Spring is right around the corner and in all honesty, I couldn’t be more excited. This season gives me a new lease of life as I get to wake up with the sunshine and my skin gets a break from the drying central heating!
When the seasons change, I often like to change up my wardrobe to suit my tastes and the weather and this is often a great opportunity to treat myself to a few new things.
All of the new spring clothes are heading into the shops now and there are some key pieces that I think are great for so many girls wardrobes
In todays post, I wanted to share with you 5 ways that you can update your wardrobe for Spring.
Starting with this gorgeous ASOS Curve Maxi Dress in Vintage Floral Print which ticks off so many trend boxes for me. The vintage floral print is so beautiful and the cut of the dress lends itself well to the boho and 70s trends. I’d love to wear this dress with wavy hair and a fringe clutch bag.
Sticking with florals, the Floral Print Woven Crop Hareem Trousers are a great way to introduce flower patterns into your wardrobe. These are a great introduction to spring as they can instantly change up your existing outfits; simply pair with a plain top and a cardi from your winter wardrobe and you’re good to go. Similarly, you can change up the look by adding a jacket and strappy heels for an evening out.
Next up is the Tan Suedette Waterfall Jacket which I think is a fantastic option for those that want to try out the tan colours that are so big right now with the 70s trend, but who don’t want to go all boho chic. You might have seen this jacket in my instagram post where I wore it for the first time over an all black outfit. I think the waterfall cut of the jacket is not only super flattering but the colour lightens up the outfit, taking it away from being all black and makes this outfit look so pulled together and chic. Think sleek Kardashian glam styling.
Sticking with the suede look are these Emilio Luca ankle boots. While the weather in the UK can never be guaranteed, I always think that Spring is the perfect time to wear suede looking materials because theres less chance of it raining or snowing compared to during the winter months. These boots are great because they have just enough of a heel to give you a bit of height but they’re still low enough to be a comfortable height for day or night time wear. The brown colour is beautiful, far softer than black and would look lovely with tights and a tea dress.
I bought my last pair of Emilio Luca shoes from Brantano a few years ago now and they’re still going strong. I’m actually wearing them in that Instagram post that I linked to earlier and there’s not a mark on them. Brantano have a great buy one get one half price deal on at the moment and I’m really tempted to pick up another couple of pairs as they have quite a few different styles from this designer in stock.
Finally the last way to switch up your wardrobe is with a lightweight knit. My pick would be the Simply Be Sleeveless Waterfall Cardigan as it comes in so many different colours. Its actually quite long so it should cover your bottom and the waterfall look is really flattering. The great thing about a piece like this is that it is lightweight and sleeveless while still being able to keep you warm so it is ideal for the springtime when it isn’t too hot or too cold.
Those are my 5 ways to update your wardrobe for Spring and I’m sure you’ll see these styles filtering through in my blog posts and on Instagram in the next month or so! Do follow me there if you’d like to be the first to see new outfit posts!
