How To Increase Your Body Confidence and Learn To Love Your Body From Every Angle

WhatLauraLoves Elomi Lingerie Simply Be

One of the greatest body confidence lessons I urge you all to learn, whatever your size, is to love your body from every single angle, in every single state. From the front and back, to the side, at an angle and sitting down, dressed, in your undies, naked and so on.

Loving your body and being grateful for everything that it does for you is so powerful but that power is lost if you only appreciate it in one particular position.

Have you ever gone on a night out, felt bangin when you left the house & then saw yourself tagged in a photo the next day and felt horrified at what you saw?

Chances are you weren’t standing at your “preferred” angle, doing your favourite “flattering” pose or the camera has simply caught a glimpse of something you usually try to hide in a photograph but the truth is, that’s what you look like babe!

Rather than focusing on the laughs you had with your friends that night or being thankful for the body that enabled you to dance until your feet hurt, you focus on the double chin or the roll of fat, the cellulite or the sagging skin.  You beat yourself up, feeling absolutely shit about yourself  and feel embarrassed that other people might see this image.  Am I right?

The truth is, we don’t walk around all day in one particular pose. People, ourselves included, see us from ALL angles, including the ones we don’t like so much. I’m sure most of us will have a favourite pose or angle when it comes to having our picture taken or looking in the mirror but it’s important to love yourself from ALL angles.

It won’t happen overnight; YOU NEED TO WORK ON IT.

First, look in the mirror or get someone to take a photo of you from an angle you wouldn’t usually stand or sit in.

Then, rather than picking out the things that you hate, thank your body for everything that it does for you.

Pick out the things that you love about the way you look and felt in the photo.

Then tackle the things you don’t like. Not a fan of your legs?  Turn those negative feelings into positive ones.  Tell yourself what you appreciate about your legs; perhaps you’re grateful that they enable you to stand & serve customers at work or maybe you’re really pleased that they enable you to walk to pick the kids up from school.  Keep up with this and the more you do it the more you’ll learn to love your body from every angle and your body confidence will increase.

It took me a REALLY long time to learn to love my body in my underwear; I used to hide behind baggy clothes and my undies were atrocious because I just wanted something to cover me up and hide away.  Now I take as much pride in my lingerie and PJs as I do in my clothing.  I wear what makes me feel a million dollars because I DESERVE IT️ AND YOU DO TOO.

I’d love to know if you try this out and what your experience is.  Has it helped you to feel more love and appreciation for your body?

I’m wearing the full coverage Elomi Tori Plunge Wired Bra which is underwired with a plunging neckline and side shaping.  It is the most beautiful nude coloured base in a sheer fabric with black seem detailing giving the bra its structure.  It is adorned with tattoo inspired roses and has an adjustable tattoo motif that sits on the décolletage which can be removed if you prefer it.  Since the bra is sheer, for the image above which I originally posted here, I had to edit it when I put it on Instagram to blur where you could see my nipples.  Apparently Instagram isn’t too fond of ladies nipples being on show… one rule for blokes and another for women it would seem.  Still, I don’t want to grumble on this occasion and will just play by the rules as I wouldn’t want to have my account taken down or images deleted!  I just wanted to let you know in case you order the bra expecting it to not be as sheer as it is.  No where else on the image has been edited.

The knickers I’m wearing are the Elomi Tori Full Briefs which are such an accurate fit, same with the bra.  They’re made of the same nude sheer material with the black seam detailing and tattoo-like roses to match the bra except the black seam detailing continues onto the back which makes for a beautiful design.  This set are absolutely stunning and feel so sexy and confidence boosting; for you and the body you love.

I’ve written more posts about building my body confidence which might inspire you too; why not check out my journey to plus size bikini body confidence?

You’re so right. If we focused on what we love about ourselves rather than what we dislike we’d be so much happier all round.

It is crazy how we almost all of us have ‘our favourite angle’ and prefer that in almost all posses. This is a great post Laura.
