Empties #14

Its always a good day when I have used up enough products to write an empties post for your all but lately I’ve been even more concious of the products I have and really making in roads into using them up because my wedding is fast approaching and I am trying to cut back on my spending as much as possible.  This is my 14th Empties post now and there’s sure to be many more in the future as I don’t see the point in buying more products when I have so many great ones at home already just waiting to be used up!  I’m also going to sell my stuff online when I find that I don’t need it or have a use for in the near future so stay tuned for that.  Until then…

Grinning from ear to ear and super proud of my beauty addict super saving self, I’m now sitting outside in the blazing sunshine ready to type up this bad boy… lets go!

Kiko Self Tanning Spray- Dark (full review here, buy here)

So first up is a product that I have grown to love, the Kiko Self Tanning Spray- Dark.  I first reviewed this back in May and I had a bit of a mixed opinion on it as I loved the natural, light colour that it gave and the ease of the spraying method but I disliked how its use is a bit of a gamble as the spray is completely clear.  I can now reveal that I’m a bit of a dab hand when it comes to Kiko-ing and I LOVE this false tan.  I wouldn’t recommend it for those who are just starting out as I think a strong guide colour is really helpful but for those who are tanning pros- go for it!

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in 2 Light (buy here)

Formerly Collection 2000, the re-branded Collection’s Lasting Perfection Concealer still rocks my world every time I use it.  I have both the Light shade that I have used up here and the Medium shade which I use when I’m a little more tanned and both of these were repurchases- I just can’t get enough of this stuff!  The formulation of this concealer is very similar to the Estee Lauder Double Wear Concealer and at £4.19 fromBoots, it is a much more purse friendly option for something that is essentially the same thing.

The concealer applies really effortlessly and it covers more or less EVERYTHING and then some!  Whether it be blemishes, dark under eye circles, hyper pigmentation or dark spots, I find that this concealer covers it all and the coverage lasts all day- I never need to reapply this.  It has a doe foot applicator so if I’m ever applying this to a blemish then I pop it on my finger first, then I dab my finger on the spot.  The concealer has an oil free formula and it feels as though it is powder based so it is a fantastic option for oily skin types.  I’d suspect this would be a little drying for very dry skin types.

The only thing that I dislike about it is the packaging which is pretty shocking as the black writing rubs off as soon as you touch it so if you buy this I’d recommend just wiping the writing off with a cotton pad and a little nail varnish remover before you even start using it!

I would absolutely repurchase this in the future.

Avene Soothing Hydrating Serum (full review here, buy here)

The Avene Soothing Hydrating Serum is great for those with sensitive skin.  It is light weight, glides onto the skin and has a cooling effect to really sooth the skin whilst giving it a boost of hydration.  Its £17 for 30ml from Boots which I think is a great price for such a good quality product.  If you’ve got sensitive skin then this one is a must to compliment your skincare routine!

Clarins Cleansing Milk (full review here, buy here)

I must admit, this is one of those products that I have grown to dislike the more I have used it.  It would be unfair to say that I dislike this entirely- I have enjoyed using it as I love the baby powder scent and I loved it when I first bought it but I wouldn’t repurchase it.  For a product that is intended for combination or oily skin, it is very thick and creamy which doesn’t feel as refreshing as my cleansing waters do and I don’t think that it works as well, or as quickly, at removing my make up as they do either.  It does work very gently on my skin however so I think it would be good for those with sensitive skin and it does remove the majority of my make up so it does clean my skin to some extent.  I think I have just been spoiled in recent months with my Riosonicleanse so now I know how much dirt is still left on my face after I use a cleanser alone.

I wont be repurchasing this any more unfortunately as I’ve discovered some much better products.

Ted Baker Origami Body Spray (buy here)

I love the smell of this as its refreshing but warm and sexy at the same time.   I got this in a gift set a couple of Christmases ago and instantly fell in love with the fragrance.  Origami is a mix of rose, sandalwood, raspberry and vanilla, yes its THAT good.  I spray a little on after my morning shower and it lasts a good few hours before I need to top up my spritz.

I’d definitely recommend it but I probably wont repurchase it as I’ve now jumped on the Victoria’s Secret Fragrance Mist band wagon and I’ve got a tonne of those to use up…

Alex by Alex Curran Eau De Toilette (review here, buy here)

When I first got this perfume, I absolutely loved it and received three bottles one Christmas.  Its citrus floral scent just grabbed me and it instantly became my go to day time fragrance.  The scent now doesn’t bring back the best of memories for me, its funny how a perfume can do that isn’t it?, so I’ll not be repurchasing but I would recommend it if you’re looking for a budget daytime perfume.

Good Things Deep Pore Anti Blemish Cleanser (full review here, buy here)

Last but not least is an empty that will be very sorely missed- the Good Things Deep Pore Anti Blemish Cleanser.  This is one of my all time favourite products and possibly my favourite cleanser all together.  I’ve tried SO many different cleansers from the very high end to the super budget and this one has to be my favourite and at £4.99 from Boots, its not going to break the bank.  I first reviewed this on my blog back in October of last year and I’ve talked about it countless times since.  It removes all of my make up effortlessly and prepares my skin ready for a deep clean with my face brush.  It feels refreshing and cooling on the skin and is perfect for using first thing on a morning to wake you up from your evenings slumber.  I’d recommend and repurchase this until I am blue in the face!

That’s all of my empty products used up for now but I’ve got more coming very shortly.  I’m loving shopping my stash and rediscovering my products!
