Liverpool has always been one of those cities that I have wanted to visit for years. It is a city of culture, sport, nightlife and excitement. I briefly visited when Simply Be opened their first ever store in Liverpool ONE but it was back in 2014, I enjoyed my first weekend away in Liverpool, as opposed to a fleeting visit. I was there to celebrate my masters graduation and I’ve been returning ever since; most recently for the Curve Fashion Festival where I launched my first clothing edit with plus size clothing brand, Curvissa.
Whether you’re a football fan, a music fanatic or a foodie, Liverpool is the city where you can create some epic new memories. Shopping, entertainment and dining down by the waterfront in Liverpool ONE is where it’s at. There’s something for everyone there but today, I’m going to share with you my faves from when I’ve visited!
SHOPPING
I’m sure everyone will find plenty of their favourites when shopping at Liverpool ONE but my personal top picks are the Beauty Bazaar from Harvey Nichols where you’ll find the best beauty products around, Bravissimo who offer the most accurate bra fitting service I’ve found on the highstreet, Flannels which is amazing for designer buys (my boyfriend got me some gorgeous Michael Kors shoes from there at Christmas!), my jewellery faves Pandora and Swarovski and The White Company. If you want your home to smell of summer holidays then I’d suggest picking up a Seychelles candles, reed diffuser and room spray from The White Company, honestly it smells LUSH!!
FOOD & DRINKS
When you’re out shopping on a weekend away, you need to keep your energy levels up, right girls? Barburrito is great for a quick mexican bite while you’re on the go or if you’d prefer a sit down meal perhaps for the evening, then I’d recommend Chaophraya who make the tastiest Thai food. There’s one in Newcastle too! Options are a plenty, whatever the cuisine you enjoy so check out the food and drink at Liverpool ONE.
What is great about the Liverpool ONE website is that they have an offers section that tells you all of the money off, 2-4-1 and other deals that are on offer at the various restaurants so if you can save yourself money to spend on shopping and entertainment while you’re down there.
ENTERTAINMENT
When you’re stuffed and all shopped out, Liverpool is a great city for a night out so get your glad rags on and head to the Cavern Club or down by the waterfront where you’ll find loads of bars like Revolucion de Cuba where we went as a bit of an after party after the last Curve Fashion Festival. We booked a table with a drinks package as there was a lot of us and we were celebrating the launch of my clothing edit with Curvissa. Alternatively, there are so many more live music and Irish bars in Liverpool that you could spend many an evening enjoying!
WHERE TO STAY
My favourite place to stay in Liverpool is the Titanic Hotel down on the docks but I’d really recommend the Holiday Inn Express as it is so ideally located for shopping, dining and entertainment at Liverpool ONE.
Liverpool is one of those cities where you’re always guaranteed to have a great time as there’s so much to see and do. If you have time, I’d really recommend checking out The Beatles Story exhibition as it really gives you a great insight into the hysteria that surrounded one of the most iconic bands in history.
When did you last visit Liverpool? What would you recommend to do there? I’d love to know your favourite shops in Liverpool ONE!
I’ve never been to Liverpool but it sounds like I should put it on my travel bucket list!
I’ve actually never been to Liverpool but it is a city I’d love to explore.
We were in Liverpool a couple of weeks ago and really enjoyed our visit. The museum is great for kids
It’s just down the road from us and we love it (not just for the football!) There’s some great museums 🙂
I keep meaning to visit Liverpool, I would love to shop at Liverpool ONE. Sounds fab xx
I would love to visit Liverpool! Sadly it’s a bit too far away from us, but if we’re ever up that way, I will definitely make sure we visit! I love The White Company candles too, they smell sooo good.
