As a young couple saving for our wedding, Mr WLL and I are dreaming of having the perfect honeymoon. We’ve had total relaxation holidays in the past and found that they simply don’t work for us as we like to have the freedom to be out and about, experiencing the world and making new memories together- I guess you could say we like an adventure and what better time to have the most grand of adventures than on your honeymoon?
If you’re a regular reader of my blog then you’ll know I often talk about going on day trips to the zoo. It’s an outing Mr WLL and I partake in quite regularly and we’ve been to many up and down the country. We dream of one day being able to visit the animals we know and love in their natural habitat and so a grand adventure in Kenya would be top of our list of places to visit if we had the money to.

A Kenyan safari game drive through the Tsavo National Park to see the Elephants in the wild for our honeymoon would be a great source of adventure and learning for us both to experience as newly weds and certainly a once in a lifetime trip. We would love to visit the Amboseli National Park on our safari too and take in the sights Mount Kilimanjaro which I’ve been promised are truly breathtaking!
Of course we would want our grand adventure to last as long as possible so gone would be the hair straighteners and luxury products that I usually blog about and instead we’d be looking to stay in a camp and get a true taste of life on an African savanna. We’re not a couple who would want to flash our cash and live luxuriously while away so whilst safari’s are pre organised trips for obvious reasons, we wouldn’t be looking for a high end affair. We would want rather spend our money staying on safari for more days than sleep in a more luxurious cabin. We’re all about giving back to the country and it’s local people too, using our money for public transport where possible and eating with the locals rather than opting for an overpriced tourist haunt. We would also spend some money before we go on everyday living items like toothbrushes, pens and exercise books to take with us and leave for the Kenyan people. We want to experience the country we’re visiting and live and breath it with those who love it and giving back is really important to us.
In writing this post, I have entered a competition with financial comparison website MoneySupermarket.com to win a £1000 cash prize which we would gratefully put towards experiencing our dream adventure. You can read more about the competition here.
