Bagsy are a new beauty brand that have created a gorgeous range of beautiful British cosmetics that are all cruelty free.
The current Bagsy makeup collection is small but perfectly formed and contains products that are as beautiful to use as the packaging is to look at. The range is designed to represent the best of every beauty bag and is ideal for on-the-go application.
I’ve been trying out three pieces from the line and my favourite has to be the Bagsy Wonder Wand concealling and illuminating duo.
This is a highlighter and concealer in one, housed conveniently together in a twist up, split bullet pencil. While the shade range definitely needs some work, the product itself is lovely to use. The concealer has a creamy formula that covers dark circles and blemishes well and I like that it can be applied precisely from the pencil and then blended out with my fingers or a brush.
However, my favourite side is the highlighter which adds a gorgeous glow to the brow bone, top of the cheek bones, down the centre of the nose and across the cupids bow. It blends effortlessly and adds a subtle but noticeable sheen that looks youthful.
Another pencil style product that they have created is the Bagsy Beautiful Eyes 24 Hour Eye Colour. I have the shade Take The Plunge which is the most gorgeous bright blue that reminds me so much of the vibrant blue water of a swimming pool on holiday. Very calming and relaxing!
While this shade isn’t something that I would usually reach for, it looks awesome blended into more bronze and brown toned shadows on the eyes. I would definitely buy this pencil in other colours as they’d be fantastic as a base for other shadows for very intense looks or on quick makeup days!
The Beautiful Eyes pencils can either be used to line the eye or as a wash of colour across the lid. It has a very lightweight, buildable formula that applies and blends effortlessly. The great thing about it is that once it has set, it is so long lasting and doesn’t crease.
Unlike the Wonder Wand, this pencil does need sharpening but Bagsy have thought of everything by providing the perfect sized pencil sharpener in the box with this pencil.
The only product that I didn’t really get along with was the Bagsy Soft Velvet soft matte lip colour in 01 No Frills. While in the packaging, I thought I was going to love this lippy, the formula let it down. It has more of a mousse texture than any other liquid lipstick that I’ve tried and while it applies matte straight away, it doesn’t dry down on the lips so you’re left with this strange slippy texture that ends up looking rather patchy.
It is comfortable on the lips which I’m pleased about as I’m not a fan of the very drying matte lipsticks but I do feel as though a liquid lipstick should have a dry down and not look patchy as soon as you’ve smacked your lips together.
The colour, however, is gorgeous. Very feminine, pretty and barely there which is ideal for a day to day lip colour.
Have you tried Bagsy? What would you recommend from the makeup range?
