It seems absolutely crazy to me now but I never used to take any pride in my underwear. Up until last year, I was wearing completely the wrong sized bra with bra extenders in the back, they were countless years old, washed out and tinged grey, some with missing wires and I didn’t have any matching sets.
I never thought my body would look or feel great in underwear and I used to get myself down about it. I would wear undies because I felt I had to; it was a means of covering up so that I could then put my clothes on. Through the journey I’ve been on this past year, I’ve realised that’s not the case at all; my body is just as worthy as anyone else’s to feel good in lingerie.
Finding a better fit and style was key and had a huge impact on my confidence.
Now I love wearing gorgeous lingerie, especially matching sets and bikinis too. There are several gorgeous sets in my drawers and I have plenty of coordinating pieces in black, nude and actual white (…rather than washed out!) to wear as basics. I’ve even started dabbling in shape wear and have bought a babydoll recently too!
It feels so lush to take so much care over what I’m wearing underneath my clothes; it’s for me and me alone and gives me a little boost inside. It’s like my own secret when I’m out and about as no one else sees them under my clothes but they make a world of difference to how I feel about myself and that’s what truly matters!
The bra that I’m wearing in this post is the Daisy Lace Plunge Wired Bra from Simply Be which is available in sizes 34B to 48DD. I have it in three of the colourways; Navy/Rose, Blush (nude) and Peach/Pink and they’ve been really valuable to my underwear collection as I’ve worked to find my proper bra size.
The Daisy Plunge Bra is really comfortable to wear and gives the girls a great shape. It is lightly padded and underwired with a fabulously plunging front which enhances my cleavage and looks great under a range of tops from round and V necks to wrap tops that are a little more revealing.
The design is so pretty with the colour variation between the bra and the daisy pattern lace. Theres a cute little bow in the centre of the bra at the front on the breast bone and a picot edge trim which all adds to the girlie aesthetic of the bra. I just wish that there was a matching thong available as I don’t find that the coordinating shorts work for me; these pieces tend to roll down on my shape but nevertheless, the bras are so gorgeous and really really affordable too. I’d definitely recommend checking them out if you’re looking for a low cost, everyday bra!
