Balance Me Skin Bright Hydrating Face Mist Review

Over the last year or so, facial mists, or beauty waters as they are otherwise known, have become big business within the skincare industry.  I’d suggest that while face mists are a complimentary, rather than essential part of a skincare routine, they can be invigorating, refreshing and down right lovely to use.

There are several face mists available on the market, perhaps most well known being the Caudalie Beauty Elixir (buy here) and the Ren Tonic Moisture Mist (buy here), both of which I have tried but can safely say that they aren’t a patch on the product that I’m going to review for you today and that’s the Balance Me Daily Essentials Skin Bright Hydrating Face Mist.

Balance Me Skin Bright Hydrating Face Mist*

The Skin Bright Hydrating Face Mist is yet another Balance Me product that has been given the Caroline Hirons seal of approval and today it is getting mine too!

Being of 99% natural origin, this beauty water is infused with pineapple and rose floral water to help to replenish and balance the skin and neroli and spikenard essential oils which have a revitalising and invigorating effect on the skin.  The effect is instant- when spritzed onto a cleansed face an neck, I instantly feel refreshed, revived and my skin looks replenished.  This is a quick and simple fix for when you’re feeling a little under the weather or looking a little dull and dehydrated.

This face mist contains hyaluronic acid which holds more than 100 times its weight in water, making it ridiculously hydrating and a great way to replenish your skin of water, particularly if it is looking dehydrated, dry or dull.  I have oily skin but it is often dehydrated so this is great for me as a moisturising pick me up.  All skin types can use this and you can really tailor its use to when you skin will benefit from it the most.

The spray itself offers a relatively fine, but wet spray of the water and I find that two spritzes is more than enough to cover my face and neck when used from a distance.  It is quick and easy to use and dries fairly swiftly, so I’m not waiting around for too long before I can apply my other products.

The beauty water itself smells like a subtle mix of floral and fruit, not too overpowering but definitely present enough so that you know you’re not just spraying water onto your face.  It helps that you can instantly see the brightening, refreshing effects too as your skin is left with a healthy, dewy glow after use.

The great thing about the Skin Bright Hydrating Face Mist is that you can use it whenever you like, wherever you like and however often you like.  Personally, I like to use this after cleansing morning and night but it can also work as a refreshing pick me up throughout the day.  If you’re someone who suffers from dry skin, then this is perfect to spray over your completed make up look to add a dewy glow and to stop your powder from looking cakey.  It can also be used to refresh make up throughout the day.

Speaking of refreshing, this face mist is also an excellent addition to your travel bag when you’re off on holiday as not only is it a superb way to combat the drying effects of air conditioning whilst on the plane, it is also a great way to cool down and refresh your skin whilst you’re in the heat, particularly if you store it in the fridge.

The Skin Bright Hydrating Face Mist is £20 for 60ml and is available direct from the Balance Me website and also from Look Fantastic, Debenhams and Naturismo.  Whilst the price per ml works out ever so slightly more expensive than buying the larger bottle of the Caudalie beauty water, I am sure that when you’ve tried the Balance Me you will agree that it is far superior.
