This week, I’m back with another Empties post. In case you missed last week’s, here it is, but for now, lets have a look at the products I’ve finished using up this week.
L’Occitane Mint, Pine and Rosemary Shower Gel
I absolutely love this shower gel. It’s an odd combination of scents for a shower gel but they smell amazing together. It is packed full of essential oils and not only cleans my body but leaves it feeling super soft and fragrant too. I’ve already repurchased the full size.
Estee Lauder Double Wear Light in Intensity 2.5
This has to be my favourite foundation ever; I repurchase it time and time again. It gives a medium coverage that is matte but natural and not cakey at all. I’ve written a full review of this foundation here and also compared it to the original Double Wear here.
Batiste Dry Shampoo in Blush
We all know how much of a fan I am of Batiste dry shampoo, it’s nothing new and I regularly feature their newest scents; here is my latest review of the new Batiste Lace dry shampoo. Since I use Batiste on a regular basis, I’ve started buying their larger 400ml cans as they’re more cost effective. This particular one lasted me about a month.
L’Oreal Perfect Clean Foaming Cream Wash, Soothing for dry/sensitive skin
Quite frankly, I wouldn’t use this again if you paid me. I found it to be absolutely awful; it made my skin feel squeeky, tight and stripped of any natural oils which is surprising given that it is formulated for dry/sensitive skin and if it does this to my oily skin, God only knows what it will do to those with dry skins! You basically dispense a small amount of product (which smells a bit like plastic) onto the scrublet, hold it between your fingers and then work around your face in circular motions. I found this didn’t really deeply cleanse my skin and my face still felt dirty after using it. I was so disappointed in this product and it has taken me ages to use up as I’ve hated using it so much. I originally bought it at the end of last year from Body Care. I went in to buy another Garnier Pure Active Exfo-Brusher Wash (which is BRILLIANT) but they didn’t have it and when I saw that this one was on special offer I thought I’d give it a go. I wish I hadn’t wasted my money now.
Lancome Hyda Zen Nuit Neurocalm
I received this sample pot when I purchased a few of the L’Absolu Nu lipsticks when they were first launched last year. Lancome always seem to get their skincare samples spot on, this little glass pot gives a great first impression and the product inside doesn’t disappoint either. Lightly fragranced, rich and indulgent cream that sinks into the skin slowly over night and allows you to wake up with super soft skin. It is very soothing and makes me feel sleepy when I apply it, whether that’s down to the rich moisturising action or the scent, I don’t know but it feels very relaxing. I’d definitely purchase the full size of this in the future when my usual night cream runs out.
Alex by Alex Curran 100ml eau de toilette
I originally reviewed this perfume at the beginning of last year after receiving three for Christmas. Alex by Alex Curran makes a really good daytime fragrance because its light, feminine and powdery in scent. It is very affordable too, about £10 for a gift set with the body lotion included so if you’re looking for a cheaper priced perfume to wear during the daytime to save your more expensive fragrances for the evening, then I’d recommend giving this one a go.
Manuka Doctor Apinourish Repairing Skin Cream
This is another product from one of my favourite skincare brands that I have repurchased a number of times. It works really well for my skin as it is non greasy and sinks into the skin very quickly. I find that it plumps up my skin and really reduces the appearance of any damage to my skin. I’ve reviewed it fully here.
Simple Vital Vitamin Day Cream
I’ve been trying my best to use up little samples of products that I have accumulated. I tend to keep samples of products like this for when I go on holiday but I recently found quite a few that were half empty and decided to use them up. This day cream from Simple is nice and light. It is a little too plain for me but would be great for young skin or those with very sensitive skin.
Phew, I didn’t realise how many products I’d used up until I sat and typed all of that! Now I’d going to do a ceremonial chucking out of all of the empties!
What products have you been using up lately? Which did you enjoy using and which would you not buy again? Have you used any of the products featured in this post?
