Face Of The Day: Summer Coral

It’s not often that I do face of the day style posts but I really love this make up look.  It’s soft, feminine and pretty but still defined.

For my base, I used the Garnier BB Cream Miracle Skin Perfecter in Light for Combination to Oily Skin applied using my Sigma F80 brush.  It’s a great base for casual days when you’re looking for a light coverage that evens out your skin tone and cancels out redness in the skin.  For any blemishes and dark circles I used the Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Ultimate Wear Concealer in 3 Medium to cover them up.  I’m usually 2 Light in this concealer but the 3 Medium is much more suited to my summer tanned skin at the moment.  I love this concealer as it covers everything and is very long lasting.  Combined with a light dusting of the Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Ultimate Wear Powder in 3 Dark, my face is good to go for the day and although a light coverage, it is a long lasting one.  To add definition to my face, I use the MAC Matte Bronze powder to contour my cheeks, forehead, underneath my chin and down the sides of my nose.  Usually I’d add a highlight but the Sheer Cover Pressed Mineral Blush in Ginger is so shimmery, a highlighter is not needed after I’ve applied this to my cheeks.

To add colour to my eyes but to keep them soft, girlie and summery, I used light and shimmery MAC shadows.  I uses Orb all over the lid to even tone and provide a light matte base, Phloof! to highlight the brow bone, All That Glitters over the lid working up to the brow bone and Expensive Pink in the crease.  Eyebrow definition is so important, especially when combined with light eye shadows as they’re needed to frame and define the face more than ever.  I filled in my brows using the darker of the two brow powder shades from the Anastasia Beverly Hills Beauty Express Kit and used the brow wax from the kit to set them in place.  I curled my eyelashes using my trusted MAC eyelash curlers and applied a light coat of the Sheer Cover Extra Length Mascara in black/brown which I’ve recently fallen back in love with.

To complete my coral daytime look, I used my all time favourite lipstick from MAC, Cut A Caper.

I’ll be uploading the WhatLauraWore outfit post of the clothes I’m wearing in this post tomorrow.

Stay beautiful
