We’ve seen in the New Year; popped the corks, sang Auld Lang Syne, and made a dozen New Year’s Resolutions. So to shake off the January blues- what is next to look forward to?
Winter fashion may sometimes seem unexciting, but it’s actually one of the best times of the year to become more experimental with fashion and try a number of new looks. Winter brings in a new dimension of playing with layers, re-working dark palettes, and stylishly trying to cover up any pasty skin in some form of ‘trendy’ way. Learn to wrap up, and you’ll see how much of a fun season it can really be.
The first Winter essential is the Jumpsuit. Yes, forget ‘the dress’ for now; that can arrive at any time of the year. The jumpsuit hides a multitude of sins – they can feature wide legs, batwing sleeves, high necks or strappy, more evening styles. Jumpsuits can hide what you want to hide, whilst having the ease of throwing on the one outfit and being good to go.
Keep arms and legs covered up on your evenings out with a black jersey jumpsuit, like this Harlow style from Forever Unique.
If you’re looking for something a bit more glamorous, this LEXI style features a halter neck and metal detailing, providing an effortless outfit for any January parties.
Another stylish way of wrapping up is by incorporating a touch of faux fur in the form of a gilet. A more practical way of dressing up an outfit without having the hassle of a full-on coat, gilets can layer up a sheer blouse or shift dress to try and keep in a bit of heat whilst still looking smart. New Look retail this black waterfall style, which is great for evening meals or those casual Friday night drinks.
Another smart way of incorporating layering and ‘warming up’ your Winter evening attire is to embrace the new trend of the brushed checked Duster jacket. Not as formal as a blazer, but much more smarter than a biker jacket, the petites mono duster jacket loosely sits over any types of outfits, but especially looks great over tunic style dresses, skinny jeans or fitted playsuits.
What is your favourite item to wear this season?

You have such gorgeous winter choices. It's the middle of summer here but it's almost too hot. Am looking forward to the winter fashion here ! Xx
Oooh, cute selection! I'm living in wide-leg, high-waist trousers at the moment – they look great with high-heeled ankle boots so my feet stay warm and look very smart with a blouse and blazer for work (or a skinny polo neck). Cxxhttp://curvygirlthin.blogspot.co.uk
Love these picks. I'm obsessed with granny cardigans and skinny jeans. Haha I'm just drawn to them atm! X
