Over the last couple of months, I’ve been reviewing several products from new, low cost makeup brand, Freedom Makeup London that are available at Beauty Crowd (the most fabulous home of all things beauty that you must check out!). Today I’ll be sharing my thoughts on the Freedom Pro Decadence Palette in Today’s Tonight which is exclusive to Beauty Crowd.
It goes without saying that the selection of shades in this palette is nothing short of stunning. Ranging from creams, browns and champagnes to deep plums, rose gold and midnight black, you can create a multitude of different daytime and evening looks with this palette without needing to reach for another eye shadow.
The darker shadows seem to swatch far more pigmented than the lighter ones but trust me when I say that all of these shadows are very pigmented and leave a great colour pay off on the eyes without the need for a primer.
Even the lightest shades that don’t seem to show up when I’ve swatched them stand out on the eyes and are particularly useful as a brow bone highlight or as a wash of colour all over the lid.
Some of the shades remind me of the kind of hues that you’d expect to find in the Urban Decay Naked 3 palette but I actually prefer Today’s Tonight more because it has extra shades added in there to distinguish it from a pink based palette. The Naked 3 was the Urban Decay palette that I was most disappointed with because I found that a lot of the shades were very similar, particularly the dusky ones and when applying them, I found that I needed to reach for other shadows outside of the palette to complete my look.
In comparison, with the Freedom Pro Decadence Palette in Today’s Tonight, I can create so many different looks, right from the palette and I never feel as though two shadows are the same or that I’m missing some shades.
The eyeshadows feel buttery soft and are very easy to work with as they blend effortlessly and have very little fall out, if any. They have a mixture of matte and pearl finishes which I really like combination of as they give you just the right balance between classic definition and light reflecting shimmer.
I do tend to reach for this palette more when I’m creating evening makeup looks because it has the most fabulous smokey eye shades but as there are plenty of matte, light and neutral shadows in the palette, I find it easy to use for daytime looks too. Regardless of when I’m applying the shadows though, I find that they last for many, many hours without fading or creasing and my eye makeup look still looks just as pigmented when I come to remove my makeup at the end of the day as when I first applied it.
That being said, the shadows don’t irritate my eyes in the slightest and they’re really easy to remove with a cream cleanser or micellar water.
The shadows are housed in sleek black packaging that I love. There’s an outer cardboard box with this palette too in a gorgeous rose gold which really sets off the palette and makes it look great if you’re giving it as a gift.
Inside the palette is a double ended sponge applicator that, admittedly, I’ll never use as I prefer to use my favourite eye makeup brushes. Plus there’s a huge mirror that makes this palette superb for taking with you on your travels.
The packaging feels sturdy and fuss free and after taking it on two abroad holidays, I can vouch for how robust it is! I always worry that I’ll end up smashing my makeup in my suitcase when I travel as the aeroplane process is usually a little heavy handed but I’ve never had any trouble with this palette.
Looking at the rest of the Freedom Makeup London collection online has really got me feeling all heart eyed emoji. There’s some shades and formulas in there that would fit straight into my everyday makeup bag but there’s also some products there that would get my creativity flowing and encourage me to try something new. That’s the true essence of Freedom makeup; be free to make up.
I’d highly recommend the Freedom Pro Decadence Palette in Today’s Tonight*. 20 super awesome eyeshadows for only £6.00? Yes please!
