When I think about stand out eye makeup brands, Eye of Horus are the first that spring to mind. They offer a range of products that are so high performing, they knock the socks off so many other raved about brands.
The most recent products that I’ve been trying out from Eye of Horus are their new Liquid Metal Liners* which are available in two colours, Alchemy Gold and Copper Sphinx.
These liquid liners have really well designed packaging as they unscrew and have a handle thats just the right size to make them easy to hold and easy to control. The brush is long and quite thin, a bit like a felt tip that has a little bit of flexibility to it that makes it easy to apply to the eye. The product sits on the brush rather than in it, soaking through, the way that a felt tip would. When you screw the brush back on to the other part of the packaging, it is then going back into the pool of product. I think that this is great as it means that it shouldn’t dry out quickly the way that some products do.
Not only are these Metal Liquid Liners easy to apply but their formula is superb too as it doesn’t feel drying or tight on the eye at all which is something that I’ve experienced with other products. The formula is infused with Aloe Vera Leaf Extract, Lavender Flower Water and Evening Primrose Oil which helps to soothe the eyelid while ensuring that the finish of the liner is smooth and even.
Once applied, they take a few seconds to dry and after that, they don’t transfer onto the rest of the eyelid and they stay in place all day without needing to top up. When I come to remove them, the easiest way is with a bit of eye makeup remover soaked onto a cotton pad and they seem to remove quickly and effortlessly without having to rub or scrub at the eyes.
You can either use these liners alone on the eye or to finish off a look alongside other eye makeup products; I can see them being absolutely perfect for adding a little metallic touch to a smokey eye. They’re absolutely perfect for using as a liquid liner to create a winged liner look and you can even double them up and use both of them on the eyes like I have in these photos.
I’ve also discovered that these liners look great on the lashes too. Simply coat your lashes in mascara and run the Liquid Metal Liner of your choice over the tips of the lashes. This looks especially great when done with the Alchemy Gold shade.
Both shades are absolutely stunning and I couldn’t believe how well pigmented they were while remaining noticeable metallic and catching the light so well which makes them perfect for an evening out. They’re unlike any other coloured liquid liner that I’ve used before and I’m so happy to be able to add them to my makeup collection, especially ahead of Christmas as they’re going to be perfect for the festive season.
What I love the most about them though is how they don’t look tacky or over the top in the slightest. I was a little concerned that this would be the case with metallic eyeliner but I couldn’t have been more incorrect. They’re pigmented and bold enough to be seen but they’re also subtle enough to be worn during the day, as I did when I created the makeup look in these photos.
They have a cruelty free formula as well as being nut, gluten and paraben free.
