents.

Inside, you'll find the perfect mix of makeup, skin, hair, nail and body care, all beautifully packaged along with an overview card that also details the ingredients of each product.

If you're someone who loves to be one of the first to try new launches, then you'll love that they've included the NEW Alpha H Liquid Gold Rose, a QVC exclusive, which I actually attended the launch of in London last March.

The formula is a little more of a gentle chemical exfoliator than the original and it has added rich and aromatic botanicals, antioxidants, minerals and clinically proven moisture boosters in the form of rose, sacred lotus and orchid petal.  If you've tried the original Alpha Liquid Gold then I do think that you'll enjoy this version and if you found the original too strong then this one is definitely worth a try; the generously sized 50ml bottle will give you more than enough product to really decide if it works for you.  Simply apply to a cotton pad and sweep it over your face, neck and décolletage on alternate nights.  Follow up with your usual skincare or skip it for maximum benefit overnight.

I have a full review coming up on this product soon on my blog as I've been using the full size for the last month.

When using a product such as the Alpha H Liquid Gold Rose, wearing sunscreen the day after is even more important as the skin will be more sensitive and therefore susceptible to burning and sun damage.  For that reason, I love that there is a 25ml tube of the Ultrasun Face SPF 30 included within the box.

The Ultrasun face sunscreen is absolutely fantastic as it is suitable for all skin types, even very sensitive skin, and it is very high performing.  My hubby and I used the full size version throughout the few weeks we spent in the Maldives at the beginning of the year and didn't burn our faces at all.

SPF is worth investing in to get the best possible protection and this once-a-day cream with heavy duty UVA and UVB protection is perfect because it maintains the skins moisture levels.  It smoothes onto the skin beautifully and since it is lightweight, it absorbs effortlessly and doesn't clog the pores.  Only a small amount is needed so this tube would make a great travel size for your suitcase this summer.

I'm heading off to Bali very soon to stay at the amazing Bliss Sanctuary For Women in Canggu.  After hearing so much about it on their Youtube Channel, I cannot wait to experience the relaxation and to try out yoga for the first time!

The great thing about the TiLi Beauty Box is that on the website page for the box here, they not only list what each product is and what it does but also how to use it as well.  While it wouldn't be necessary for the Julien Farel hyaluronic acid enriched Vitamin Shampoo and marine collagen enriched Conditioner which, lets face it, is pretty self explanatory, it certainly is needed for some other products such as tanning and skincare.

'How to use' information is something that I find is lacking with other beauty boxes and it can result in the product not being used in the correct way which can cause skin reactions at worst and at least, it can mean that you may not use a product at all or you may decide that you don't like a product when actually, you're just not using it in a way that makes it perform at its best.

I turned to this information when I was looking at the Erno Laszio Cleansing Oil and Cleansing Bar as I wasn't sure which way round to use these skincare products.  They're essentially a high end double cleanse regime and you use the two products together morning and night to remove dirt, makeup and impurities from the skin.

There are two different sets so each person who purchases a TiLi Box will either receive the Firm set which has a formula that helps to plump and firm the look of your complexion or the Hydrate set which helps to restore moisture to the skin.

Both are used in the same way; simply massage a couple of pumps of the oil onto dry skin, then wet the cleansing bar and rub it directly onto the skin to combine it with the oil, before rinsing and patting dry.

Another skin cleansing product comes in this edition of the TiLi Box in the form of the Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser.  This is a cult classic that I'm sure most of you will have tried out and if you haven't, this box is a great way to try it.

The contents of the tube are all you would need for a weekend away this summer and you get a pure muslin cloth included too which helps to exfoliate the skin gently while the cleansing cream is effectively breaking up the makeup and dirt on the skin.

The product that I am most intrigued to use from the box is the Vita Liberata 10 Minute Tan, infused with rosehip and neroli extracts.  You read that correctly; 10 MINUTE TAN, unbelievable!

It is a self tanning lotion that you can apply to the skin and leave on for only 10 minutes to achieve an odour-free golden tan that develops within four to six hours.

Not only do QVC have the hair, skin and body covered but the TiLi Box contains makeup and a nail polish too.  I've been a fan of the Benefit They're Real Mascara since I picked one up in duty free earlier this year and I can't wait to see how Roller Lash compares!

The nail polish in the box is by OPI in the shade Getting Nadi On My Honeymoon.  I love OPI polishes as the formula, drying time and staying power of them is really top notch.  Plus they're not cheap polishes, so getting one as part of this box makes it even better value for money.

Each TiLi Box will contain one of the shades from the new spring/summer 17 Fiji Collection and this one is a gorgeous lilac-toned pastel pink.  I can't wait to wear it when I get back from my holiday as I think it'll look incredible with a suntan!

Another product that I'm really excited to try out is the IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC Cream.  I've heard blogger Anna Gardner from The Anna Edit talk a lot about IT Cosmetics and this product in particular so I'm looking forward to seeing if it lives up to the hype.  The shade in the box is medium so whether or not that shade is right for me, only time will tell but I'll certainly be able to test out the coverage, finish and longevity of it, regardless of what shade I use!

The QVC Beauty TiLi Box is only £20 and with such a great selection of deluxe sample sizes to try out inside from some of the top brands, I think that it is great value for money.

Not only does this box give you the opportunity to try out a varied range of products before committing to purchasing the full size but it is also giving you the chance to do so without a subscription.  You can't say fairer than that!

If you love what you see inside this edition of the QVC Beauty TiLi Box, then order yours here!

Abercrombie & Fitch First Instinct Perfume Review

Abercrombie & Fitch First Instinct Perfume Review

When spring rolls around, there's always one new launch that particularly stands out to me and this year, it was the release of the Abercrombie & Fitch First Instinct For Her perfume.

If you're a fan of their premium quality casual wear then you'll know that Abercrombie & Fitch are not new to the fragrance market.  They have released many different fragrances exclusively in their stores over the years, but this is the first time that they have released a perfume for sale on the fragrance market at a range of retailers from Debenhams and John Lewis to Feel Unique.

The fragrance was developed exclusively with Inter Parfums who are the team behind many highly regarded perfume brands from Agent Provocateur, Anna Sui and Jimmy Choo to Mont Blanc, Paul Smith and Van Cleef & Arpels.

Abercrombie & Fitch First Instinct Perfume Review

Following hot on the heels of the mens version that came out last year, First Instinct for women is an absolutely beautiful fragrance that in all honesty, I wasn't expecting.  I can't lie, when I thought of Abercrombie & Fitch, I imagined either something overly fresh or too sweet, basic and forgettable.

In reality, First Instinct for women is far more unique and has a beautifully layered choice of fragrance notes that make it stand out from anything else I have in my collection... and if you know me by now, then you'll understand that I'm referring to quite the collection!

Abercrombie & Fitch First Instinct Perfume Review

Abercrombie & Fitch First Instinct is a Floriental fragrance, inspired by the first moment of attraction between two people; a moment that cannot be put into words.  It represents a spark, initial connection and first glance which translates into a beautiful yet uncomplicated, easy to wear fragrance.

It has a sophisticated yet playful opening of fruit and floral top notes that I think will surprise many people who try this scent.  Think of sun-kissed magnolia blooms, uplifting and awakening grapefruit zest and the sweet dewy brightness that comes with passion fruit.

The heart of First Instinct takes femininity and brings out something sensual and captivating with floral notes of wild orange flower, butterfly orchid and exotic water lily, before settling on the most incredible base.

The base of First Instinct is all about contrasts with warm amber, creamy tonka bean and addictive musk, which we all know by now is my favourite base for perfume.

The result is the most beautifully combined scent that is playful and feminine yet alluring and sensual.  It is the perfect mix of notes for me and one that I think many women will love, especially those in their twenties.

The scent is unique and unlike anything else I can think of.  The eau de parfum formulation isn't terribly long lasting but that can work in its favour as the scent isn't overpowering or too heavy, making it a fantastic daytime fragrance whether you're out at work or uni, as well as it being equally suited to evening wear.

First Instinct would make the perfect date night fragrance, especially for a first date where you don't want a scent that is going to be too heady or offensive.  It is a fragrance that enables you to smell effortlessly feminine, girly and sophisticated.  There's a playful, flirty feel to it that I find really endearing.

Abercrombie & Fitch First Instinct Perfume Review

Everything about this perfume is beautiful and pretty but in a very authentic, easy to wear way.  It isn't a scent that is trying too hard; it is effortlessly beautiful and original without even trying to be.  This makes it perfect for wearing day to day.

The femininity of the fragrance transpires through to the packaging too which was developed by Fabrice Legros who wanted to combine masculinity with femininity.  The bottle is rectangular in shape yet is then rounded off to give it a softer, more feminine feel.

The light pink perfume inside the glass bottle combined with the metal cap and Abercrombie & Fitch stamped metal plaque that are also in a light pink hue, give a further feminine touch to what is often thought of as the styling of male packaging.

Undeniably, this is one fragrance that will not look out of place on any dressing table, beauty cabinet or dresser.

Abercrombie & Fitch First Instinct Perfume Review

Since First Instinct for her is such an easy to wear fragrance that I think many women will love, I'd suggest it as being the perfect choice when buying a perfume as a gift.  I can't envisage many women not loving this beautiful scent!

Abercrombie & Fitch First Instinct for Women was launched exclusively at Debenhams and is now available in stores nationwide and online.

Check out the retailers below or head to John Lewis and Feel Unique where you'll find 30ml, 50ml and 100ml bottles of the fragrance.

There's currently a gift with purchase available from some retailers, including The Fragrance Shop, who are giving away a great quality Abercrombie & Fitch cap with purchases of the 50ml and 100ml size First Instinct.

Top 5 Tips For Choosing & Wearing Plus Size Denim

If I were to create a plus size fashion capsule wardrobe, denim jeans would be one of the first items I'd pick out.  They're a wardrobe staple because they're can be dressed down for casual weekends spent shopping and dressed up for nights out with a killer pair of heels, a smart top and a clutch bag.

The key is to find a style that suits you and fits you well but that can be quite tricky, especially if you're very disproportionally shaped like I am.  So many women struggle to find denim that fits them perfectly as a lot of the time jeans end up being too tight where they don't want them to be and too baggy in other areas.

I used to always find that when I buy plus size jeans to fit my tummy, they end up being huge on the legs.  To some extent, that will always be the case because that is how I am shaped however over the years I have honed my skills and become better at finding plus size denim to suit me.  Its those tips that I want to share with you today.

1. Try out skinny jeans
My first piece of advice is to try on a pair of skinny jeans.  So many curvy women shy away from them, thinking that they're designed for much slimmer women but that isn't the case at all.  Everyone can wear and feel fabulous in a pair of skinny jeans, especially those who have the same struggles as I do with the legs on jeans being too big and the waist and hips being too small.

Skinny jeans are tapered down so that the legs are slimmer as they get towards the ankle.  If you're much larger around your tummy than your legs like I am, then you'll often find that skinny jeans are a great option for you because they'll not be as baggy around the legs.

I have some pairs of skinny jeans that really are skinny and aren't baggy on the legs at all and I have some that fit more like straight leg jeans but either way, they look really great.  Its all about trying on lots of different styles and finding which ones work best for you.

2. Don't forget sister styles!
If denim jeans had sisters, they'd be jeggings and denim look leggings, neither of which should ever be over looked.  The great thing about these two types of bottoms is that they're both stretchy (the latter more so than the former) and they both have elasticated waists.  This often means that you're able to fit into a particular size more comfortably than you would in jeans which can sometimes push you into sizing up because their waistbands offer very little elastic in the waistband.

Denim look leggings in particular are fantastic for if you're looking for a jean style to tuck into long boots, as they're super stretchy but much more of a close fit on the legs.

3. Try out different washes
Jeans are available in a whole range of different colours and washes.  If you're not feeling particularly confident about them, start with an easy-to-wear dark wash in indigo blue or black, in one solid colour.  These will be so versatile in your wardrobe and can be worn with a multitude of different outfits.  Plus these shades are traditionally considered to be the most flattering, if that's something you're interested in.

However I'm very much a believer in wearing what you think looks great and works well with your style.  Jeans in so many different washes and colours suit a huge range of sizes, shapes and ages so just go with the flow and as you enjoy your jeans more and find how easy they are to work into your wardrobe, branch out and try other washes and colours.

I personally love light wash blue denim and white jeans in the summer with a kaftan and I even like wearing my white jeans in winter with a knitted poncho over the top.

4. Give high waisted a try
There are a number of different cuts when it comes to jeans from low rise to high waisted.  My recommendation would be to try one of each on so that you can see the difference and how the jeans sit on your body.

If you have a lower hanging, mothers apron tummy like I do then high waisted jeans might be your best bet.  I find that they don't come down or sit at an angle that I find unflattering on my body shape, the way that low rise jeans do, leaving me to feel uncomfortable in them all day.  Instead the high waisted ones tend to pull me in, smooth over my tummy which I love and look like a much better fit on my shape.

5. Shop around
Never be disheartened when shopping for denim.  Every shop online and on the high street that I can possibly think of sells denim so if you head into one shop to try on a pair of jeans and they're not the best fit for you or if you don't feel completely happy in them, then leave them and try another store.

Shopping around will not only enable you to find the right jeans for you but you may also find some other gems in the shops you go into that you wouldn't have picked up before!

What are your tips for buying and wearing denim?

Annick Goutal Tenue de Soirée Fragrance Review

Annick Goutal Tenue de Soirée Fragrance Review

When Annick Goutal launched Tenue De Soirée, I knew that I would be in for a real treat.  Opulent and gourmand yet youthful and fun, this is a stunning, contemporary take on a chypre fragrance with notes of iris and patchouli.

If I could liken the scent to any other, it would be a modern day Gucci Rush... now theres a throwback for you!

Inspired by the exciting feeling of what is to come following a night in Paris, Tenue De Soirée encapsulates the elegance and power of a woman who is getting ready for a night out; choosing her favourite tenue de soirée (or evening dress!) and spritzing on her favourite, empowering fragrance.

Tenue de Soirée is unlike anything else from Annick Goutal; it set out to be a manifesto of audacity, a perfume of liberty and that it certainly is.

Annick Goutal Tenue de Soirée Fragrance Review

As with the fragrance itself, the bottle style is new to Annick Goutal and provides a beautifully opulent yet fun contrast to the styling of their other perfumes.  I love the purple gradient glass bottle that was inspired by the sky at dusk, the detachable rich purple fluffy pompom inspired by the puffs on vintage compacts that adds a whimsical touch to the aesthetic of the perfume and the luxury touch from the dangling gold medallion.

This gold accent is actually stamped with the initials of the fragrance house.  I love that Annick Goutal thought of everything when creating this fragrance as it hits all of the senses from smell with the perfume, sight with the aesthetic of the bottle, touch with the tactile pompom and also sound as the little gold medallion clinks against the bottle like two glasses of champagne.

What could be more luxurious?

Annick Goutal Tenue de Soirée Fragrance Review

Tenue de Soirée is an addictive scent that I can wear it day or night, plus it lasts for hours before I need to top it up.  I do find that as the day goes on, its scent is more noticeable to others than myself and I have had many compliments on since I started wearing it.

If you're looking for a delicious, elegant scent, pick this one up from House of Fraser for the 50ml and here for the 100mlSelfridges and John Lewis.

Celebrity Style Favourite Embroidered Top & a Night at Jason Cook's Comedy Club in The Customs House

Plus Size Embroidered Bardot Top Yours Clothing Customs House Jason Cooks Comedy Club South Shields

Embroidery is everywhere this spring from shirts and tops to jeans, leather jackets and trainers.

Italian design houses, Gucci and Dolce and Gabbana, have massively backed the trend this year and really led the way with some incredible examples of floral and bird embroidery in every colour palette imaginable.

Plus Size Embroidered Bardot Top Yours Clothing Customs House Jason Cooks Comedy Club South Shields

It goes without saying that when such big designer names are leading the way, celebrities follow, making the embroidered trend cool again.

You can't pick up a magazine or scroll through Instagram without seeing Cara Delevingne or Kendall Jenner rocking an embroidered piece.

Clothing with this accent is the MUST HAVE choice to add to your wardrobe this season but you don't need to break the bank in order to update your look.

Plus Size Embroidered Bardot Top Yours Clothing Customs House Jason Cooks Comedy Club South Shields

The high street have been very quick to create fashion forward, affordable pieces and plus size favourite, Yours Clothing, are flying the flag for the fuller figured fashionistas out there.

From the floral embroidered ripped jeans and pink knitted tee to the mesh body that has major sex appeal and the sheer shirt that so many of you loved when I wore it in this Instagram post, Yours Clothing have got you covered.

As well as their own range and their Limited Collection, Yours Clothing also stock a fabulous range of plus size brands to keep your wardrobe on point.

Plus Size Embroidered Bardot Top Yours Clothing Customs House Jason Cooks Comedy Club South Shields

AX Paris Curve are one of the brands sold at Yours and I've been a fan of their clothing for many years.

Longtime readers of WhatLauraLoves may remember the abundance of outfit posts that I put together wearing their gorgeous dresses, including my favourite lemon dress that my darling husband burned beyond repair with the iron; this is still a sore subject!
Plus Size Embroidered Bardot Top Yours Clothing Customs House Jason Cooks Comedy Club South Shields

The AX Paris Curve Black & Pink Rose Embroidery Style Bardot Top is my favourite embroidered piece from Yours Clothing right now because it ticks all the right style boxes for me.  Not only because of the beautiful rose design against the black which is an effortlessly standout combination in my opinion but because of the off-shoulder Bardot style that we all know I adore and the tie sleeves.

They can be tied loosely, knotted or in a bow, the latter of which is my favourite but either way, they look as girlie as you want them to and so pretty.

Plus Size Embroidered Bardot Top Yours Clothing Customs House Jason Cooks Comedy Club South Shields

The top is a woven material without any stretch to it, except for across the shoulders where it is elasticated, as to be expected from this style of top.  I tend to find that items from the brands or Limited Collection at Yours tend to run a size smaller than their standard range so with that and the fabric in mind, I'd suggest sizing up.

Plus Size Embroidered Bardot Top Yours Clothing Customs House Jason Cooks Comedy Club South Shields

What I love about the cut of this top is that if you're generously shaped like I am, then you'll often find that to get a woven or none stretchy material to fit over your tummy then you'll need to size up, which tends to make some tops and dresses very big across the shoulders but that's not the case with this top.

The elastic across the shoulders isn't too slack, even when sizing up to accommodate my tummy; it is tight enough to be secure and keep the top down off my shoulders but it has more than enough give in the elastic for it to extend to fit my shape perfectly.

Plus Size Embroidered Bardot Top Yours Clothing Customs House Jason Cooks Comedy Club South Shields

When wearing the embroidery trend, I'd suggest keeping the rest of your outfit really simple to let that gorgeous detail do all the talking.

For me, that meant sticking to an almost exclusively black colour palette with a pop of colour thanks to some chunky heels I've had for more years than I care to imagine.

I paired the Bardot top with some leather look leggings, similar to these ones that are coming soon to Yours Clothing and my new LV Twist Bag.

Plus Size Embroidered Bardot Top Yours Clothing Customs House Jason Cooks Comedy Club South Shields

To tie a look like this together, I'd suggest adding another pop of colour with a lipstick in a similar shade to that depicted in the embroidery; should that be suitable of course.  I am by no means suggesting a frosty blue hue reminiscent of Rose as she waved tatty bye to Jack, sinking into the water at the end of Titanic, far from it.

However if the embroidery of your particular garment features pink, coral, red or another hue that you love to wear then go for it.  In my case, that was the Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick in Lost Cherry (review here).

This style of outfit is ideal for drinks in a bar with friends, enjoying a meal in a restaurant on date night or for the theatre with your bestie.

I took these photos at The Customs House in South Shields before I went to see Jason Cook's Comedy Club which saw acts such as 8 Out Of 10 Cats & Mock The Week's Alun Cochrane and hilarious scouser Adam Rowe take to the stage.

The Customs House Jason Cooks Comedy Club South Shields
If you're in the North East and you're looking for a great night out then this is the best stand up comedy you'll find in the region by a clear mile.  My friend and I had a fantastic night and after a very stressful week, the side splitting laughter was very much appreciated.  We particularly enjoyed the comedic songs penned by Jason Cook and Glen Roughead which took me back to my teens where I'd spend afternoons laughing away to Lee Evans DVDs with my Nana, as he'd always perform songs as part of his gigs.

What I loved about Jason Cook's Comedy Club was that a great night was encouraged without the need for heckling, which is particularly good for lesser known acts, just starting out on the comedy circuit.  The Customs House are highly regarded for supporting and nurturing new, fresh talent and its quite exciting to think that you could be watching the next big comic up there on that stage, hand picked by Jason amongst the more well known faces.

The laid back, friendly, anything goes atmosphere ensured that the audience could sit back, relax and enjoy the show.

Comedy is all about enjoying yourself and feeling free to laugh out loud uncontrollably and Jason Cook's Comedy Club at The Customs House definitely has the right environment for that.
Plus Size Embroidered Bardot Top Yours Clothing Customs House Jason Cooks Comedy Club South Shields

Turns out, laughing can be tremendous therapy and both my friend and I left with huge smiles on our faces, promising to return for another night at the comedy club.

Who knows what I'll wear next time or which trend I'll be inspired by but one things for certain, I'm guaranteed to have a great night!

If you're loving the embroidered trend like I am then scroll left to right below to see the current range of plus size embroidered fashion at Yours Clothing!

By Terry Baume de Rose Face Cream & Crystalline Lip Care Review

By Terry Baume de Rose Face Cream & Crystalline Lip Care Review

I'm going to go out on a limb now ladies and say that I'm pretty sure you'll have all heard of the iconic By Terry Baume de Rose Lip Care balm and if you haven't then you seriously need to get to know about this miracle worker!

The Baume de Rose lip balm has had a cult following for YEARS now thanks to its healing properties and ability to make the lips softer than soft.  Now By Terry have brought the Baume de Rose power of intense hydration and dazzling radiance to a new skincare range that has recently launched.

Perhaps a move that was guaranteed to be a hit after Terry de Gunzburg saw great success with tinted versions of the original Baume de Rose and fans were crying out for more, myself included.

By Terry Baume de Rose Face Cream & Crystalline Lip Care Review

I have been trying out two products from the line; firstly, the By Terry Baume de Rose Crystalline which I believe has been available for quite a while now and secondly the face cream.

Lets start with what has been keeping my lips soft and kissable over the last month.

By Terry Baume de Rose Face Cream & Crystalline Lip Care Review

Essentially, the By Terry Baume de Rose Crystalline is the original lip balm that we know and love but in a tube and wand format rather than a pot.  I much prefer this as I hate having to try to navigate my finger into a little pot when my nails are long.

If you're looking for a balm thats going to be intensely hydrating and softening then you've come to the right place as this gem contains lipid-boosting and nourishing actives that help to repair, rejuvenate and protect the lips.

This isn't one of those barely there products; you can really feel the extremely rich rose wax formula as you smooth it onto your lips and when you massage them together, your lips feel softer in seconds.  Not only that but it is packed full of nourishing botanical oils to boost cell renewal, Shea butter to hydrate the lips and Vitamin E to fight against skin ageing.  The lips often show signs of age and stress as they can lose their fullness and develop fine, crepe like lines.

By Terry Baume de Rose Face Cream & Crystalline Lip Care Review

Baume de Rose Crystalline even contains By Terry's exclusive Hydroskin Complex which heals and supplies strength, nutrition and comfort to the lips.  It is like lip care SOS in a tube as while it is perfect for using everyday like I do, if you're ever feeling like your lips are dry or if they're cracking, apply some of this and it literally works magic overnight.

Whether you're wearing this balm for its preparing, nourishing and regenerating properties or simply because you prefer a lip balm over other types of lip products, I think you'll love the way that it makes your lips look and feel.

With an incredibly addictive yet not overbearing rose fragrance and an ultra rich formula, it feels luxurious to apply and really laughs in the face of other lip balms.  It doesn't feel sticky on the lips at all yet it stays in place for hours and hours, deeply nourishing the lips as the hours tick by!

Plus, it is also available in a mini size which is perfect for travel, so what's not to love?

By Terry Baume de Rose Face Cream & Crystalline Lip Care Review

The product that I have fallen in love with from the new skincare line is the By Terry Baume de Rose Face Cream.

In the same vein as the lip balm, the face cream has the most delicious rose scent that even a non-rose lover like me loves!  The fragrance isn't overpowering or artificial and it smells much more luxurious than any other rose scent I've found in skincare products which makes it a real treat to use.

By Terry Baume de Rose Face Cream & Crystalline Lip Care Review

Aside from the scent, the first thing that I noticed about this moisturiser is the beautiful texture.  It is a rich, luxurious cream but there is also a touch of a gel like texture to it which makes it so different to other face creams that I've tried in the past.  When applied to the skin, it has the feel of a light balm which really nourishes the skin without overloading it.  On makeup free days, I'll apply this in the morning as the last step in my routine but generally, I'll use it at night as I find that works best for my oily skin.

The Baume de Rose Face Cream helps to preserve the hydroplipidic balance of the skin while nourishing, repairing and protecting it.  I've always loved skincare products with rose in as they tend to be very calming which this one certainly is, and rose also helps to reduce redness, which makes this cream great for all skin types, even those with more fragile, sensitive skin.

I cannot begin to tell you how luxurious this face cream is.  When you're having a day where your skin isn't looking its best, then this is the perfect face cream to reach for to moisturise and repair your skin to its best and with continued use, it really does give you a gorgeous looking complexion.  I went to an event makeup free after a couple of weeks of using this product and another blogger came up to me to compliment me on how lovely my skin looked without makeup which was so lovely of her.

For such an intensely nourishing and hydrating face cream, I was surprised at how well it absorbs into the skin and I love that it doesn't leave my skin feeling sticky, tacky or looking greasy.  My complexion looks radiant, hydrated and naturally beautiful whenever I use it and the impact on my skin lasts.  I couldn't recommend this cream enough; a tiny little bit on the spatula accompanying it goes a long way but once I run out, I'll certainly be repurchasing it.
