The moment I spotted the limited edition Chanel Rouge Coco Shine lipstick in 116 Mighty, I thought thats a bit bright but from the moment I swatched it, I knew that I had to have it.
You might remember this lipstick from my How To Look Luxe blog post and I can safely say that I’m still absolutely loving it.
In the bullet, 116 Mighty looks as though its going to be a very intense, highly pigmented, bright shade of pink, almost a little bit like Play-Doh but when you swatch it or apply it to the lips, it is actually a really sheer wash of beautiful pink colour.
I should have known this, in theory, given that the Chanel Rouge Coco Shine lipsticks are their sheer, hydrating formula (see my review of the shade Boy in this post) but Mighty just looked so full on in the bullet that it deceived me!
This lipstick formula is highly moisturising and literally glides on during application, without tugging the lips. It is very lightweight and leaves this incredible water like shine on the lips that isn’t sticky or tacky. It feels almost like a balm.
The formula is definitely buildable and while you’re not going to get an opaque bright pink look with this lipstick, you can build it up from a very faint, glossy wash of colour up to a more pigmented, glossy pink lip look.

I absolutely LOVE the shade of pink that Mighty is as it gives me a perfected, naturally youthful, pretty pink pout without looking too young, childish or bright.
I have been looking for a shade like this for so long and have never been able to find it so to come across it on a whim while purchasing the Chanel Nail Polish Remover was a very happy surprise!
It has definitely become my go-to lipstick this spring for minimal makeup days where I just want to look pretty and not overly done but it also looks great with a smoky eye at night as well if I’m just wanting a light wash of colour on my lips.
The great thing about this lipstick is that it wears off really evenly. It doesn’t bleed, go patchy or leave a ring of colour around my lips, reminiscent of a clown. It has a long lasting, hydrating and moisturising effect on my lips and it hangs around for a good couple of hours before I even need to think about reapplying.
The Chanel Rouge Coco Shine lipstick in Mighty is a limited edition shade for spring/summer 2016 so if you want it then you’re going to have to be quick as the limited edition shades have a tendency to sell out FAST.
