Prioritise your sleep to boost your immune system 

There isn’t a healthcare professional alive who will tell you that your sleep has nothing to do with your overall health and wellbeing! Getting enough good quality sleep every night keeps your immune system fighting fit and ready to tackle any infection that could come your way. Not only does sleep help your immune system, but there are parts of your body that only work and respond when you are already asleep, such as our stress levels. We all know that if we aren’t getting enough sleep, we are likely to feel more sensitive to situations. 

Look after your eyes – you only get one pair!

Your eyesight is incredibly important and often taken for granted. Looking after your eyes and getting them checked regularly is a good way of detecting any possible warning signs early on so you can deal with them before they overtake your life. If you are unable to get to an optician due to health or medical reasons, there are opticians that do home visits, so you don’t need to worry about trying to get to an appointment in your local town. 

Protect your skin from the summertime sun

Finally, the UK is having some much-needed hot weather, and most of us will want to be outside as much as possible to soak up the sun and get a tanned look. Your skin needs to be protected from the sun at all times, whether it’s blazing hot or clouding over. Using a highly rated sun cream throughout the day will protect your skin from harmful UV rays and, contrary to popular belief, will still give you a beautiful sun-kissed look. Take up that new yoga class you meant to try

Whether you have never done yoga before or you are very experienced, your local yoga class could offer much more than a chance to practice your downward-facing dog pose. Yoga is a powerful practice that could stretch and strengthen your muscles whilst improving your mental health and any stress you are currently facing. Yoga links movement and breath, which work well against stress reactions and calm your body’s fight or flight mode.
