Balance Me Super Toning Body Cream Review

I used to be one of those girls who would go through phases with moisturising my body and I’m sure many of you can relate to this.  I’m lucky in that, aside from a few patches of psoriasis on my wrist and foot, I have pretty soft skin on my body and I’d put that down to regular exfoliation and using really softening products when I’m in the bath; indulging in a bit of lazy moisturising (see this post and this post to read all about this) from time to time.  I would go through phases of regularly using a body moisturiser and then I’d spend weeks not applying one.  This resulted in the body creams piling up in my house and not getting used.  If you’re a regular reader of my blog you’ll know that for the last couple of years I’ve been working hard to use up the products that I already have, rather than purchasing new but the category I would most often neglect is body moisturising.  That was until a few months ago when I really started to make a conscious effort to moisturise my body daily.

That may have seemed like a lengthy introduction but I think it is worthwhile noting that I’m in the groove, I’m on autopilot, its a habit- I moisturise every day and because of that I know what I’m looking for in a body moisturiser because I’ve tried that many so these days, it takes something pretty special to knock my socks off…

At the time of writing, I’ve actually used up the Balance Me Super Toning Body Cream.  It took me just over two weeks to finish the bottle after applying it religiously everyday.  This was my first introduction to the Balance Me range of natural products and I’m hoping that it wont be my last.  When I say natural, I mean it.  Balance Me are one of the very few companies who display the percentage of natural ingredients on the front of their packaging and they’re very open and honest about what goes into their products.  This is something that they don’t have to do, to label a product as ‘natural’ there’s actually no laws that define the term so many beauty companies bandy the term about like its going out of fashion when in actual fact, the vast majority of their product is made up of non natural, lab made ingredients.  With the Balance Me Promise, you can rest assured that you know exactly what you’re putting on your skin and all of their products are UK made and free from parabens, sulphates, petroleum, mineral oils, silicones, dea, pegs, propylene glycol, artificial fragrances and colours.

The Balance Me Super Toning Body Cream is a high performing moisturiser that is designed to be used all over the body to enhance tone, boost circulation and hydrate the skin.

The ingredients are of 99% natural origin and combine sweet almond, rice bran and meadow foam oils which are known to be packed full of fatty acids with hyaluronic acid which is amazingly hydrating as it attracts and holds water to plump up the skin and vitamins, iris root and corn poppy flower extract.  It feels incredibly rich when applied to the skin and it smells beautifully floral, I can particularly smell notes of rose.

The scent is a combination of juniper bergamot, rose geranium and lavender essential oils.  Which smell strong, indulgent and like a spa experience with every application.  The scent is long lasting and I can smell it all day on my skin.

I apply this at night time, just before I’m going to bed.  I pop on my iPad, prop it up on my chest of drawers and set away a YouTube video to play.  I find that watching something on my iPad whilst I’m applying the cream and allowing it to skin in, helps the time to pass by.  The body cream feels luxurious, rich and indulgent and is pretty thick in consistency.  A little goes a long way so I tend to apply a small amount, massage it in and then add to it as trying to rub in too much at once leaves a white cast on the skin whilst it takes a while to massage in and fully absorb.  Whilst I apply this all over my body, I really focus on the areas where my skin has the most cellulite and is dimpled like my bottom and thighs.  My skin is left feeling incredibly soft, hydrated and moisturised after use.  The nourishment lasts all day so this isn’t a cream that would need to be applied more than once per day.  It also works particularly well when combined with body brushing.  Every other day, I concentrate my Sanctuary Body Brush (buy here) on my thighs and stomach, brushing in the direction of my heart, before applying the cream and it really helps the cream to be absorbed well into my skin.

If you’re looking for a body cream that really intensely nourishes your skin and provides a lasting hydration then this has to be the one for you.

There is a 55ml bottle available for £6 or a 200ml bottle like the one I have here available for £18 direct from the Balance Me website, or from Look Fantastic.

I'm the same – I go through phases with moisturising and seem to have a load of creams in the house – albeit most of mine are gifts! Lately I've been applying lotion when I get in the shower and I'm still damp – I hate the feeling of being covered in cream and slightly sticky. I think this is why I don't moisturise more often! Thanks for the link to the body brush – I've been wondering where to get a nice one for a while!

I've never used these products before either and I recently got a face wash free in a magazine I'm dying to test it out! Great post 🙂 xx

This is a great review! I've tried their lip balm and it was really nice, I love the fact that it really is natural too. I may have to try this cream, although I'm trying to do the same at the moment and use up products I already have before buying new! 🙂
