5 Gorgeous Hot Springs Around the World

All throughout the world there are many gorgeous spas that are worth a visit at least once in a lifetime. With hot springs and incredible places to rest and relax, they are worth adding to your bucket list whether you go specifically for the spa or add it to an itinerary for another trip.

1) Blue Lagoon, Iceland

If you have seen photos of Iceland, chances are you have seen photos of the Blue Lagoon spa. Its rich coloured water derives from the water of geothermal springs, rich in minerals, algae and silica. It is one of the most popular places in Iceland, and with its convenient location near Reykjavik it is also easy to get to! It makes for a great spot to stop off at along a longer trip in Iceland, or if you fly in for the weekend you can have a full weekend of relaxation. 2) Pamukkale, Turkey

Pamukkale is a town in Turkey that is known for its 17 tiered pools in white travertine and water around 95 degrees. It is a UNESCO World Heritage site and translates to “cotton castle”. The pools drop down to draw the eye out over a cliff, and with the history of the Romans building the nearby city of Hierapolis near the spring, it is somewhere you can go for a taste of history as well.


3) Uunartoq, Greenland

While there many hot springs found across Greenland, many are too cold to go in and really spend some time to relax in year-round. If you’re up for a boat trip over to the island, Uunartoq, you’ll find the spot spring here that ranges from 93 to 100 degree year round. This is a spot to go to if you want to unplug, be in nature and relax with some incredible views.

4) Terme di Saturnia and Cascate del Mulino, Italy

If you have seen photos of the popular hot spring setting in Italy, chances are this was of Terme di Saturnia. Cascate del Mulino is the free and beautiful limestone pool setting with incredibly blue water and water reaching almost 100 degrees, and right next door is Terme di Saturnia with the hotel and hot springs. If you want a place to go where you can drive through the countryside of Tuscany and wind your way over to the hot springs here, it is a beautiful spot to stay at the hotel or a nearby spot and relax in the healing waters.
