When I’m going for a monochrome look for a night out, I like to add some sparkly touches, starting with my nails.
The latest sparkly look that I’ve been wearing is the Kiss Nail Wraps in the style Gown. The design is a gorgeous silver glitter background with different sized jewels on it in the colours silver, pink, purple, blue and green.
Each pack contains 18 jewelled nail wraps which can be used on either your fingers or toes, an emery board and detailed instructions as to how to apply them. They can be worn either over the whole surface of the nail or they can be cut and worn with a nail polish underneath to create a pretty design.
They’re really easy to apply and no real skill is required. First file the nails into shape and sweep some nail polish remover soaked onto a cotton pad over the nail surface to clean them. Select the nail wrap that best suits the size of each nail and peel away from the plastic backing. Apply the nail wrap onto the nail, next to but not on the cuticle and press down from the centre outwards to smooth the nail wrap onto the nail. They’re quite sticky but can still be removed and reapplied if you don’t put them on straight. Fold down over the edge of the nail and file away the excess nail wrap using the blue side of the file. This part can be a little tricky depending on how the jewels lie so have some nail scissors handy in case you need to snip the excess nail wrap away. They literally take a couple of minutes to apply and there’s no drying time, no fuss and no mess, as the excess nail wraps stay intact, they don’t crumble or anything.
The Gown nail wrap design looks so pretty on the nails as the sparkles really catch the light. I got lots of compliments on them while we were out and at work the next day my friends were asking where I had them done!
The nail wraps are designed to last for 10 days. I found that they lasted for 2 days before starting to peel at the corners and I think that’s because of the jewels on them as if a larger jewel was on the edge of my nail then it didn’t feel as secure as if a smaller jewel was there or just the glittery backing. I wasn’t too bothered about this as I had applied them with the intention of wearing them for a specific night out anyway.
I used the remaining nail wraps by cutting a thick diagonal strip out of them and placing them on top of my nails when they were painted with pink polish. This looked really pretty and I found that the nail wraps lasted longer this way too.
The nail wraps are easy to remove, simply peel away gently from the nail. After I removed these, my nails were still in great condition. I hate using products that ruin the condition of my nails and these definitely don’t so I would definitely use them again for a night out.
The Kiss Nail Wraps are £5.98 each and are available from Asda.
