Fashion and Beauty Haul

Two hauls in one week?  Ok so that’s a little naughty but these things have been bought over a period of a three months and I tend to just snap some pictures as I go and schedule them together in a post for you.  Think of it as shopping my stash!  So lets see what I’ve been haulin’…

First up is the beauty section and I’ll start with a repurchase which is the Neal and Wolf Silk Smoothing Blow Dry Balm that I got for a low price, compared to the RRP, of £7.60 from Beauty Bay.  I first received a bottle of this in a goodie bag at an event ages ago and I loved it.  It makes my hair so smooth and sleek like no other hair blow dry product does.  I’ll do a full review of this soon as well as a review of the two Urban Decay products that I bought to try from Beauty Bay as well, ahead of my wedding.  These were the Urban Day De Slick Mattifying Powder and the De Slick Make Up Setting Spray.  I’ve heard that these are great for keeping your make up shine free and make it last all day… we’ll see.

I also bought a few products from Boots.  These were a couple of pairs of the Footner exfoliating socks (£19.99 each) which literally make the dead skin peel away from your feet and a Boots Large Patterned Mirror (£5) which looks completely different to the picture online but I’m really happy with it.  I bought this to use when I travel as it is compact enough to fit in a small make up bag but large enough to be able to look into to do a full face of make up.  It also stands up at a really good angle too which is great in case there isn’t much space in the place you’re staying in, if you’re sharing a mirror with a friend or if the lighting isn’t too good where you are.  I’ll definitely be taking this on future trips away.

Onto the fashion items I got and I’ll start with Dorothy Perkins.  When I saw the Floral Print Cotton Blazer for only £20, I knew I had to have it.  This jacket has seen me through many a summer day and it is still available online.  The colours are so gorgeous and the jacket is warm as it has a weight to it because of its quality but it isn’t a jacket that will make you too hot.  The second item I got from Dotty P’s is the Nude Lace Bubble Frill Top which is a really girlie, pretty top that looks great with jeans.  It is a basic but a cute take on a basic because of the lace and frilly sleeves.

I picked up this soft coral coloured beach dress from River Island in the sale for £15.  It is elasticated at the top and has a drawstring waist which is like because you can create a bubble effect with it.  It is maxi dress length with huge slits up the side which would keep you cool if you were walking about in a super hot country.  I’m going to love wearing this with flip flops and a big floppy sun hat, perhaps with a chunky wooden necklace too.

I bought three swimsuits from Simply Be who are my favourite retailer to buy swimming costumes from as they have so many that are great for plus size girlies like myself.  I bought the Beach To Beach Swimdresses in red gingham and navy gingham and let me tell you, these look awesome on.  They’re such a great fit and look really flattering, particularly if you have a larger tummy that hangs down like mine does.  The most colourful swimsuit that I bought was the Joe Browns Classic Swimsuit although I have no idea why this is called the classic swimsuit as there is nothing classic about it!  It has a gorgeous turquoise costume with a pretty china rose style overlay.  This is so flattering and looks so pretty.  I absolutely love it- just imagine that blue with a tan!

If you’re looking for a bandeau to wear under a top with deep arm holes then I’d really recommend checking out Asda as I picked this lace one up for only a few pounds and it looks great under lots of summer tops.  I love this bright coral one as the colour is so vibrant and is lightly padded too.

Next jewellery is very hit and miss for me as sometimes I can go in and see literally LOADS of pieces that I love, other times I just see one thing which was the case when I bought this gold necklace.  This is a piece that looks great when worn over a cami or plain T and for £8 it is really good quality.

So that wraps up my haul… what is your favourite piece?

Hey Laura, i think a bandeau for under a flowy shirt is a really smart idea. I had a couple of pieces this summer, that i wasn't very comfortable wearing just by itself…a bandeau would be so smart back then….Thanks for the tip!xo,
