Have you been feeling down recently or going through a tough time? Although it can be good to feel sad and go through all the emotions, it is important to pick yourself up again and get back to doing the things you love! Let’s take a look at some of the ways you can boost your mood, and get you feeling happy and confident again in no time.
Get outside
If you feel anxious or down, getting outside and into nature can help to relieve stress and calm you down. This doesn’t have to be a 10-mile hike, a 15-minute walk will help boost your mood significantly.
Do something nice for someone
One of the best ways to make your day better is to make a friend smile. Why not text them to see how they are doing, or send them a hilarious video from the internet? Drop round a bunch of flowers and some chocolate if you feel extra generous!
Move your body
Exercise releases endorphins which make you feel happier and less stressed! Why not take up a new hobby, such as Yoga, football or even going to the gym?
Listen to music
Listening to new music or even your favourite artist is a great way to lift your spirits. Put some feel-good music onto a record player, and let yourself sing and dance! I promise no one is watching!
Declutter your space
You know the saying – a clear space is a clear mind! This is the perfect opportunity to sort through your wardrobe and draws and get rid of anything you don’t use anymore.
Write a diary entry
Try to write your thoughts down in a journal, or even in the notes section of your phone. Writing can help you to process and understand your emotions better, and this way you can have the peace of mind that your thoughts remain private.
Eat healthily
Snacking or eating food that is unhealthy can make you feel rubbish. Where possible, always try to eat as healthy as you can. Why not pick up a few punnets of fruit and snack on these instead, when you look good you feel good! Although, it is definitely okay to get the tub of ice cream out if all else fails – you are allowed to be sad sometimes!
Sleep on it
Try to get 8 hours of sleep each night, and get into a good routine of waking up at the same time each day. Not only is this better for your body, but you will be able to get into a productive routine helping you feel as though you have accomplished everything for the day, which can improve your mood.
