When I go on holiday I like to really plan what I am going to take with me and when I pack it all up into my suitcase, I like to put everything into pretty accessories. It makes me feel really organised and calm when travelling as otherwise I get anxious that I have forgotten anything and the worry just spoils things for me, as silly as I’m sure that sounds!
I really like to have cute, girly accessories. I love things to look really pretty and I love things that either match or compliment one another, that’s just the way that I am.
I’m travelling to Morocco soon and I’m starting to get myself organised with what I am going to take with me. I find that shopping for holiday clothes and getting everything together is part of the fun and since I uploaded my latest youtube video, lots of you have messaged me to say that you think that too!
Today I thought I’d share with you my current favourite holiday accessories. These are the ones that I’m going to be taking on holiday with me when I visit Marrakech.
Radley Passport Holder
Starting with my passport cover. This is a prime example of buying good quality once and it lasting a lifetime. I bought this Radley passport holder literally years ago, I must have had it for around 10 years and it still looks as good as new. Radley make the most gorgeous leather goods and they’re incredibly well made. This one is in pink with a light pink dog on the front and passport imprinted into the material. Inside there is a slot for your passport with a window in it so that you can show your photograph easily. Sometimes at the airport I do need to take my passport out of the cover but I don’t mind doing this at all as keeping my passport in here at all other times keeps it protected, clean and makes it easy to find. There are also some card slots inside that I keep my health insurance card in and details of the injections that I have had for travelling abroad.
They are around £35 to buy now which I think is around the same price that I paid back then and I remember thinking that that was quite expensive for me at the time and I had to save up but I’m so please that I did because I go on quite a few holidays and it has lasted me so well. I can’t see me needing to repurchase one for years and years to come so I’d definitely recommend getting one to any of you globe trotters out there!
Buy your own Radley passport holder here, they also have some canvas fabric ones too which are priced a little lower.
Owl Earbuds Ear Phones*
When I said that I like cute things, I meant it, right down to my tech accessories. A good pair of ear phones are an essential accessory for me when I travel as I like to listen to calming music on the plane if I feel anxious and I love to listen to music when I am lying around the pool.
These ones are the Owl Earbuds by Fred and Friends from Flamingo Gifts and I’ve kept them in the packaging because my little bichon frise loves nothing more than to chew head phones if she can get a hold of them! These ones are great because they come with two different sets of silicone tips, one larger than the other designed for adults and children so they’re ideal for anyone. I have quite small ears and find that ear phones are usually too large and hurt my ears so I can’t wear the large ones that came with my iPod but with these having the silicone tips, they’re ideal. The earphones will fit lots of different devices such as my iPod and iPhone as it has the standard 3.5mm socket so I’ll be able to change them between devices with ease.
Mostly though, I love their really cute design- white cable and cute pink and purple owls with yellow and blue details on the actual in ear bit. These will looks so cute around the pool, especially as a lot of the swimwear, hair accessories and daytime clothes that I have are pink.
They’re available to buy from Flamingo Gifts who also sell these really cute Babushka/Russian doll earbuds.
My next travel accessory essential is definitely a neck pillow and an eye mask. Mine came in a set by Juicy Couture at Harrods but I can’t it online as I did buy it a long time ago however there are so many really good sets online. There’s a really great one online at Matalan for only £5 but they’re available separately too, I’ve linked some of my favourites above.
In the past, I took a travel pillow with me for comfort but now that I have a neck injury, it is an absolute essential for me as sitting on the plane can cause a lot of discomfort and pain. I’d recommend a travel pillow for anyone to provide them with comfort and support when sitting up on the plane but also for popping under their towel when sunbathing instead of lying flat as it is much more comfortable.
I love taking an eye mask away with me for the aeroplane too. I pop my ear phones in and my eye mask on to block out the light and drift off to sleep, it really helps!
Ted Baker Botanical Bloom large and small wash bag
Another accessory that I like to take with me when I travel is my Ted Baker Wash Bag. I actually have two of these in the same design, the Botanical Bloom collection that I got last year for Christmas, as well as another one that is pink with a bow on. I love my wash bags to match so I have the large one for my toiletries and the small one for my makeup. They have this gorgeous light pink, coral and rose gold design on them with florals which looks so pretty.
Of course having matching bags isn’t a travel essential as such but I do love to have complimentry or matching pieces and Ted Baker make the best wash bags around. They have this vinyl patent texture style outer with a really sturdy zip and they’re lined with a satin style fabric. The glossy outer ensures that the bags are wipe clean on the outside and they always look as sparkling as when I first got them.
They fit all of the toiletries and makeup that I need inside them and when I have travelled with them on breaks away already, they have really surprised me with how much they can fit inside. Although they’re quite pricey at around £29 for the large bags and £27 for the small, they’re absolutely worth the money and last such a long time. For years I was using makeup bags that I’d got free with gifts with purchase in department stores and finally decided to take the plunge and start acquiring the Ted Baker bags that I’ve lusted after for years. I’ve never looked back.
When packing toiletries, I’d suggest only taking exactly what you need. Adding extra weight to your suitcase really isn’t necessary as theres no point in paying for extra baggage for products that you’re not going to use!
Here are the current Ted Baker wash bags that are available in some of my favourite stores:
Ted Baker Opulent Bloom Travel Laundry Bags*
The last of my travel accessories are these Ted Baker laundry bags which were inspired by how organised another travel accessory enabled me to be.
A couple of years ago, I was going on a girls holiday and wanted a really smart new suitcase as my others were battered and in need of an upgrade. I spotted this Lulu Guinness case and immediately fell in love. Inside, it is lined with a really good quality stripy fabric and comes with three bags inside that have proved to be invaluable for me and all of the trips that I have been lucky enough to go on. I like to pack my undies, shoes and accessories inside them but I have been looking around for some additional ones because I have found that the three isn’t enough for everything that I would like to pack inside, especially if my husband is travelling with me. Also, they’re not large enough to really pack many clothes inside which is something that I would like to do when I have clothes that are dirty on holiday to separate them from my clean clothes.
Once again, Ted Baker came to my rescue with their laundry bags. This set is from the Opulent Bloom collection, which features a dark background with a coral floral design on it and rose gold lettering and toggle. These bags are perfect for travel because they’re so versatile.
There are three different bags. The smallest one has ‘Keep It Together’ embroidered on the front and is a zip bag that has a wipe clean style material inside which would actually be great for damp pieces, such as swimwear so if you tend to remove your swimwear at the beach and get changed before heading back to your hotel then this one would be great for popping inside your beach bag. Alternatively, I think it would be ideal for bring home worn underwear. Then there are two drawstring fabric bags, one medium and one large, with ‘Its a Smalls Word After All’ and ‘Wash Upon a Star’ embroidered on them. These are item for larger items such as bras, shoes and clothes. I think that they’ll prove invaluable on my trip.
I’m so impressed with these laundry bags and cannot wait to use them on my trip. It is so great to find accessories that are pretty and practical in equal parts. Who says that you can’t stay cute on the go while being organised?
These were also from Flamingo Gifts and I have to say, I cannot recommend their site more highly. It is perfect whether you’re buying a gift for someone or a little treat for yourself and they have a wide range of Ted Baker goodies!
They’re currently offering first class delivery for only 1p on all orders, now that’s a good deal if ever I’ve seen one!
I’d love to know what your favourite travel accessories are and it would mean a lot to me if you could give my new youtube video a like!
