I love it when the sun starts to shine brighter in the sky
and it feels a little warmer outside because I feel as though I can finally
wear my maxi dresses and sandals again.
This one is from FD Avenue (review here) and although it has seen better
days, it was a firm favourite of mine last summer and is set to be this spring
too, until I can get a new one.I love
the shape of this dress; it feels so comfortable to wear and looks pretty
flattering thanks to the looser fitting top part.I don’t think FD Avenue are around anymore and to be honest, I’m not surprised if the terrible service I received from them when trying to place a second order was anything to go by. There is more or less an identical dress here on BoohooPLUS who I would absolutely recommend as I love their range and their delivery is fantastic. I’ve just placed an order for a lime top, dress and the blue version of this maxi and it is getting delivered tomorrow, I cannot wait!
The kimono I’m wearing is actually from Boohoo too.You can see my post with a full review of it
here.I love the bright colours in the
floral design, especially the coral, as it is one of my favourite colours! I picked out my coral clutch and necklace to bring out the colour of the coral in the kimono too.
A maxi dress and jacket like this are so easy to just throw
on as they look really put together when in actual fact; they require very
minimal effort at all.I always find
that when wearing a plain dress, it is good to add a touch of sparkle whether
that is through accessories or footwear. For this outfit, I opted for the latter and it is just an added bonus
that they’re ridiculously comfortable too.
The Evans Black Jewelled Toe Post Sandals have the most gorgeous silver
diamante leaf design that runs down the top of your foot. This makes them sparkle so much when I walk, I love the glamour and femininity that they add to even the plainest of outfits! The most surprising thing about these sandals is that I got them from House of Fraser who stock a fabulous range of wide fit shoes and boots along with a great plus clothing range that I didn’t even know about until recently.
I often find that wide fit shoes can be too wide for me and even too long at times but these aren’t at all, they’re a great fit. With a panel for the heel and an elasticated buckle ankle strap, they feel really secure on my feet but more important still, they’re ridiculously comfortable.
When I picked out these sandals, I had my holiday to Morocco in mind as I’ve been looking for some footwear that will stay on my feet while I’m walking all over exploring Marrakech. These have the added benefit of having added padding in the sole for extra comfort and this cushioning really makes all of the difference, ensuring that I can walk pain free for hours in them. Often sandals have a very thin sole that I can feel every stone in the road through but not with these ones. They feel like I’m wearing slippers!
For the comfort factor alone, I’d recommend these sandals! They’re also available in nude if you would prefer that to black, although I personally think that the silver looks amazing with the black, even more sparkly than against the nude.
I’m so excited that House of Fraser have a proper plus size department now as I love shopping on there. I often use their free buy and collect next day delivery service as it is so reliable and really easy for me when I don’t know what time I’m going to be at home on a particular day as I can just drive to my local store at the Metro Centre to collect my parcel at a time that is convenient for me. I’ve done this in the past when I bought my Lulu Guinness luggage and several Jo Malone scents and I’ve had no concerns whatsoever. I’d definitely recommend it!
