Reflecting back to this time last year, I hadn’t set any New Years resolutions.  2011 had been such an awful year for me that I was determined 2012 was going to be much more enjoyable, regardless of what I’d set out to achieve.  Above all, I’d wanted to turn 2011 around and intended to enjoy myself with my friends and family and take whatever life threw at me in my stride and I’ve certainly done that this year.  I’ve thrown myself into my blog and work, I’ve built strong friendships and been true to myself.  2012 has been a great year and I absolutely cannot wait for 2013 and all that it will bring.  I’ve found myself ready to set some life goals again which are more a continuation of the lifestyle changes I’ve put into place, quite unconciously, this year, starting with living positively and living happily.

How I started 2012… and how I ended it.  Much happier and feeling full of life!

Live Positively– Last year, I had a form of CBT to reasses my mindset which ultimately put me on a more positive path in life.  I’ve been able to apply what I’d learnt to other areas of my life and this is something that I am by no means giving up in 2013.  Life is great at the moment and this will continue in 2013.

Live Productively– This year, I will make the most of every minute.  This means I need to up my organising skills, become a more effective planner and work efficiently.  I want to rest well and go to bed at a reasonable time so that I can make the most of the time I have when I’m awake.  I often burn the candle at both ends and this needs to stop as it’s unhealthy and means that the time I spend while I am awake isn’t as productive as it could be.

Live Healthily– Now before you all start rolling your eyes, this isn’t one of those half hearted, full of good intentions, all talk no action resolutions.  Having lost 6 stone in 2012, I think I’ve earned the right for my commitment to lose weight and exercise in 2013 to be believed.  I want another 4 stone off and that is certainly what I am determined to achieve.  It will still mean I’m over weight but I think it will be realistic for me to maintain and then I’ll assess my health when I’ve hit that goal and maintained.  It’s all about being healthy for me and losing the weight in 2012 reaped so many benefits; I feel great, old injuries aren’t as agrivated and my skin and general wellbeing is in much better condition.  2013 will not be a revolution for me but a means of continuing the changes I put in place in 2012 and improving on them further, not just with food but with maintaining my exercise too.  This year, I’d like to continue with my favourite ways to exercise; swimming, Aquafit, Bokwa, Zumba and the gym however I’d like to try some other classes too like Boxercise and I’d like to take up walking too although I think I’ll wait until the weather is a little more pleasent for that one.  Cue the purchase of some walking boots.  Whilst I’m losing weight, toning up and getting fit soley for my health, my wedding is on the horizon in 2014 and I want to make sure I’m feeling and looking my best for my future husband.

Live Wisely– I want to live wisely in every sense of the word.  I’m keen to learn and want to progress further with my career this year as well as with my blog.  My big goal this year is to save money.  Mr WLL and I are determined to pay for our wedding ourselves, we don’t want any handouts from our family and I really need to get wise as far as money is concerned.  One thing that will help with this is to continue using up the products that I already have.  Over the last couple of years I’ve been making wise choices when I see a sparkly new eyeshadow (can you believe I haven’t bought the Naked Palette?!) as I have so many already and I’ve been on a constant quest to use up the products that I already have, shopping my stash.  Of course, as a blogger, I am very fortunate to receive new products to try out and review for which I am very thankful but I make sure that I use these up as well as the products I’ve purchased or been gifted from friends and family in the past.  I literally have a hundred body moisturisers to get through in 2013 that I’ve acumulated over the years… wish me luck!!

      Thanks Erica! It's a lot of weight indeed, i've still got a fair way to go but feeling so positive. You will be as successful as me as long as your mindset is switched on and focused- YOU CAN DO IT!! I think the hash tag is such a great idea. Only just started watching Nikki's videos at the beginning of December and they're great, I love her outlook on life! xxx

    6 stone is amazing Laura. I lost 5 over the course of a few years, and just the small differences like being more sprightly and able to run up stairs at uni made me feel so much better. Plus you look amazing! x

      I had life coaching/CBT to look at the reasons why I comfort ate and I've followed a low carb diet with regular exercise. I eat lots of salmon and chicken either oven cooked or steamed with salad xxx

    Im off to Mexico in october and have been emarking on a life stle change (diet). started two weeks ago and have nearly lost a stone, without i feel even trying.I am currently a 26/28 and have bought a gorgeous dress from monsoon in a 22 which now hangs on the out side of my wardrobe. I walk past it eveny night and think i will get in to this or maybe need to get another in a smaller size. You always look fantastic i wish i had your confidence. Well done on your incredible journey.
